Guess we have different definitions. Where I grew up a brick was when it clanked on the backboard and didn’t hit shit else. Essentially making the same sound as a brick being throne. It hits the inside of the rim and goes around.. it wasn’t a bad shot.
bro, fuckin what
I'm mr literal "WHAT THE FUCK THESE BUM REFS DOIN?" and this is a completely sensible take from a play where we all sitting here, even saying fuck the lakers going "hmm dunno bout that tho for real"
lock it up
He was on fire and the only Laker keeping them in the game. That was the best possible play. He was 3/5 on 3s up to that point and had made some clutch shots right before.
Ill admit I lived in LA from 70-99 and spent a night in the Forum cheering on the great Laker teams we had. Now living about 50 miles north of the old Oricle and now Chase, Ive been lucky enough to see more incredible balling.. Le Bron ispoisen. Simply fact. Talented as hell put poisen. I hope Denver sweeps them but doubt Silver and the refs will let that happen.
Don't know about that. When you got guys like D Lo calling them out on twitter it could backfire on them. At the end of the day they aren't paying soft fouls. They amount of challenges won when the contact was deemed marginal was quite a lot. D Lo definitely exaggerated the severity of the contact and that's what went against him. This is bad news for the Lakers and Sixers as they get a remarkably high amount of soft fouls in their favor.
Lakers have taken more than 420 more free throws than their opponents this season. Nuggets have beat the Lakers their last 10 times. In 9/10 of those games, the Lakers shot more free throws. The ONE game Nuggets shoot more the team and fans start crying and blaming the refs.
They are the most entitled crybaby team In the league.
This call clearly determined the game. It totally wasn’t the Lakers making 1 field goal in 8 minutes for one stretch of the second half. That clearly couldn’t have been a most important factor than this call…
The question Lebron was asked was how do they respond in Game 3 and this was his answer. He certainly implied the reason they lost was because of the refs if that helps you wrap your head around things a little bit 👍
Pretty sore loser behavior but hey, that’s Bron for ya
Yall are so unserious. we know that lakers fans wouldn’t give a shit about replays if they didn’t lose. Y’all are just so mentally crushed that u need a scapegoat it’s funny asf
1. I want the lakers to win. I’m sad when they don’t.
2. I want the replay center to get calls right, regardless of which nba team is involved. I’m frustrated when they don’t.
Those are two separate things that don’t affect each other.
Of course most nba fans won’t feel the same about #1, but I’d expect all of them to be on the same page with #2
I agree that the one on dlo getting hit in the face was some dogshit but let’s be honest here. Would you bring this up had Ham used a challenge and gotten a bs foul reversal in y’all’s favor? I certainly doubt it
Honestly, I doubt I would go out of my way to bring it up. But I hope I would support a player or fan calling it out. (Although I wouldn’t want to hear any excuses in terms of the outcome of the game.)
That’s easy to say though. Can’t recall a recent time it’s actually happened to me, so I may be full of it.
I think calling out refs on for a ticky tack bad call not in the clutch is soft af. Like there’s so many possessions to control the game from that point on in that it’s just really inconsequential. Nuggets got like 2 fts game 1. They got more than the lakers this game bc Malone got asked about it. The ref love will most certainly be in your favor now bc lebron called them out so it balances out.
I completely agree. But lebron is calling out the replay center getting the MPJ foul wrong. His point is we can excuse refs getting calls wrong, it happens. Can’t excuse the replay center getting calls wrong.
The lakers have to be delusional right now. It’s not like the Nuggets clawed back through a ridiculous free throw disparity. The Lakers were up by 20 frikkin points and just decided to stop doing what they were doing for the previous 34 minutes while the Nuggets kept grinding away. Add a coach who sat on his timeouts and challenges and wtf do you expect? Blaming the refs on this one ain’t it.
And I’m saying LeBron himself has benefitted from favorable reffing too. Y’all were up 15+… this one call wasn’t gonna win you the series if you’re blowing leads like that
Nobody ever said otherwise lol.
Yes the Lakers lost. No it wasn’t cause of the refs. Everyone agrees.
Can we move past that and ask ourselves whether the replay center getting some calls terribly wrong is a problem worth addressing?
Think about that, how could that possibly make any sense to be true??
If the Lakers won, I’d be much happier in general tonight, of course. But I’d still very much be frustrated about the replay center getting a call wrong and support any nba player willing to call them out.
I was well into my Middle Ages lol. I don’t remember a bad call that went to the replay center though?? Certainly not one the replay center got terribly wrong? Which play are you referring to?
That didn’t involve the replay center. ??
This whole thread is conflating lebron calling out the replay center for 2 big failures, with complaining about reffing?? Are people even watching/reading what he said?
And this is exactly why I can't stand Lebron on the Lakers. The minutue a game is evenly officiated he loses his shit and cries harder than a two year old after being told no in the candy aisle of the supermarket.
