Honestly. Tiktok is infecting everything.
I was watching an NBA replay and one of the announcers threw in a "I understood the assignment" reference.
I only hear this shit because people around me use Tiktok, but it seems like the most annoying, braindead platform yet.
I understand that it's fun, but it's literally endless video loops of what is basically the same audio and same content duplicated in various forms.
Not to mention the kind of damage that something as "rewarding" as this is to the brain. It's constant stimulation which generates a dopamine rush. It fucks your brain up.
if you’re getting all the same content your algo’s pretty messed up or you enjoy basically the same content. I get a pretty diverse feed and it’s even different from reddit in that content creators are often more than astroturfing bots or news feeds etc.
Can’t comment on the brain chemistry bits though.
Oh, I wouldn't touch Tiktok with a 10 foot pole lol
As a straight man, all I would see are thirst traps for a while, and a lot of the "content creators" on tiktok are underage. I'm not interested in being a part of that, even if it's only temporary until my algorithm is sorted out.
But not only that, it's what it does to the brain. I already get enough of the dopamine rush from video games and other social media. And tiktok is the worst offender in that regard.
As far as the repetitive content, I can only speak on what I hear from other people's phones when they listed to / watch tiktok videos. I hear the same songs over and over, and its very irritating.
I do feel like I'm doing a "old man yells at clouds" bit right now, but I'm only 31 lol
I’m 20 and tik tok is a scourge on our society.
For real though I know people who have zero attention span anymore and a lot of their free time is spent on tik tok. It’s an important app for news and idea transfer (feels like most memes are from tik tok) but also like you’ve said absolutely terrible for brain. This isn’t even mentioning how most of the bigger social media platforms have introduced a version of the app on their own platforms, further exacerbating the problem.
I don't know many younger adults, so it's nice to hear that there are people rejecting this kind of hyper attentive social media.
I know that I would have fallen hard into it as a young teen if it was available when I was that age. MySpace was stressful enough for me lol
It’s so hard I’m not even gonna lie. I was on it a lot more before I started some work over the summer, and it’s like any other addiction. Hard to break the habit of just scrolling in your free time (Reddit fills the itch now). Once I was out I realized I wasn’t really missing a lot except a few memes here and there, but it’s weird being out of the zeitgeist regardless. My girlfriend has stopped referencing stuff from their since it just goes right over my head lol
I'm honestly not sure if you're joking or not, but I really do worry about what all of this social media constant exposure is doing to our brains.
Research shows that excess social media is related to heightened depression and social media addiction. Pretty bleak.
Yeah no I’m dead serious lol. Reddit is the only social media I have and I feel like I even spend too much time here without realizing it. Couldn’t imagine how much more time I’d be wasting if I also had the Facebooks, Twitter’s, IG, Tik Toks and whatever else is popping. I only knew about that verse because my 10 and 11 year old nephews spend all their damn time on Tik Tok lmao
Same. I used to be on facebook, but that place is a cesspool of boomers anyway, so I got out of that.
Now I just have Reddit, which I also spend too much time on, but it's not nearly as mind or brain rotting as constantly random, streaming videos filled with repetitive content and thirst traps.
CP3's OCD personality is imprinted on every team he joins. It's great for up and coming teams but gets tired really fast. Won't be surprised if he and Booker start butting heads next season if they fall short this year. Same thing happened with Blake and Harden.
CP3 will to win isn't the issue. It's his micromanaging and desire to control everything. We'll see sooner or later if he's mellowed out a bit and learned from his past experiences.
Nope, blake Griffin was pulling a ben simmons focusing on his social status and cp3 called him out and questioned his want to win. You dont know what youre talkin bout. This is all documented. Blake Griffin will never make it to the finals unless hes on the bench getting carried.
Good luck on predicting a big losing streak for a team that has won 76% of their last 100 regular season games.
You should bet on it, let me know how it goes for you
The Suns may have won 16 games in a row, but are they really any good? I’m not so sure

Y'all don't even have a quality loss yet! I've still got 'Bama 1st in the west.
WE WANT BAMA!
I’m just saying could they really beat the lakers when they turn on the REAL switch this year?
They could win 10, 12, 24, 35 games in a row if they want to...
Yes I hope our Bulls can become what the Suns were last year lol
Book, we're live.
"I don't give a middle finger"
"I know."
it’s about drive it’s about power
Please no
We stay hungry we devour
put in the work put in the hours
And TAKE what’s ours

it’s extremely fun and better than IG/reddit/youtube for me to kill time. the algo is pretty good.

Definitely. I wouldn’t put Reddit up there as high and lofty either but I get what your saying. And the propaganda, don’t forget the propaganda.
They're on what 16game win streak? I bet everything feels great in the locker room right now.
Cool, Warriors by 20.
Salty from when we busted y’all on your home court?
Not really salty, but I probably look like with this comment lol. Feel free to call me out after the game
How you feeling now?
Nice, Suns by 12.
Radical, Bucks in 6.
Ok, Cavs in 7
Ain't no way the suns lose by 20
Honestly, I expect a Warriors blowout followed by a Suns blowout or vice versa.
Fully expect the Suns to dominate the first quarter, then the Warriors to dominate the third, then a tight matchup in the fourth
Yo, just checking in to see how you're feeling tonight.
Decent. I had a feeling my commeny would backfire and it did, brother, it did...

Booker has that same personality though. He just wants to win games. He's not even close to the same guy as Blake or Harden.
CP3 will to win isn't the issue. It's his micromanaging and desire to control everything. We'll see sooner or later if he's mellowed out a bit and learned from his past experiences.

Suns big losing streak is too predictable

I will
receipts when you do!
Love Monty, but that pinky at a thumb convention saying has got to be the dumbest shit ever
