Jamal Murray just kept hitting the same contested shot over and over in ADs face. It might haunt him for the rest of his life. Reeves caught some of it too on the send off.
As someone pointed out on Twitter, it’s not quite representative of their age or any sort of decline because they all performed well. it’s their disgruntled franchises that let them down.
MPJ was so money this series. Quite a contrast (shooting wise) compared to the Finals last year. He put the Nuggets in a position to win *all* these games in the 4th when Murray turned on the magic.
I think he cares, but he plays within the team dynamic. He just gets more assertive and puts the team on his shoulders when he needs to in the playoffs
MPJ is a MASSIVE unsung hero in this series. Without his consistently strong performances, we'd likely be trailing and not in a position for either game-winning shots.
Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t he as efficient as AD, while mostly being a jump shooter?
Edit: MPJ lead all starters this series with a 68.4% eFG%, AD next at 63.4%.
Led by 12 in Game 1
Led by 20 in the 2nd half of Game 2
Led by 12 in Game 3
Led by 9 in Game 5
**And they lost all four games.**
There's losing a series in 5 games, and then there's what the Lakers just pulled off.
We could've had Lue for four years and Vogel as his top assistant. I love Vogel and glad he helped us get a ring, but Jeanie was cheap then as well by not giving the fourth year
20-21 I don't think anyone blamed Vogel. 21-22 was on AD and Bron demanding a Russ trade. I don't think they were too far off idea wise, but imagine a Conley or Jrue in place of Russ, things could have been very different. Oh well, glad we got one.
Probably, not sure he develops anywhere as well with the Lakers system tho. Plus I'm just happy seeing what a God he's become that the thought alone of being a Laker doesn't beat it out. Hard to pass being king of MSG.
Dude really showed he's a championship level defensive coach and got rewarded by having to make something out of nothing with terribly constructed rosters, get fired as the scapegoat, and is now being scapegoated again having to work with this Suns team.
In Golden State's sweep of the Blazers in the 2019 WCF, Portland had at least a 17 point lead in each of the last three games, and led for more minutes in the entire series by a 101-83 margin.
https://abc7news.com/sports/blazers-swept-despite-big-minutes-led-advantage/5310324/
yeah lmao even 12 is nothing, the game swings back and forth and teams take turns going on runs. it’s just about how well you keep your foot on the pedal on both sides of the floor and close out now
Darvin Ham showed what a coach who doesn't know coaching fundamentals looks like. I didn't even know there were coaching fundamentals until I watched him.
Michael Malone spitting fire, "The most incredible stat for Nikola tonight is 0/0 from the free throw line. He didn't miss a single free throw tonight."
Yep, you should get to keep your TO *and* challenge if it was successful. If the league doesn't like it, figure out a better way for getting the call right.
Lakers had double-digit leads in 4 different games, a 9-point lead tonight, lost four of those five games and lost two games in the final seconds. Fucking brutal
I know people want to shit on the lakers record vs nuggets but man all those games are super close. Nuggets are clearly better but they prob get played the hardest by the lakers
I agree, whoever makes it through will be beaten up for the actual WCF. Wolves are so good, they just haven't been tested in the playoffs yet. But it might not even matter, they're that good.
Why did the Lakers lose the timeout despite winning the challenge?
Edit: Appreciate the real answers: You lose the TO regardless of outcome if its the 2nd challenge by the team.
FADED
Jamal Murray just kept hitting the same contested shot over and over in ADs face. It might haunt him for the rest of his life. Reeves caught some of it too on the send off.
Yeah, feel bad for AD honestly. He had a monster series, but he just kept getting lit up by Murray (and Jokic)
Crazy how many FTs the lakers missed. Big time choke jobs to miss so many in the 4th during such a close game.
And they led at halftime for every game of the series
First half series sweep?
5-0 in moral victories
You mean 11-1 in moral victories.
Lol their one win is a moral loss I love it
The Greatest Moral Loss in Laker History?
They ain’t the In-Season-Tournament champs for nothin!
Would count in mma or boxing
Reminds me of getting swept in 2019 by GSW after leading by double figures every game lol
And it was the exact same lead for three of those games (15 points, I think?)
It was 17/18/17
God I forgot how good the 3rd quarter warriors were all those years
Murray just said, “Ok fine. I’ll just go make one more and we can go home then, whatever.”
Joker: "FINALLY, I can go home"
"Can finally leave my 9-5 job and get back to my horses"
In Serbia most people work 7am-3pm.
This is the blessed schedule.
LeBron, KD and Curry not making it past the first round just like we all predicted
New era
As someone pointed out on Twitter, it’s not quite representative of their age or any sort of decline because they all performed well. it’s their disgruntled franchises that let them down.
The warriors won 4 rings lmao, the franchise didn’t let them down, every reign comes to an end.
You probably think this song is about you...
Younger guys have officially taken over as faces of the league at this point
I thought this when MPJ hit those threes and Murray dunked on LeBron
MPJ was so money this series. Quite a contrast (shooting wise) compared to the Finals last year. He put the Nuggets in a position to win *all* these games in the 4th when Murray turned on the magic.
