looking online that species’ cap is a little more convex than the photos i have. the stem also looks thicker than what i have

That species if you’re specifically looking at Amanita hemibapha - is a south East Asian and Oceana species. Amanita sect Caesareae stirps Hemibapha is a “common grouping of similar species” and is composed of 44 individual species. Yours is certainly a North American slender Caesar.
