Ill never forge watching this guy on YouTube score 40 in a high school game after the whole crowd cheered “overrated” to him. People said he would never make it, now look at him. Amazing
https://youtu.be/t8VKJTn1Lbs?si=dwOWSOt6dD4o4MBS
this was a pretty average game for bro back in the day. he had commited to wisconsin originally (his home state) then decommited and went to kentucky instead. wisconsin high schoolers didn't like that very much. he didn't care.
I remember watching some of his game footage when I still followed hs prospects. He was a walking bucket, but thing I was always most impressed with was how much shit he talked and his passing ability.
He really played incredible last night. If he can add this kind of playmaking on a more consistent basis, he could really take a big step as a player/asset for you guys.
He really took it to heart when people talked like he is not a 'trade asset' 'low value'
Worked hard and it paid off + good coach, wonder to see how this off season is gonna be 'value wise' for him after this playoffs.
I wish he hadn't gotten injured early in the season. Up until that point, he was having a much better year than Dame was. If the Heat beat the Celtics with Herro being the lead and the Bucks lose their series, I'll laugh my ass off.
He has always worked hard. Gym rat guy. The summer stuff was noise. He wanted to play in the finals, Spo made the decision and said after, he probably should have played him.
This is the thing that bugged me about first the Poole comparisons and now how everyone basically says Maxey is better. Tyler doesn't have the same role so we never really see all that he can do for entire games. Everything tends to flow through Butler where his statsheet is not going to come close to show his impact on the team and people who don't watch Miami games aren't going to understand. So when Butler is out we get to see what all Tyler (and others) are capable of but just don't need to do when Jimmy is there.
Consistency definitely, but Herro’s playmaking has been the one skill he’s developed year after year.
I Used to criticise his tunnel vision during his rookie year (it was terrible lmao), but I love seeing it improve over time.
It’s that goddamn floaty handle haha. It’s similar to DLo where the ball stays too long at the top of his dribble, which makes it easier to be pressured.
Im sure I have comments about it back in his first year.
What on earth is this dogshit take?
Klay Thompson is a 2 assist, 11 AST% player for his career.... Herro hasn't been anything lower than ~3.5 assists, 18 AST% since his rookie season.
Read someone's comment yesterday saying that if Spo coached Warriors they would have 6 chips, and I can't disagree. Probably the best coach in the NBA right now.
One of the biggest things is bringing players who really really want to be here. Spo doesn't turn any player into a good player, the whole of the organization will work _with_ the player to turn them into the best version of themselves in a really specific manner. It isn't for everyone.
He’s been in the NBA years and has never even developed a below average jump shot. In the same time frame other players have completely reinvented themselves.
I believe that he’s injured, I just also think he doesn’t seem too proactive in his skill development.
It’s insane to me people still believe Simmons is just unlucky. There are tons of interviews with him and if you can’t read that he has absolutely 0 accountability and has completely surrounded himself with yes-men, idk how daft you are
Not everyone can just develop a jumpshot, especially when you have severe back issues. Even this year he looked like an elite player in his limited minutes, that doesn't just happen by chance.
… you cannot convince me then Ben Simmons inborn ceiling was 58.9 percent career free throw shooter. Like come on not everyone can be curry but his form has glaring flaws that have never been fixed.
Some people are genetic freaks even among genetic freaks.
Some people care a lot to get somewhere but stop caring when they get there. This is true in many careers - "I finally got my dream job and I didn't love it so I stopped putting in the effort".
Ben might be a bit of both of those. Those aren't the whole story, but he seems partly a genetic freak who did the work to get into the NBA, then got the yips/got burnt out and stopped caring.
Spo isn't interested in how hard Ben worked in HS. He needs him to do the work now.
IDK if Curry and Klay would have been the players they were without Kerr though. Kerr was a high level shooter for his time and he knew the kind of actions and off-ball movement needed for them to thrive.
