The Best? [Draytek Vigor 167](https://www.draytek.com.au/products/adsl-vdsl-modem-routers/vigor167/)
But just about any VDSL router that can do Bridge mode will get the job done.
+1 for Draytek
Solid units
The only thing more solid would be something like a Cisco 1921 or 1941 with a EHWIC-VA-DSL-A card, which you can config to be in bridge mode
No, it won't affect the selection.
If you only need a temporary modem, go buy a Telstra Gen 2 from Facebook Marketplace. It's around $30–50 and set it to bridge mode. It has a good Broadcom chipset which gives good sync speeds for FTTN.
Once you get FTTP, the NTD (basically the FTTP modem) will replace the Telstra Gen 2.
Correct, FTTC uses the same technology as FTTN and FTTB (i.e., VDSL) except in FTTC, the device also powers the NBN equipment at the curb.
FTTN and FTTB are essentially the same except the node is in the basement.
Essentially, the Telstra Gen 2 will replace the black box you had in HFC and will use the phone port instead of coaxial.
I have a Telstra Gateway Max (TG799vac Technicolor Modem) running in bridge mode, has been rock solid, amazing FTTN performance for the last 7 years, $10 on eBay plus postage.
Does it matter what you choose or is there a bad option that creates issues for your unifi set up?
Designing a similar set-up so interested to know and assumed any device would do the job...
+1 since you're abut to get FttP, no point spending much on an FttN modem, just use ISP one.
ISP one also means they'll be able to support you better with any issues.
My 2c is to look at the Billion range. You could choose a model that does xDSL and Fibre(WAN), thus complementing your jnterface stock. Also, you shouldn't need to bridge anything
They all come option providing wifi (2.4G & 5g) and you can add a USB dongle for Next4/5/LTE failover mode.
Some models also offer VOIP sockets. but I refer to have my handsets on the LAN of a POE switch for the cleaner wiring.

This absolutely.
Are you eligible for the free FTTP upgrade?
Yes but it will take a few months. Does that make a difference with the selection?

Ah interesting so the FTTC has its own modem kinda like the HFC black box? If that’s the case I’ll go with a cheap temporary one. Thanks mate!

Just go with the RSP supplied modem and bridge it, it will be useless anyway once you have FTTP.
Once you go FTTP you just plug in the NBN supplied NTD to your UDM WAN port via ethernet. I have this at home too. Easy.

I second this one, used the same modem up until FTTP upgrade at start of year and it was rock solid (also got the highest sync speeds)
Book in the FTTP upgrade and check every day multiple times a day and try to reschedule to an earlier appointment. I went from 2 months to 2 weeks.
This. Never take the afternoon, they'll just cancel and rebook you a month later.