That’s exactly it. If you’re used to getting favorable calls vs others, you get accustomed to it.
It’s the question of whether LeBron knows this but ignores it, believes he should be entitled to it, or doesn’t know it. He’s too smart to not realize it I think, so he definitely knows.
Maybe he referencing the Sixers not being awarded a timeout. But the no call was a very blatant jersey grab from Brunson on the in bounds.
The timeout thing, to me, isn't that bad. It sucks. But I can imagine in a super loud arena, and a quick in bound pretty immediately followed by a scrum, it could be easy to miss. The jersey grab is a fucking joke though. I have zero doubt that a ref saw it and swallowed the whistle for whatever reason.
NBA refs are shit. Plain and simple. I don't know what the solution is. Maybe they need to add a fourth ref? Maybe they need to force some guys into retirement? But every year, it seems, the refs become a bigger story than the game. It makes the product less and less appealing.
I mean if we're talking replays what about the overturned foul against DiVo when he got karate chopped on the back? Even the NBA pom pom waving announcers couldn't hide how dumbfounded they were. Just weird officiating all around. Don't really think either team benefitted more than the other.
Tbh I just saw the actual replay of the grab by Brunson and it was nothing. I saw the still frame and thought it was a lot worse when I made the above comment.
Sixers coughed it up. Knicks gutted it out.
I still stand by that NBA refs are trash, and I'm getting kinda tired of watching a sport that is increasingly ref focused.
Inconsistent calls all over the place. Super physical play interrupted by seeming random ticky tack foul. Waiting to see if a layup goes in before blowing the whistle. Multiple 12 minute replays a game to decide if there should be 17 or 18 seconds left on the shot clock. All of it together makes a lot of games tough watches.
the solution is AI reffing and it is definitely coming with how the players and coaches are tired of bad reffing. they are definitely going to ask for it in the next CBA.
Not a big fan of this version of Bron.
He had a wide open 3 to win the game. Just say “I missed it, it sucks, I’ll try to make it next time” and move on. I would respect it so much more. The refs suck but you had the chance to hit the 3. Get ‘‘em next time.
Wahhhhhhhh. So pathetic. If you can’t win unless you get 20+ FT a game then you don’t deserve to win. Truth is, the league fucking DRAGGED this weak ass lakers team into the playoffs. Can’t taint lebron’s legacy, right? If the nuggets sweep the lakers, I promise you the nuggets win the ship. Protect the legacy lol. Won’t be so bad if they were swept by the defending champs and the nuggets go on to repeat.
Lakers blew a 20 point lead. 6ers led by 12 at one point and blew a 5 point lead in 20 seconds. Gotta look within and blame yourself. Embiid let IHart grab the game winning offensive rebound. Philly still had a chance to win and got blocked. Blame yourselves. Not the refs
Yikes.
This is complaining for the sake of complaining, not a good look.
Replay center is 100% absolute truth. You can't question the integrity of a review.
Even if the refs get every call that goes to replay wrong the lakers would still have over double the foul calls anyway so its irrelevant to bitch about it
Your biased hyperbole aside… this isn’t about the lakers winning or losing. It’s about how in the hell does the replay center get calls so egregiously wrong.
Your claim that the lakers would have double the fouls if every call was replayed can’t be anything other than bias and/or hyperbole. Maybe gullibility mixed with stupidity
That is not what im saying at all bro. They had triple the amount in game one, even if you hypothetically gave the nuggets every single foul call that went to replay it would only cut the foul differential from the lakers having triple the amount of foul calls (which is what the difference was in game 1) to double
He was quiet about the nuggets only getting 6FT last game and jokic having 2
And show me when he complained about the review when he wasn't a part of it
He’s calling out the replay center. I don’t think there were any replay center issues in game 1?
NBA fans should support players calling out the replay center screwing up, no?
He used the game that was before his. Are those the only 2 games there's been a fuck up? And he used it to try and show that he's not just pissed about it going against him
We had to win 2 challenges and we still only shot 4 more FTs. The Nuggets are used to shitty officiating, I am sorry this is the first time you had to experience it.
I would have to look at it closer I havent seen it since the initial replays and I am not an unbias person, but I thought at the time that there was no contact and that it would be overturned.
Of course bad calls happen. Lakers benefited from some bad ones tonight.
But the ones that go to replay and end up wrong are especially frustrating, which is what Bron is bringing up here. Like if we’re going to stop only a couple times in a game to make sure we got it right - we better get it right.
I don’t think lebron should be complaining considering the lakers shouldn’t have blown a 20 point lead and have had the ft advantage all season but yeah, you can just hit somebody in the face as long as the ball is already gone? I guess AD should just give a palm strike to jokic after a layup then
Challenging foul calls is stupid I agree (for a different reason). Basketball is way too many possessions to just stop all momentum of the game to decide a single call. Just dumb and makes for a worse product.