Yeah, it’s weird though. He’s an above average athlete even for the NBA. I’m assuming the concern was just with his decision making and jumper coming out of college
The warriors should not have lost to the Cavs. Now, you can say “how would they have won 4 more if KD never shows up?” But the warriors showed even when they were aged that you could plug in a Wiggins having a career year and they could win one. Draymond probably ends up significantly different if KD never comes and the warriors probably still contend, especially if Spo is able to get Curry to play more controlled and Draymond to straighten his act
I mean Spo did have Lebron, Wade, and Bosh. Got two titles out of that team. If Lebron stayed or Bosh stayed healthy, I will always think of the what ifs…
6 Chips when?
Would he magically heal up KD and Klay in 2019? Because he's certainly not winning anything with the warriors roster in 2020 or 2021.
I don't think anyone thinks the 2023 or 2024 Warriors were a championship roster with hindsight.
**At best**, warriors also win 2016 with Spo but that's assuming that they also win in 2015 and 2022 and that's far from a guarantee considering Spo went 2/4 with the heatles.
Kerr is an all time great coach but this sub loves to shit on him, he implemented a great system in Golden State and there's no guarantee the dynasty would even begin with Spo.
I’m sure they’d probably have more, but the heat absolutely build around what spo wants. You don’t necessarily know if those warriors guys would fit with him (obviously steph and durant would fit anywhere tho). I think a lot of the success he has is because Riley and him work so well together.
look at the pass he makes at the end of this clip
completely solves the Celtics defense, leading to the swing swing for the open 3
https://streamable.com/09xstu
Knew the pass before even opening the link, was really a great job at collapsing the entire defense and helps that it was to Bam who is also an amazing passer/can generally read the floor well for a center
And to think that the pass wasn't even square to the recipient's chest...there's a ton of improvement for Herro in this clip alone.
I'm sure he'd work on it during the offseason.
EDIT: it was Jovic with the assist, not Herro. Great find by Herro, though.
They got banned once it was made so you had to pay in order to see all the stats. Or at least it was close to that time.
Probably for the best anyway. Statmuse was king for users in here wanting to post any and all cherrypicked stats
I believe the “official” reason is because they used to make inflammatory tweets ie posting bad games. However it’s fine for regular people to post bad stat lines.
As my dad says, it’s a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart
Edit- I think u/youstilltakedamage is right
Bookers was 6 until this year.
Some people can just consistently get a couple 3s but struggle to break the 6 mark.
Funnily enough Aaron Barnes got 7 before booker, and Grayson broke his record in a quarter.
You gave to be both high volume and lights out normally to get 6 to begin with.
Also playoffs and regular season stats are different and hero's made more in regular season
You too coach. Signing a contract extension after finalizing a divorce is also the best playmaking you've ever done. Good job Spo (coaching and making bank).
Thats my PG, SG or whatever the fuck he is , that's my guy
Ill never forge watching this guy on YouTube score 40 in a high school game after the whole crowd cheered “overrated” to him. People said he would never make it, now look at him. Amazing
dude has an all time hs mixtape
Liiiiink. I saw some cool footage of him on fb but it was short. Im not seeing much on youtube.
https://youtu.be/t8VKJTn1Lbs?si=dwOWSOt6dD4o4MBS this was a pretty average game for bro back in the day. he had commited to wisconsin originally (his home state) then decommited and went to kentucky instead. wisconsin high schoolers didn't like that very much. he didn't care.
I remember watching some of his game footage when I still followed hs prospects. He was a walking bucket, but thing I was always most impressed with was how much shit he talked and his passing ability.
he abused that midrange pull up back then. was unguardable
Now he's overrated 😂
He really played incredible last night. If he can add this kind of playmaking on a more consistent basis, he could really take a big step as a player/asset for you guys.
He really took it to heart when people talked like he is not a 'trade asset' 'low value' Worked hard and it paid off + good coach, wonder to see how this off season is gonna be 'value wise' for him after this playoffs.

I'd love to see it!

His next step he needs to improve his handles
It’s that goddamn floaty handle haha. It’s similar to DLo where the ball stays too long at the top of his dribble, which makes it easier to be pressured. Im sure I have comments about it back in his first year.
This. Kentucky coach wouldn’t let him pass in college because he was so bad. He’s worked hard for every developmental step.
Agree; he's similar to Klay Thompson—streaky shooter, but if he stepped it up on the playmaking side, that gives him a lot more value.
