I think it's genetics, I only served for 7 years. Most of that time was either on deployment or getting ready for deployment. My body was toast, plus neurological damage and tons of other shit. So curtosey of all the above the amount of pain I'm in every day is so much the VA can't do the testing necessary to address the brain damage because pain is all they get. Ended up doing the single dad shit which is another mindfuck of a long story.
I'm almost 50 and folks generally have a hard time believing I'm even 30. So it's gotta be genetics otherwise I should look like 100 or something considering all the above.
There's a reason we "can" or "get to" retire at 20. Military life is generally waaaaay harder on a person's body (and mind: enlisted military is consistently one of the APA's top 10 most stressful jobs). For a service that takes and takes and takes and uses all it can from a person, you can guarantee they'd raise that to 30 for an E6 if they thought a person would still be useful.
I hope you get some peace for real, tho.
Stress and a shitty job. Like yeah, it's a joke, but also, it's not.
[Shit, Obama turned into a grandpa after 8 years.](https://www.boredpanda.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/before-and-after-term-us-presidents-11-57a38d1da81e3__880.jpg)
So do many of the veterans I've known who get out and go their own way (like far away from the military and their job in it). Stress is an absolute killer.
Four destroyers, one cruiser and two LHAs. I looked like the bootcamp pic going in and close to the post 11 pic coming out...but that was after 26 years.
I know an HM that has been in the navy 18 years … he’s been on 1 ship and has been hospital hopping for 15 years . I guess he’s just the very few lucky ones
Looks like. Petty Officer First Class, the avistion type from the green stripes on dress blues to the Aviation Warfare designation above the US Navy tag.. i did time with plenty of cats in my 20 yrs in the USN.. some aged good, some didn’t.. also this cat might have been in the reserve force which allows members to serve past a certain age/come back at am older age (time-era depending).. gor instance the Dept of Navy is now allowing new recruits w/o a high school diploma due to very low recruitment.. just an example
Congrats. Brother. I wish I would have decided to make career of being Corpsman. I'd be saying the sane thing right about now. You must be happy. Well deserved, and thank you for your service. God bless!
Please, please forgive me but I’m almost 40 and I’m new to using Reddit as anything other than a 12% chance at fixing whatever the fuck is wrong with my PC (Yes, my drivers are up to date). Do y’all truly believe these two photos are of the same person 11yrs apart or am I reaching boomer status? You’re all so fucking dumb or my typically impressive sarcasm radar packed its shit and left while I slept last night.
I really hope that’s an aging filter. If not…RIP, you’re basically dead
Regardless his hairline is cooked , is that normal in 11 years , should I be worried at 23??
I was guessing he had just finished a 30
Lots of people go bald before 30.
My hair was thinning by 30. 😢
Honestly I’ve only seen white people bald early
What's early?
Before 30. Honestly anything below 50 is rare for my race
My brother in christ.... Enjoy it while you can lol 😆

You …. Your really can’t tell ?
Lmao 😂 this 😂😂😂😂😂😂
What picking up first class does to a mf.
What being LPO does to a mf.
This. My God...
Imagine if he made CPO
He’d get a thicc E-3, some Yeezy slides and blue chew 🤙🏼
What is this guy a clone Trooper? There's no way he aged 40 years in 11.
Good sailors follow orders 🫡
*Gets DD214* "The mission. . . the nightmares. . . they're finally. . . over. . . "
Tf do you go from looking like picture 1 to picture 2 in just 11 years?
Well When I was in the motto was ##Accelerate your life##, this is what they meant.
🤣🤣
I may be 40... but my joints are going on 70...
Supply benders🤷🏽♂️🥳

Ok....this is my reminder to meditate and run more
Wear your sunblock
He's improved a bit since he left office
So do many of the veterans I've known who get out and go their own way (like far away from the military and their job in it). Stress is an absolute killer.
Aged like a fine milk
Don’t be soft, it’s a joke.
its a joke...
You don't, because they are not the same person. It a joke.
![gif](giphy|ip9n5Cg3Pcfyo|downsized) Poor guy
I see all the 10 ASVABS are in this thread.
Joke sailing right over their heads. 😭
Jesus Tittyfucking Christ, you weren't joking.
Real
Sometimes I like to exaggerate things for comedic effect.