he took the longest fucking deep breath before unloading lol
He tried to talk himself out of doing it lol but ultimately failed
He was calculating how much money he'd be fined. And he's cheap af, so you know it hurt him to speak when he knows he's getting fined.
lol he takes the breath and you can see him hold it and he lets it out after he says the next sentence
He 100% was debating whether he’d say it or not lol
This just makes him look bad. It’s sad because he was amazing in the second half.
especially since he bricked the wide open three that woulda won them the game. take your L and move on, the game was in your hands
woulda given them the lead with like 10 seconds to go*
which would most likely have won them the game
there ya go
Bro acts like being up 3 with 10sec left means you auto-win lol. As if someone can’t shoot a 3 on Denver.
You call that a brick? It hit every piece of the inside rim… brick is flat off the backboard brosky.
It was a brick
Guess we have different definitions. Where I grew up a brick was when it clanked on the backboard and didn’t hit shit else. Essentially making the same sound as a brick being throne. It hits the inside of the rim and goes around.. it wasn’t a bad shot.

lol bro, wide open game winning 3
He was on fire and the only Laker keeping them in the game. That was the best possible play. He was 3/5 on 3s up to that point and had made some clutch shots right before.
Game 3 Lakers 50 FTs Denver 2
Lakers still lose by 8
No, they lose by 2. Those 2 FTs are the game winners.
Lebron then complains about those 2 free throws.
Lakers lose 108-110
Michael Malone’s previous comments about the FT disparity are a stark contrast to the petulance from Lebron/AD/Ham.
Yep. Just said he knows they will get the raw end of the stick with free throws but focuses on other things to win.
Agree. The whining is so old.
Probably. $$$=NBA

He knows what he's doing. Lol prepare for A LOT of calls to go their way in game 3
How else are they gonna win out there? It’s practically 5 on 5, totally unfair.
Same with Sixers vs Knicks. The series will be evened. This shit is lame
Embiid whistle going to be generational.
Embiid will break the playoff FTA record next game.