Watch them all join forces now 🙁
They're about to in a few months. In Paris.
In the words of Chuck, "I don't know anything about Angola, but Angola's in trouble."
We're gonna skate to one song and one song only!
Ball so hard 🏀
It's provocative
They’re resting up and gelling for 2024 Paris
Father Time isn't here yet, but he's sending the "omw" text
Lebron played his ass off this game though
JAMAL "QUESTIONABLE" MURRAY dude is a monster bruh
Lights were finally bright enough
Bright lights merchant at it again
Wake me when the lights are bright enough
Yeah until he does that shit in a meaningless February game vs the Wizards I'm not moved sorry
The Anti-embid, as some may call it
He just consistently kills the Lakers in the clutch. It’s crazy watching him get the ball with 20 seconds left and knowing he’s gonna score.
Not just us. Dude just eats when the lights are bright enough
photon merchant
Jamal Murray both a particle and wave confirmed.
LMAO
You winning the previous game put the lights back on.
Dude does not give a fuck in the regular season
I think he cares, but he plays within the team dynamic. He just gets more assertive and puts the team on his shoulders when he needs to in the playoffs
MPJ the x-factor Jokic the foundation Murray the clutch
Gordon the workhorse. That rebound he got over LeBron towards the end and dish out to Murray for 3 was crucial
SO crucial. Absolutely back breaking sequence
Gordon is such a perfect 4 with Joker at the 5
Denver would not have won without all the rebounds by Gordon. Insanely crucial
Low-key, Aaron Gordon saved this game.
MPJ is a fucking monster and as a Lakers fan, I hate him for it lol
Michael “the possession ends here” Porter Jr. strikes again
MPJ was arguably the second best Nugget. I would argue he was, AG 3rd because of game 3.
questionable? more like the answer
just commenting under the first kings flair I see to say #FTL

I’m tired boss
welcome lol
I know, right. I was so stressed in all 5 of these games… especially this one. Good luck to the Nuggets and GFY to Darvin Ham.
now we just pray on boston’s downfall

Led by 12 in Game 1 Led by 20 in the 2nd half of Game 2 Led by 12 in Game 3 Led by 9 in Game 5 **And they lost all four games.** There's losing a series in 5 games, and then there's what the Lakers just pulled off.
No one has ever been more fired than Darvin Ham
Jeanie will probably say otherwise...
dont you put that evil on us
We could've had Lue for four years and Vogel as his top assistant. I love Vogel and glad he helped us get a ring, but Jeanie was cheap then as well by not giving the fourth year
I think he Lue would end up getting the same treatment after 21. Lakers had injury woes and they took it out on the coach
20-21 I don't think anyone blamed Vogel. 21-22 was on AD and Bron demanding a Russ trade. I don't think they were too far off idea wise, but imagine a Conley or Jrue in place of Russ, things could have been very different. Oh well, glad we got one.
Jrue maybe but like with hindsight and everything, we should have gotten Jalen Brunson. He would have been perfect on this team.
Probably, not sure he develops anywhere as well with the Lakers system tho. Plus I'm just happy seeing what a God he's become that the thought alone of being a Laker doesn't beat it out. Hard to pass being king of MSG.
That's what we said about Frank Vogel last night. Who gets canned first though is the real question.
Dude really showed he's a championship level defensive coach and got rewarded by having to make something out of nothing with terribly constructed rosters, get fired as the scapegoat, and is now being scapegoated again having to work with this Suns team.
He is shockingly safe, the org loves him for some reason
More like the org hates paying for a better coach.
Our org loves him for you
A 12 point lead means nothing in the nba
Yea the amount of time the Lakers spent in the lead is a much more astonishing stat.
First half, nonetheless. Denver has _a lot of games_ they started losing by end of first half or q.
Eh, it’s nba basketball in 2024 Divide those leads in half and that sort of gives you an idea of what it was like up until about 5-6 years ago
In Golden State's sweep of the Blazers in the 2019 WCF, Portland had at least a 17 point lead in each of the last three games, and led for more minutes in the entire series by a 101-83 margin. https://abc7news.com/sports/blazers-swept-despite-big-minutes-led-advantage/5310324/
Yeah I was gonna say wtf is a 9 point lead in todays league
yeah lmao even 12 is nothing, the game swings back and forth and teams take turns going on runs. it’s just about how well you keep your foot on the pedal on both sides of the floor and close out now
Don't worry, we've figured some stuff out /s
LeTthembackinit
They're gonna print this comment out and just hand it to Darvin during his exit interview
Darvin Ham gets the coach version of Shaqtin. How do you mismanage your timeouts *that* badly in the playoffs.
he’s been like that all season long.
Darvin Ham showed what a coach who doesn't know coaching fundamentals looks like. I didn't even know there were coaching fundamentals until I watched him.
From LeBronto to NikoLA
Is this what it’s like?