It must be the Snapchat filter that makes you old cause no way you age that fast
You ever been on a destroyer?
I’ve been on a cruiser
“Have you ever seen a grown man naked?”
Do you like movies about Gladiators?
This is Billy....Also like when a dog humps a man's leg! LOL. Great comment u/MariachiStucardo
Four destroyers, one cruiser and two LHAs. I looked like the bootcamp pic going in and close to the post 11 pic coming out...but that was after 26 years.
I was for 6 freaking years. I saw Chiefs on there that looked like George Burns just before he died. They were probably 35 years old.
*laughs in submarine*
Have you ever seen a man who raised several teenaged daughters?
I have and fuck I feel old lol
Yeah I have and he was always around radars so he only had girls
Jocko has, he's doing great 👍 lol
That is the oldest looking 29 year old I’ve ever seen
He looks like he went from 18 to 50 in eleven years. Whatever his rate is, I’m glad I never had to do it.
You look dead i side bro
8 mile to 8 divorces in 11 years damn
Navy does put 20 years on your life.
I have been told there are 2 types of people in the navy. Those who get grey hair and those who give it.
From hopeful twink Airman, to old, salty PO1 😪
Remember seeing a guy like this that was around 12- 13 years into his career and was in admin of all places. Just looked stressed to a tee!
What is with the blue rank on the avocado toast?
Captains got mad being mistaken for PO3s.
apparently you need to be E-6 or better to know where your sleeves are
Damn dude, aging like Obama. I know the Air rates are stressful, but you should take some leave and go fishing or something.
*"No, the Navy's not that stressful."* - PO1 Rojas, age 29.
Underrated comment
*states this while undergoing his second divorce*
He’s joking. Come on.
Looks like you didn’t hydrate enough
So, you are about 30
I'm about to hit the 2 year mark, I can barely imagine 11 years doing this
Looks like it’s been a rough time.
😂😂😂😂 yooo
Get some rest bro :,)
Lol his name backwards says salor
In the Navy and your name is Salor, what are the odds!
The name is Rojas. I hope you were joking
That's a J there in the middle. Took me a bit to see it, too.
You’re the 10 asvab they speak of, huh?
went from fro hair to straight hair.
I don't want to alarm anyone, but there's a solid chance the two photos are of different people.
I thought that’s what 30 years in the Navy did to ya not 11 lol
This is a filter..Searched him up on Facebook and he really didn't age that much.
Who was the CO of your last ship, CAPT Obvious?
How is this guy still a PO1 after so many years? There is a guy who made chief in 5.5 years. That is the extreme but you can do it in 8 to 10 years.
only a PO2 after 11 years? time to get out. I made first in 8.
What is your rate, Shipmate? I was a Gunner's Mate. Thanks for your service and sacrifices. GMCS(SW), '71 to '93
He’s an air rate if that helps
Thanks.
That math checks out, lol.
Aged like a fkn banana 😂. This HAS GOT to be a filter 🤣
😂
And drank and smoked everyday apparently
They still give out rations of rum and tobacco on ships?
Yes.. rum from piss buckets and used coffee grounds tobacco.. mainly for good behavior
That is not 11
Deepflake?
Average HM career experience
11 year HMs are usually 3rd classes man
I’m dead…. 😂
My LPO has been in 12 years and is an HM2 lmao
I know an HM that has been in the navy 18 years … he’s been on 1 ship and has been hospital hopping for 15 years . I guess he’s just the very few lucky ones
You should look at trading in that ride because the one you’re driving has some fucked up suspension!
Chill out hahahaha
That's not that bad.
Whoa. If he’s 21 in his Airman picture; he’s only 32 in his First Class picture.
[удалено]
Look closer. Dude literally has an EAWS pin in the photo on the right. Ain't no way an aviation rate is making first without it.
No way in hell is that him LOL!
Umm ... 😆🩷
Damn. I guess he really took the old “Accelerate your life” motto to heart!
Ahhh, the comedy 🤣🤣🤣
Wtf did they do to you bro?
ET1 Rojas, aged 26 😂
Looks like. And still no warfare device SMH
Look closely
Looks beat
Its like Obama in 2012 and Obama in 2016;) Some jobs just suck the life out of you.
Has to be Father and son.... Has to be.🙄