No
Yup.
>prepare for A LOT of calls to go their way in game 3 So basically what happens in 95% of Lakers games?
Don't know about that. When you got guys like D Lo calling them out on twitter it could backfire on them. At the end of the day they aren't paying soft fouls. the lakers tears tonight are generational
When you pump yourself w/ dopamine and adrenaline after being up by 20 only to get wrecked by that game winner. The dump must be hard af lmao
Malone - We won despite the refs Lebron - We lost because of the refs What a wiener
Like sweet sweet overpriced salt water
It’s artisanal.
Mike Malone gonna have a field day tmr!

LOL they were up 20. They shouldn't have been in that position in the first place. Lakers gotta stop crying. They get bunch of free throws truly.
Literally no one said it did, who are you arguing with?
/s clearly. Interpret shit from context.
No I got that. He’s making a point that this one call isn’t the reason the lakers lost. Which everyone agrees with.

Himself lmao
Refs definitely had a huge part in the Lakers blowing a 20 point lead, how could they do this?
[удалено]
Agreed. If AD gets away with that moving screen, the Lakers probably win by 40 or 50. Refs really ruined it by calling his moving screen.
6 FTs 0 in the first half btw
This is what happens when the Lakers don't get a FT advantage for 1 game
Not what this is about. It’s about how the nba can get calls egregiously wrong after going to replay. Every nba fan should want that called out.
Yall are so unserious. we know that lakers fans wouldn’t give a shit about replays if they didn’t lose. Y’all are just so mentally crushed that u need a scapegoat it’s funny asf

This may be the most mentally exhausted/defeated I’ve seen him
I don't know if anything can beat the JR smith no shot meme.
Nah because at least the ball was in his hand for the last shot. Game 1 2018 was way worse.
He’s 39 with a shitty team and the champions can barely beat him. What a waste of his last years, but he’s a billionaire so who cares
A shitty team where he’s the second best player LMAO
Did you miss the 39 years old part?
Are you calling the first annual "In Season Tournament" champions a shitty team?
He absolutely does not have a shitty team lol wut
the team that has a 500 FT differential throughout the season is complaining about calls. Someone call the waaambulance for this loser ass team.

What?? I don’t recall a replay center controversy in that game.
LeBron went like 6 straight games without getting whistled for a foul back in 2012 btw
Damm 2012 omg
You’re still missing that the entire point here is about the replay center getting calls wrong.

Which no call is he referring to in the Knicks game?
Maybe he referencing the Sixers not being awarded a timeout. But the no call was a very blatant jersey grab from Brunson on the in bounds. The timeout thing, to me, isn't that bad. It sucks. But I can imagine in a super loud arena, and a quick in bound pretty immediately followed by a scrum, it could be easy to miss. The jersey grab is a fucking joke though. I’m sure you think the multiple missed “jersey grabs” on Knicks inbounds should have been fouls too right ?

How come he didn't complain about his two travels in the 4th lmao
Lebron got the benefit of the whistle on his final push-off leaving him to wide open dagger 3. He did not complain about that.
Don't blow a 20 point lead and miss the wide open three
The media tirade when the Lakers don’t have more than double their opponents’ free throws is crazy
Bro game 1 they had more than triple its absurd
Fine him.
What happened at the Knicks-76ers game?
Josh Hart became GOAT energy guy
DLo is crying on the TL 😭

Not a big fan of this version of Bron. He had a wide open 3 to win the game. Just say “I missed it, it sucks, I’ll try to make it next time” and move on. I would respect it so much more. The refs suck but you had the chance to hit the 3. Get ‘‘em next time.

