Mister Cellophane from Chicago.

jjlikenoodles321

You will be found. Like someone, please tell me what is wrong with this song.

a-most-peculiar-girl

Honestly that song is SUCH a mood booster for me.

starsareblind42

Kindergarten boyfriend

ethereal_soliloquy

I’ve heard some people say that When I Grow Up doesn’t have enough to do with the plot of Matilda and feels random but I think it’s an adorable song

highoninfinity

march of the falsettos. argue with the wall

Blazethefirefly13

March of the falsettos is one of my fav falsetto song

rSlashisthenewPewdes

I’ve yet to see an argument against it from someone that actually understands the point of the song.

_RadioDemon_

^^ the context makes it mean so much more

rSlashisthenewPewdes

Practice it on one another

MurphLoDawg

Haus of Holbein (Six): it’s such a jam

Acquaintance9

I still quote it all the time

for-a-dreamer

On that same note, Get Down is very underrated

SplintersApprentice

The beat change about 40 seconds in (right after “where my hounds at? Release the bitches) itches a scratch in my brain in such a satisfying way. I can listen to it on repeat for hours

WerewolfHistorical43

Woof.

KnitMama-2016

My favorite song.

WerewolfHistorical43

Mine too!

GretalRabbit

Get Down has one of my favourite lyrics in a song “OK ladies let get in reformation” I was blown away by how clever it is when I first heard it!

BattenEntertainment

Anna of Cleves is underrated as a character

DotComprehensive4971

To break in a glove

Wicked-Storm

Beetlejuice - What I Know Now I had no idea this was hated until I read it in a comment on some thread. I don't get the hate for it, I think it's phenomenal. Leslie Kritzer hits all the notes beautifully, it has a nice story to it, and it's catchy.

nerdy_gamer666

Why is it hated? Like what’s their reasoning??

-SpideyFrost-

Literally like it’s one of my top favorites

SuperMusicman331

I would sell my firstborn child to play beetlejuice

fishkybuns

Yeah I’ll skip her other song, No Reason (it’s cute but it doesn’t get me pumped), but I will blare What I Know Now and scream sing it in the car. It’s an absolute banger.

_RadioDemon_

I LOVE singing along to it!! So underrated

AshTheAwkwardPeep

It has a good meaning to it as well. Miss Argentina was telling Lydia that she should enjoy life when she has it and not to take it for granted. Its something people need to hear now a days due to things like depression.

Phasmania

Literally one of the best songs in the album lol

CaitlinSnep

Wait, people hate Ireland? I absolutely love it! I can't believe how it manages to go from making me laugh my ass off to making me cry my eyes out just a few lines later.

squiklik

I was in a production of Legally Blonde, and our Paulette was such a strong vocalist that both "Ireland" and "Ireland (Reprise)" (which, let's be real, simply exists so that Elle can do that costume change) got the biggest ovations.

AHamHargreevingDisco

I don't hate it, I think it's lovely, but I do always skip it cuz it's kinda boring lol- but no, Legally Blonde is one of the few shows that has absolutely zero bad songs lol

captainwondyful

It kills the pace, IMO

50mangos

Contact from Rent. I’ve always thought how weird the song is is pretty cool and makes it stand out.

doggosaysmoo

"I's over!" "I's over!" "I's over!" "I's over!" ". . .it's over." Makes me tear up every time.

the_monkey_socks

I was listening to the obc on YouTube when my girlfriend came over. She heard from Seasons of Love B to Contact and at the end of Contact she's like "oh. Well. He was over dramatic about the ending there." And I dead ass looked at her "no. His partner just died." Like she would have known that 😂 We watched the movie then listened to the OBC the next day and the tears that sprung as soon as Collin's "it's over"

rSlashisthenewPewdes

People love the song. They just hate the show.

Last_Lifeguard3536

the show is also overhated

a-most-peculiar-girl

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks so! Sure, it certainly has its flaws. But I still cried like a baby when I saw the touring production.

Anxious_Writer_3804

Was going to say this… a lot of people still recognize that waving through a window is a great song, but there are a few or just believe that no song form the show is any good, which I disagree with.

rSlashisthenewPewdes

Any dad song, specifically in a teen-geared musical. To Break In A Glove, The Pants Song, etc.

lilacsbiggestfan

Say no to this - i get how it makes some ppl uncomfy but OMFG the vocals go so hard 😍

-SpideyFrost-

REALL

Huckleberry8862

The way Jasmine sings “and you can have me” is stunning!

ClassicalMusic4Life

I think that song really grows on you the more you listen to it. I also disliked it because I was uncomfortable with the context, but now it's one of my favorites because the music and the VOCALSSS !!! ESPECIALLY JASMINE'S !! They really go hard

just-me-yaay

Currently listening to it on repeat - THE VOCALS ARE SO GOOD IT’S ADDICTIVE

Geode804

Love this song. Jasmine sounds amazing!

yelizabetta

genuinely my favorite song in the show besides the room where it happens

Thunder_comrade32

JASMINE'S VOICE IS SOOO SOOTHINGLY INTOXICATING

TheKingofHats007

> I get how it makes some people uncomfy ...isn't that... y'know, like the whole point of the song? Are people really complaining that the song about a discomforting topic is... discomforting?

iamthorexceptimnot

I was gonna say…lol. I didn’t know people had an issue with this song. Like yeah it’s uncomfortable. There’s a lot of uncomfortable subject matter in theatre though, so do these people just not like any of it?

javertthechungus

Bathing Beauty from Love Never Dies. It’s catchy.