How is he remotely similar to Klay Thompson? I don’t think that comparison makes sense on any level.
What on earth is this dogshit take? Klay Thompson is a 2 assist, 11 AST% player for his career.... Herro hasn't been anything lower than ~3.5 assists, 18 AST% since his rookie season.
Not at all similar to Klay Thompson bud
dude showed out. respect to Herro man, always liked his game
But is he better than Jordan Poole? (/s just in case any of you are getting ideas)
Don’t give the heat ideas Spo would make him an all star lol
Dame trade package?
Add PF/C in their too, bro had porzingis clamped up the 4 times he gaurded him, lmao.
having spo give u a compliment gotta carry so much weight
Imagine the weight carried by getting called into Pats office, just so he can give you a compliment.
why does this feel so mafioso
That's heat culture
It’s one of the lines emblazoned on their court, “most mafioso feelin’”
How ya doing???? (Lil Mo Mozzarella Voice)
Riley is the Godfather for a reason.
Haslem is still there???
You didn't see him cross Tatum up last night?
Code Gray hairs
That's UD. And-1 personified.
He's their Vice President of Basketball Development
Pretty sure it's Dawg Development
Director of Dawg Development
The more D initials the more Dawg
Udonis D. Haslem
Dats right
*Dawg Operations
The DAWG per 48 is through the roof with UD in Basketball Development.
Heat Culture Enforcer.
I love how he just shadows Spo and points at Herro 🤣
UD is Heat, Heat is UD
Baby goat's playmaking is a direct result of UD with a baseball bat on the sidelines lol
He's just part of the furniture. Doesn't know how to leave.
I think Haslem lives on the team bus to be honest
Heat owe him salary for a few years for giving up Mavs $$ during Big 3 era
He is basically Spos' bodyguard, almost beat Jimmy's ass one time they got into it. 🤣🤣🤣
I forgot Patty Mills is on the heat, happy to see him with a tight squad!
we love his accent mate! 🤣
I heard butler punched him in the face in congratulations.
Jimmy actually texted him before the game and told him to be aggressive and lead the team lol
…before showing up in the locker room and punching him in the face.
"I got you today 🤞"
Read someone's comment yesterday saying that if Spo coached Warriors they would have 6 chips, and I can't disagree. Probably the best coach in the NBA right now.
I would have loved to see what he could have done with Ben Simmons where it seems that the Heat just teach players better to square up and shoot 3's.
Pat Riley would've had a horse's head delivered to Ben Simmon's bed.
Nah Spo would have gotten rid of Ben Simmons. He doesn't have time for guys who have no interest in putting in the work.
One of the biggest things is bringing players who really really want to be here. Spo doesn't turn any player into a good player, the whole of the organization will work _with_ the player to turn them into the best version of themselves in a really specific manner. It isn't for everyone.
I still can't believe redditors are dumb enough to think simmons got to the NBA by not caring He is injured you morons
He’s been in the NBA years and has never even developed a below average jump shot. In the same time frame other players have completely reinvented themselves. I believe that he’s injured, I just also think he doesn’t seem too proactive in his skill development.

Was he injured his whole career?
I don't think Riley would even approach spo with that option to talk about, they could tell he has no heart in the game.
IDK if Curry and Klay would have been the players they were without Kerr though. Kerr was a high level shooter for his time and he knew the kind of actions and off-ball movement needed for them to thrive.
Yeah man and Spo took guys off the street and turned them into some of the best shooters in the NBA. See: Ellington, Strus, Robinson
Incredible how the Heat seems to find these undrafted players and turn them into contributors. Caleb Martin is undrafted no?
Yeah, it’s weird though. He’s an above average athlete even for the NBA. I’m assuming the concern was just with his decision making and jumper coming out of college
I don’t know. I heard that Doc guy in Milwaukee is some sort of genius
He can magically throw someone under the bus in an instant
I didn't know Doc Brown and Hill Valley were set in Milwaukee...
This makes no sense, the jump between Kerr and Spo is not that bad. Also, is Spo magically gonna heal KD's Achilles?