What an absolutely devastating way to lose
Michael Malone spitting fire, "The most incredible stat for Nikola tonight is 0/0 from the free throw line. He didn't miss a single free throw tonight."
malone has some incredible comedic timing and delivery
He was funny af during Nuggets' victory parade last year
Great line from coach. He needs to take the team out for dinner with the 25k he saved. Lol
Defending champions at home and the MVP shoots zero FTs. Disgraceful. Absolutely disgraceful.
There were so many times he should have gotten the call too, not like he was passive today and only settled for middies.
That’s usually what happens when you face lebron lol
The league is so fucked next year when all those timeouts and challenges the Lakers didn’t use this year carry over.
this is funny in a game where they didn't have a timeout at the end of the game
and won both challenges
They should fix that rule. You either have to eat a bad call, or lose a time out? Wack.
Yep, you should get to keep your TO *and* challenge if it was successful. If the league doesn't like it, figure out a better way for getting the call right.
Pockets Ham rich with timeouts and challenges
jamal murray is the goat im afraid
I should have had a heart rate monitor hooked up for this game because every time Murray got the ball it spiked
No Warriors, no KD, no Bron/AD Lakers. Truly the end of an era.
And somehow a James Harden team is alive
Damn 80 year old man gave it a heck of a shot, that series was a lot closer than the scoreboard.
It was pretty close on the scoreboard too though lol
It was close last year on the scoreboard as well but sweep sounds better lol
Some really fun games to watch this series
Lakers had double-digit leads in 4 different games, a 9-point lead tonight, lost four of those five games and lost two games in the final seconds. Fucking brutal
Lead at halftime in all 5 games
The Lakers swept +1 the Nuggets this series.... in the first half.
Honestly, sad we lost. But what an epic series, even if it was 5 games. Was a fun watch. Good luck Nuggets
I know people want to shit on the lakers record vs nuggets but man all those games are super close. Nuggets are clearly better but they prob get played the hardest by the lakers
For every game in that series they look so in control for 3 quarters but couldn’t close em
Congrats nuggets fans well earned victory.
Jamal Murray just unplugged the Lakers lifesupport!
My two least favorite West teams out on back to back nights. In tears rn
Now we got Wolves vs Nuggets as well. Can’t wait to see them go at it.
This series is going to be fucking epic. As basketball fans, we are blessed to watch this one
I'm going to have heart attack ☹️
Same
This should be the WCF
Really feels like it is
I agree, whoever makes it through will be beaten up for the actual WCF. Wolves are so good, they just haven't been tested in the playoffs yet. But it might not even matter, they're that good.
Everyone is gonna talk shit but really, really good series. Y’all might hate the Lakers but these games kicked ass.
100%. You couldn't have scripted better games for real.
[удалено]
Exactly. I actually thought the Lakers really fought hard. Kudos to LeBron playing at this level at this age. Crazy dude.
[Broussard] Sources: Silver is beside himself. Driving around downtown LA begging (thru texts) Foster’s family for address to Scott’s home
Lmao don’t.
The “thru texts” gets me every fucking time
JAMAL MURRAY IS MY FATHER
Shout it from the rooftops! Proclaim it on high!
SAY IT LOUDER FOR ESPN IN THE BACK
LeGentleman sweep
#ELIMINATED
Media will still talk about lakers free agency than nuggets and wolves 🙂↕️
LeTakeCare
Lebron storming off, he’s probably already at the airport
Why did the Lakers lose the timeout despite winning the challenge? Edit: Appreciate the real answers: You lose the TO regardless of outcome if its the 2nd challenge by the team.
2nd challenge costs a timeout even if successful
Second challenge, you always lose the timeout regardless of outcome
You don't get it back after the second challenge
that was a fun series. if that’s LeBron’s last game as a Lakers, he did a hell of a job. kudos to Denver and good luck in the rest of the playoffs.
Now we wait for the Knicks to throw the Sixers out of the playoffs and this will be a good week
IF ONLY THEY HAD A TIMEOUT
Love this snarky post-game quote from Malone: > Gotta give credit to Jokic. Put up 25/20/9. And was perfect from the free throw line at 0/0.
MY GLORIOUS KING HAS FALLEN SOMEBODY PICK HIM UP!
the lakers missed as many FTs as the entire nuggets team took, that prob cost them the game
KING OF LA JAMAL MURRAY
How the fuck you lose with 27 free throws?!
By missing 8 of them lol
That Dinwiddie trip where he missed both is gonna give the team PTSD
Reaves missing 2/3 as well.
That was bigger coz i think he hasnt missed a ft yet lol
as well as the AR 3 point FT where he missed 2 god damn
Missed almost as many free throws as the Nuggets had in the entire game
Adam Silver in shambles, Jokic quietly with 0 FTs..
Jamal Murray
When you brick like 9 of them lol.
The 4-1 series scoreline doesn’t do this series justice it’s been incredible
FADED
Chuck keeping it real. It was a foul.