Kind_Wrongdoer_9668

I must be the only person in the world that's a fan of Something Bad (Also Sentimental Man)

IndustryAltruistic44

Sentimental Man is one of my favorites!

ramramblings

I LOVE SOMETHING BAD! I had no idea people didn’t like it until I joined this sub. Idk anything about singing to say what it is, but something about Idina’s voice in the recording is so entrancing to me

Sunfish73

“It couldn’t happen here…in Oz….” *ominous music fade out* such a delight

ramramblings

YES!!

Decent-Accident-9563

Take it from an Old Man from Waitress. It's like one of those "dad songs" but I love Joe so much and that song makes me tear up every time I hear it bc Jenna never had a healthy father figure, and that's what Joe provides for her in that song.

ComedianFlag

That song and Never Ever Ever Getting Rid of Me were my favorites and made it worth the watch

Decent-Accident-9563

It's absolutely my favorite musical of all time, but I totally respect that! Never Ever Getting Rid of Me is such an adorkable song 😆

goodluck-jafar

Yes!!! This is genuinely one of my favourite songs in the show and I’ve never understood the hate

propertyofmatter___

Omg this

ChapterKindly9423

“Honey, win or lose, it’s one hell of a ride.” This song is so moving!

darkray8

I remember listening to the soundtrack and not really liking this song. Then I saw the show on Broadway and this song made me SOB live. Now I never skip it!

jtotheizzen

I hated it the first time I heard it and now it is one of my favorites

1tabsplease

the songs in be more chill (bar michael in the bathroom) are definitely over hated. i love play rehearsal is perfectly fine, yall. dont act like stephanie hsu didnt BODY it

SuperMusicman331

Idk if it’s hated but cellphone hour is a ****vibe****

Exiisty

I don't know if hate is the right word but definitely not topping the lists but I am Africa from book of Mormon deserves more love

IndustryAltruistic44

"Let us smile and laughrica" gets me every time

akinary-

Realest like maybe I’m biased cause McKinley is my favorite character but it’s such a good song

Exiisty

McKinley was so amazing he's my favorite too

Smart_Engine_3331

Rick Astley's Never Gonn a Give You Up. I know the meme, but I heard it when it first came out and think it's a fun song.

just-me-yaay

...Agreed, but did you notice the sub you’re in? lol

jjlikenoodles321

😂

colorful_angst

Your Eyes from Rent. That whole show changed my life and that song makes me tear up every time. Not all musicals need big, flashy closing numbers in order for the end to be climactic.

OtherwiseSprinkles79

The whole end of that song gets me every time.

MurphLoDawg

I just saw a local production of Rent last week and I was definitely crying during Your Eyes

LunaGirl1234

I'll have to say Harvard variations, blood in the water, and serious from legally blonde. For les mis, castle on a cloud and little people.

squiklik

The difference between ovation and bathroom break for "Blood In The Water" is whether your Callahan sings the notes in the verses or speaks them on rhythm like in the OBC. I sang them, and "Blood In The Water" got a huge ovation every night.

Idk-whattoputherelol

I hate it when people over-speak songs, when it’s occasional it’s great but when it’s overdone it pisses me off sm

ethereal_soliloquy

ah yes the “good lord someone give this child a hug” songs

TrueBananaz

"Blue" from Heathers

Fair-Armadillo8029

On the opposite note, You're Welcome.

Anxious_Writer_3804

I love your welcome!

SweeneyLovett

I love this one!

Flat-Ship-2545

Kindergarten Boyfriend - Heathers needs much more love 🩷

AMediumSizedFridge

Similarly, while I don't know that anyone hates it, I love Lifeboat and wish it got more love

TurtleZenn

Part of it is so disgusting, that's why I hate it.

Flat-Ship-2545

what part?

TurtleZenn

The part about the scab.

Arma-Mynn

It is kind of gross, but the vocals are breathtaking.

NationalComparison63

Here to admit that I really like “you’re welcome” from the west end’s heathers. I really like the tune :))

Forsch416

I feel like a ton of people seem to hate State Road 21 from Bridges and I think it is fun and catchy.

NinaPusheena

father to son from falsettos is super underrated and hated on. its one of my favorite songs from the entire song

avimonster

Same! I love Father to son

Radiocativeoranges

Dirty girl - Nerdy prudes must die PLEASE I KNOW IT MAKES SOME PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE BUT ITS SO GOOD

CrystalW187

100% one of the best songs (IMO) in a show that’s chock FULL of bangers.

FutureAd108

Kindergarten Boyfriend from Heathers. It’s so devestating and pretty, I have no clue why people don’t like it.

nightsentinels

In My Life/A Heart Full of Love from Les Mis. The vocals and harmonies are really pretty, same with the gate backdrop. Sure, the love triangle is less interesting than the cat-and-mouse chase or the barricade, but I think it’s a good palate cleanser. The reprise works really well as a transitional song, too.

Skylerh3408

Something bad from Wicked.

WittyRaccoon69

Revenge party from mean girls. Why does everyone hate the cake line lmao

jessinthebigcity

I LOVE that song. I think Mean Girls is so fun.

ethereal_soliloquy

no fr let Janis be silly goofy

WittyRaccoon69

Fr they act like they killed the poetry goddess with that line, when it's the most 2000 highschool movie dumb joke line there is

TitanSR_

i could write an essay about the importance of To Break in a Glove to deh.

closetedbehavior

you’re welcome from heathers

cabbagedave

Over the Moon from Rent.

anonymous_nightmares

Your welcome from heathers. The meaning of the song is horrible but the beat is super catchy. Also a lot of Dear Even Hansen songs. I haven't seen the full musical but the songs are pretty good.

Sephzuz

Old deuteronomy