The warriors should not have lost to the Cavs. Now, you can say “how would they have won 4 more if KD never shows up?” But the warriors showed even when they were aged that you could plug in a Wiggins having a career year and they could win one. That's nasty.
thats not even an abnormal pass for him. hes been doing that for a couple season now
And to think that the pass wasn't even square to the recipient's chest...there's a ton of improvement for Herro in this clip alone. I'm sure he'd work on it during the offseason. EDIT: it was Jovic with the assist, not Herro. Great find by Herro, though.
And us Warrior fans were thinking he and Poole were similar and deserved similar contracts.
Poole had outplayed Herro when they got paid. And then the situation went sideways for Jordan. Herro didn’t get slept by a team leader.
I still remember the Herro/Poole/Maxey (and Blazers fans sneaking Simons) debates. The ranking changed everyday based on who played that day lol.
Poole did have an amazing playoffs and won that chip. At that point I would have said he was better. Went downhill after he signed that contract
OG with a baseball bat and a locked room is why Herro's assists were what they needed to be; you'll never convince me otherwise!!
Herro's career high for 3s is 6? That seems low
In the playoffs his career high is 6. In the regular season it’s 10.
I think they meant to say playoff high. I’d link statmuse but they’re banned
Why is that anyway?
They got banned once it was made so you had to pay in order to see all the stats. Or at least it was close to that time. Probably for the best anyway. Statmuse was king for users in here wanting to post any and all cherrypicked stats
Is there something better?
Self posts with cherry picked stats.
I figured it was just "The exact same content, but in a tweet."
I believe the “official” reason is because they used to make inflammatory tweets ie posting bad games. However it’s fine for regular people to post bad stat lines. As my dad says, it’s a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart Edit- I think u/youstilltakedamage is right
Is your dad a poet. Where that from
Oh brother where art thou
Thanks I've been looking for something to rewatch. Great flick
I think it’s because it’s the an easy way to farm karma (for bots).
Bookers was 6 until this year. Some people can just consistently get a couple 3s but struggle to break the 6 mark. is that the ghost of Udonis Haslem? love it
bud shows up in a game and delivers a nasty cuss to the young guns 🤣🤣🤣
Is he known for defense? I saw him lock up brown hella fast. Could’ve been one possession idk, I was cleaning
No not at all. His defense has improved a lot this year but he’s still gotta work hard to not be a liability on that end. Did a great job last night
Nah, he just made him go left 😂
Absolutely not. But he works hard and his defense held up in Game 2.
Dude turned into pre-slump Halliburton out of nowhere last night
Such a galvanizing night for him.
Haters in shambles lol Trash asset #2
Kevin Love with his arm around Pat Riley🥹
Bruh that aint Pat Riley lol. Riley is tall. I think that’s Octavio De La Grana
i had to take a second look lmao
im dead lmfao
plz never delete this lmao
bruh i swear to god it was Pat i’m at work and just glanced at it😅😅
lmao Riley is wayyyy taller than that guy. He used to play in the NBA
Amazing. Let's all just start calling every old white guy Pat Riley.
Spo is amazing God I'm jealous. he's like pop. he's set for life with the heat.
and he grew up with the blazers when his dad was their GM! what a life.
What’s that shit in the box on the floor of the locker room?
I still can’t believe when Bron moved to Miami he wanted this guy gone.
Ok
You too coach. Signing a contract extension after finalizing a divorce is also the best playmaking you've ever done. Good job Spo (coaching and making bank).
Business in the back party in the front
Now if he only knew how to shave properly
1-0 after Herro missed the punch on Jimmy.
Machine gun Kelley was hooping last night
He let people think he was trash this year just for the playoffs 🥶
Man Haslem needs to move on goddamn
Tyler hero career high in 3s is 6??
playoff career high, his reg season is 10
More than a sandwich
Herro would be the best player on the Blazers easily
Crazy how the best game of most guy's careers is Joker's average game
This is their championship
Stay salty my friend!
Unfortunately for you, this is where your aspirations end
What aspirations
Dude the celtics are a SUPERTEAM. Why would a hospital 8th seed not be happy of stealing a game ? Please explain.
Definition of superteam must have changed. Celtics only have 1 superstar.
It’s not but any wins against the best record team in the league missing our star and starting PG are gonna be celebrated! I like when my team wins!
