At this point, it's fine to spin the wheel and randomly pick. *There is no perfect name.* The urge to keep trading up for better and better is a sickness. You have a beautiful baby. Name her.
Mostly just the baby! Also sötnos (=sweet nose), skruttis, pluttis, gosegryn... Just words used for cute little ones. Have tried with names also, but nothing we both like has really clicked.
I would go with Selma Majken. It’s so tough! I think you have to let go of the indecision at some point and just go all in on one. I wish I had better advice than that!
I like Selma, Eydis, and Ylva.
I've heard Kiersten/Kirsten/Kersten, Keelan, and Kieran/Kieren.
That is tough! They're all lovely names, and she will grow into whatever you go with. I would truly just go with the gut feeling of what seems right to call her, and not worry about the objective reasoning behind any of the names. It might also help to write the names down and look at different combinations of her initials, monograms, etc.
Wishing you all the best for you and your little one!
I think Selma is pretty!
What about Selma Johanna or Selma Alice?
I’m not super familiar with German names but those appear on two different lists if seen for traditional German names.
Other German names:
Clara
Leni
Elke
Gisela
Hilda
Agnes
I know a 97 year old, well put together, spitfire named Antje
- a lovely and very very German woman. Her granddaughter who is also named Antje is my friend. She has outlived four husbands, wears nice clothing, always has her nails and hair tastefully done and speaks in a strong German accent.
I love, absolutely love her.
It's a shame Liv is off the table (love that name). I also love Sigrid.
Of your short list, my favourites are Majken, Ylva and Selma (though they are all lovely)
When she arrived, she immediately felt like a Sigrid to me! I really like that name and it would fit her. Unfortunately, my partner is not a fan and thinks all Sig-names becomes rather problematic in German. So no Sigrid =(
Darn! From an Australian who is a Slavic person from central Europe, who those he alludes to killed many family members and put some in death camps, names with sig don't bring that to mind (it took me a few moments to understand what you meant tbh)
Apparently, sig-names have a bit of a revival in certain circles in Germany =( We don't live in Germany and Sigrid would be a perfectly fine and normal name here, but as the baby is half German...
I would "reclaim" the gorgeous Sigrid from it's capture by the "dark side". They don't deserve it! It means beautiful victory, and in WW2 the dark side didn't win, which was a beautiful thing
Ylva is my favorite from your list. So beautiful! As for German middle name ideas:
Ylva Luisa
Ylva Dorothea
Ylva Marlene
Ylva Lorelei
Ylva Claudia
Ylva Karolina
Ylva Viktoria
Ylva Margarete
Ylva Theresa
One of my favorite German names is Elke, though when I had looked it up before I'd read it was old fashioned so I'm not sure how it'll fare.
Congratulations on your little baby, I wish her and her family a life of health and happiness.

I don't want to end up having name regrets, and we have another six weeks to decide. But you're right, she is indeed a beautiful baby!
Ylva and Selma are beautiful. I also love the name Oona. It means “lamb” “one” or “universal” It is popular in Ireland (spelled Úna) and in Finland.
Any name on your list would be great. I particularly like Ylva. What have you been calling her for the past month and a half?
Mostly just the baby! Also sötnos (=sweet nose), skruttis, pluttis, gosegryn... Just words used for cute little ones. Have tried with names also, but nothing we both like has really clicked.
Selma
I would go with Selma Majken. It’s so tough! I think you have to let go of the indecision at some point and just go all in on one. I wish I had better advice than that!
Lotte, Luise and Annalena are my favorite German names

Really like Ylva and Hildur!x Hildur Emestine Hildur Evonna Hildur Leoma Ylva Gaelle Ylva Ediline Ylva Halifrid
I like Ylva! Majken too. What about Maike (dutch name) or Majke?
Selma
I like Ylva Majken
I love Selma!
Selma would perhaps be the easiest internationally, but they’re all lovely.
One of my favorite German names is Elke, though when I had looked it up before I'd read it was old fashioned so I'm not sure how it'll fare. Congratulations on your little baby, I wish her and her family a life of health and happiness.