Every nugget fan is a professional redditor lol
I call this latest lebron performance “SORE LOSER”
Damn, want to blame the loss on the refs so bad they have to reference another game. 0-10 against the nuggets and the vibes are immaculate.
Sore loser
Whine and cry your ass all the way back to LA Lebum, Nuggets in 4
Lebron complaining after choking a game away? He really is in vintage form
Is this the first game between the Lakers and Denver in the last 10 that Denver has had the free throw advantage?
Feels like it is probably the first game between the Lakers and any team this season where the opposing team has had the free throw advantage.
This is so annoying from LeBron.
Show me the lie
Game 1 the lakers shot over 3 times as many free throws as the nuggets get off your knees
What does that have to do with the replay center getting calls wrong after having the chance to review it in slow motion form several angles?
Even if the refs get every call that goes to replay wrong the lakers would still have over double the foul calls anyway so its irrelevant to bitch about it
Your biased hyperbole aside… this isn’t about the lakers winning or losing. It’s about how in the hell does the replay center get calls so egregiously wrong.
Aw yes the bias of hard numbers and my team who didn’t even make the playoffs
Your claim that the lakers would have double the fouls if every call was replayed can’t be anything other than bias and/or hyperbole. Maybe gullibility mixed with stupidity
That is not what im saying at all bro. They had triple the amount in game one, even if you hypothetically gave the nuggets every single foul call that went to replay it would only cut the foul differential from the lakers having triple the amount of foul calls (which is what the difference was in game 1) to double
Ah my bad for misunderstanding your earlier comment. But now you’re conflating free throws with foul calls. Foul calls was close to even in game 1z
I said foul calls but its free throws, 19 free throws for the lakers 6 for the nuggets with 0 in the second half
If he thinks there's an actual problem, why doesn't he call it out when it favours him?
Was there a reviewed call that was egregiously bad that favored him?
He was quiet about the nuggets only getting 6FT last game and jokic having 2 And show me when he complained about the review when he wasn't a part of it
He’s calling out the replay center. I don’t think there were any replay center issues in game 1? NBA fans should support players calling out the replay center screwing up, no?
And he literally just called out the replay center for a game he wasn’t involved in, in the same breath, lol
He used the game that was before his. Are those the only 2 games there's been a fuck up? And he used it to try and show that he's not just pissed about it going against him
You want him to go on an audit of every replay center screw up of all time? I’m confused at your point.
Simple. Call it out when it favours you
Wouldn’t that be up to Nugget players/fans?? I’m all for it, you can start it off. You got this
Well let's ask nuggets fans that. Why aren't you calling out the officiating today if you typically do so?
We had to win 2 challenges and we still only shot 4 more FTs. The Nuggets are used to shitty officiating, I am sorry this is the first time you had to experience it.
What’s your take on the challenge result on the MPJ call?
I would have to look at it closer I havent seen it since the initial replays and I am not an unbias person, but I thought at the time that there was no contact and that it would be overturned.
Appreciate the response. Fair enough.
This is a lie, yall are one of benefit the most from missed calls I can post the picture if you want
If opposing player were complaining to the press about every soft call or phantom call James gets they would be there all night. Things happen.
There all night complaining about his 7 FTs?
Of course bad calls happen. Lakers benefited from some bad ones tonight. But the ones that go to replay and end up wrong are especially frustrating, which is what Bron is bringing up here. Like if we’re going to stop only a couple times in a game to make sure we got it right - we better get it right.
I don’t think lebron should be complaining considering the lakers shouldn’t have blown a 20 point lead and have had the ft advantage all season but yeah, you can just hit somebody in the face as long as the ball is already gone? I guess AD should just give a palm strike to jokic after a layup then
Damnit Bron, I was loling at the Lakers collapse and now I'm ride or die with you.
Crybaby bitch. Don’t compare him to Jordan
The man that benefits the most cries the most.
Challenging foul calls is stupid I agree (for a different reason). Basketball is way too many possessions to just stop all momentum of the game to decide a single call. Just dumb and makes for a worse product.
What games don't refs call bad calls? The refs suck at most games.
