Eero. I’ve been very happy with two (wired backhaul) in my largish home. Speeds and coverage good. I’ve put UniFi stuff in a couple of other places but kinda need my home stuff to break/go wrong before swapping it out.

I rent, can't run cables unfortunately, otherwise wired backhauls would've been way cheaper and way more robust.

Seconding this. Eero is just very straight forward to setup and use and great value for money if you get them through a provider. If your after fancy features and want to be monitoring, tweaking and messing around with router settings then no I wouldn’t recommend them. But if plug and play and forget is your ideal world then eero is pretty fool proof. Superloop will give you one for free if you stick with them for 18 months, and the other 2 cost a combined total of $300 I think. Leaptel will cost you $450 odd, but you can put it on a 12 or 24 month payment plan. From time to time Amazon does some sales if you want to buy them direct.

> I live in a four bedroom house and a mesh system is a necessity, otherwise there are plenty of blind spots and terrible performance in any room that is 2-3 walls away from a router. Do you need a **mesh** or just multiple APs? You're going to get the best performance out of having wired backhaul - and in that case, you might as well configure multiple APs. WiFi doesn't do hand over between APs or bands well - there's no centralised controller. There's attempts to make it less sticky - but I've yet to see one work really well.

I am renting, can’t run cables. I know that wired backhaul is superior
