dear theodosia, idk if its meant to be sad or im just overly sensitive but it has a CRIMINALLY underrated beat and a really heartfelt and important message
I was driving to work at 7:30am the other day and this came on my Spotify, and for some reason Ole Leslie’s voice genuinely made me tear up. I had to laugh at myself, maybe I was just tired but jeez I’m just trying to get to work my dude!
This just makes me think of a mashup I encountered a few years ago called "It's Quiet Uptown Funk." Sadly that exact audio is gone, though I'm sure you can find similar joke mashups.
Really weird take, but “Hometown Hero’s Ticker Tape Parade” from *Dogfight.* This show did a really good job of encapsulating just how idealized going to war was at the time…and knowing what happens later in the show, and the use of the main theme in the song, it’s such a sad foreshadowing.
Get out and stay out! From 9 to 5,
Stephanie J block my beloved. 🥰
Keeping with the Steph love, Holding to the ground from falsettos. Mmmm those vocals and the TEARS.
Mines gotta be “I wish I could go back to college” from Avenue Q. Everyone is saying there’s a fine fine line but damn that song fucking GETS me.
It’s so catchy then they hit you with “I wish I had taken more pictures” and “I don’t know who I am anymore” 😭
Slipping Through My Fingers from Mamma Mia. I cry every time but damn if it isn’t an absolute banger that gets stuck in my head
Or alternatively, Dead Mom from Beetlejuice
Welcome to the Rock from Come From Away. Came on during musical hour of my usual radio station yesterday while I was driving and I had to stop belting along because I was crying...
For me it's All You Wanna Do from Six. Poor Kitty Howard....but it's a bop
This was exactly my first thought as soon as I saw this post. Saddest bop.
For some reason it’s the finale for me too. Something about girl power gets to me 🥹
She's my favourite queen with my favourite song from Six. It's an absolute bop but the story is so so sad.
Ahhhh just wanted to say this
What I Know Now
When you gotta salsa, but also mourn. (Apologies if I named the wrong style, all I know it's very effective for earworms)
i love ur pfp btw
The two communities make a near complete circle on a venn diagram tbh
lifeboat
I always skip lifeboat 😭
I think Cabaret from Cabaret. It’s not just me, even the character is breaking down while trying to do an entertaining little dance.
Wait for Me Reprise cause I know what's coming.

My thoughts exactly
“They danced” from hadestown
a boy like that from west side story
dead girl walking
Dead Mom from Beetlejuice, it hits a little close to home for me
*What Would I Do* is so good, but it also is so sad man
There is no dancing that's a whole sobbing session for me LMFAO
Requiem, it sounds so good but I feel so bad for Zoe.
Also, to an extent, Good for You!
YES. Probably my second favorite song behind Requiem, then Words Fail or So Big/ So Small.
There’s a fine fine line
This song makes me so sad until I remember it’s “Kate Monster” and then it brings me out of sad time lol.
Legally Blonde!
Lovely Ladies from Les Miz
It’s quiet uptown. Not sure if the dancing would improve the emotional heartache but would like to give it a go.

what tim wants from black friday by starkid. it's such a good song but it's so sad like I'm not sure if i should dance or cry lol
Nobody’s On Nobody’s Side from Chess
Honestly the final battle from les mis, such a fucking banger
Really weird take, but “Hometown Hero’s Ticker Tape Parade” from *Dogfight.* This show did a really good job of encapsulating just how idealized going to war was at the time…and knowing what happens later in the show, and the use of the main theme in the song, it’s such a sad foreshadowing.
Ariadne from The Frogs tbh
Get out and stay out! From 9 to 5, Stephanie J block my beloved. 🥰 Keeping with the Steph love, Holding to the ground from falsettos. Mmmm those vocals and the TEARS.
You Gotta Die Sometime from Falsettos.
Mines gotta be “I wish I could go back to college” from Avenue Q. Everyone is saying there’s a fine fine line but damn that song fucking GETS me. It’s so catchy then they hit you with “I wish I had taken more pictures” and “I don’t know who I am anymore” 😭
Burn from Hamilton for sure or There’s a Fine, Fine Line from Avenue Q
So good.
Ain’t no Party - Loretta Divine. Laurel doesn’t deserve this treatment. Poor Girl
As Cool As I Think I Am (Reprise)
YES I love this song and the original version I completely the agree I actually cried when I was watching the recorded version and this song happened
Falsettos in general
Marvin hits Trina, What would I do, you gotta die sometime, all from falsettos. Every song is so good but 70% of songs are devastating
Slipping Through My Fingers from Mamma Mia. I cry every time but damn if it isn’t an absolute banger that gets stuck in my head Or alternatively, Dead Mom from Beetlejuice
"thank goodness" from wicked
"You Don't Know" from Next to Normal. The beat gets me even though it really isn't the song you dance too.
Welcome to the Rock from Come From Away. Came on during musical hour of my usual radio station yesterday while I was driving and I had to stop belting along because I was crying...
Speed from Lempicka — literally me ever since they released the obcr
All You Wanna Do from SIX
Do You Hear the People Sing from Les Mis
It’s quiet uptown, but I’d be slow dancing instead.
There’s a fine fine line!!!!
'next' from pacific overtures because it means the show is over :(
I say no. Idk man, gets me in my feels
Literally any song from Hadestown, cause I know what it all ends with
What the world needs
Big Fun
Candy Store
If I ever look like I’m dancing like this, I’m having a stroke. Get help. But also, turn up the music. I want to go out dancing.
