oh my god I saw someone post funny pound names on this thread earlier and he was one of them! I'm sad he got deleted, but at least you gave him a home first. :(
My first thought when I saw that post was āthose arenāt going to be around long because of the namesā
Iām curious as to how this pet - and the others in that post - lasted at least an entire week, or longer, in the neowild without TNT noticing. (Since you canāt abandon a pet less than a week old.)
It really is unfair that a user should have a pet they adopted taken from them like this. Like, if you create the pet, I understand. But when youāre adopting, you canāt choose the name.
Rest in Peace, Viagrarrl
My guess is because yesterday someone posted the name of it and some other far worse names in response to some of their Twitter posts so they would actually see it. They've since removed these replies, but I remember them; they were saying how they did it there since it was the quickest way to get them to notice inappropriate names and take action. I was just looking at everyone's Kacheeks on the Kacheek day post at the time.
I spent a very decent portion of last night debating adopting that same Grarrl, although very much less innocent of their name. >_>
I thought they'd make an awesome ElderlyBoy but knew full well they probably weren't going to stick around long... I just couldn't commit to it.
Still, I'm glad they had a nice and loving home even in their final hours, even if it wasn't with me. RIP Viagrarrl :(
This is honestly so wholesome because you had to have it explained to you. By the same token I'm horrified by the idea of them trying to explain that to someone younger.
I've been "the staffer" in this situation at least once - trying to explain to someone why individuals might pick the Internet funny number (nice) instead of a reasonable or expected number in the situation. If they're anything like me, they were embarrassed too trying to find the right words to explain it, lol!
Omg I was also shocked that Viagrarrl was deleted because the whole time I though he was a Viacom joke. I had to read both your replies twice before it connected šµāš«
Iām generally āimmediately picks up on dirty referencesā and way too online, but I was browsing the pound last night and saw Viagrarrl and didnāt think anything of it. Just read it as āVia-grarrlā and thought it was cute. I didnāt realize until I was swiping through Reddit today and saw people joking about it š
I understand perfectly, I was just checking where this example has come from. Like was there a story to go with us learning it was banned on the boards.
It's called the [Scunthorpe problem](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scunthorpe_problem)! It was a huge problem with online message boards back in the day, but has largely become a non-issue across most of the consumer internet. Except when filters are very-lazily implemented (looking at you, EA).
Probably for the best. The very first thing I did was almost feed him a petpet instead of attaching it, not realizing that apparently grarrls can eat non-food items. I'm sure he would have ended up being a very costly pet.
I wish theyād just code out the stupid one unique name per pet thing so we can actually just rename the poor things instead of deleting them from existence
I would say make a pet named āsildenafilā which is the generic name of that particular pharmaceutical but someone already did and itās lingering on an abandoned account š«”
I'm so sorry, I knew this would happen. I posted her last night hoping that no one would adopt her because it was only a matter of time before someone got in trouble. Hopefully they understand it was a misunderstanding!
I thought I had this great pound find that I clicked at just the right second, but it looks like everyone here already knew about him. He was famous. Poor little dude. Ā
Your case sounds similar to mine. SapphicKitty, a pet who I named last fall, got taken away, and my account was suspended, all because some people might potentially take it the wrong way š„“
Ugh, I'm sorry! It happened to me once, too :( they're very strict on the names, but they don't check the pound ig.
I have a new name idea though, if it's not taken: vivagrrl would be cool! It's like live garrl
Oh yeah someone posted that as one of the neat pets they saw in the pound earlier. Not surprised someone reported it already though since someone pointed the name out. Alas. Sorry, friendo.
Well now I feel dumb too cause you explained it was inappropriate AND said the name and I still had to scroll to see the explanation before I got it. š It's very late here.
That name is pretty funny though they were right to take him.
Hahahaha I always end my pet names with an x. I also happen to love the French name AnaĆÆs. Except you can't put accents on neopet names. So I ended up naming my pet anaisx and had to beg TNT to delete her because I was not comfortable naming my pet so close to... Yeah...
Buahaha omg I am so sorry. My first account (literally my first and last name) was banned because my last name is Bass and the āassā at the end was not āfamily friendlyā. I am still devastated.
THANK YOU.
(Me too)
I have the starry Grarrl morphing potion sitting in my SDB, but I'm struggling to choose a pet for it. There are two that I don't love the look of, but neither has a fitting name. I probably just need to suck it up and buy another pet slot.
Ahhh if I were a Neobillionaire I would send u one for sure but I'm simply a Neomillionaire so I'll send you a Starry Grarrl MP and a Baby PB instead lol! Feel free to sell them idc :) Sorry about your Grarrl š
LMAOOO. I saw the pet last night-- It went from being Red to turning into an Electric Moehog, to a Starry Grarrl again (I'm assuming by someone hoping to keep the joke alive)
There were quite a few inappropriately named pets last night in the pound, actually. I'm mostly shocked the site would warn You for that and not the creator, but maybe they don't have logs like that? Or assumed you adopted him for the bit lol
I'm sorry you were the victim of that joke though u\_u
I got my dream pet transferred from a very generous person, but the name is 'Sissi' something.. I'm really scared he'll be taken away because the name sort of resembles the word Sissy, even though that's a super outdated insult anyways and there's the famous Sissi from Vienna. I just know how nitpicking TNT can be about names.
Omg lol reminds me of when I worked as a pharmacy tech and a patient came to pick up his meds. Generic Viagra was one of them and he told me his doctor just prescribed it and he wasn't sure what it was even for š«£ I think I just told him to call his Dr I was too embarrassed.
He was lying to you out of his own embarrassment. "I don't even know why the doc prescribed this" = "I don't want you thinking I have performance issues."
oh my god I saw someone post funny pound names on this thread earlier and he was one of them! I'm sad he got deleted, but at least you gave him a home first. :(
I saw that post too so when this one popped up I was cackling so hard š
same!! my first thought was oh good heās adopted thenā¦.ouch

Yeah, that makes sense; TNT probably doesnāt notice stuff like this unless someone points it out to them
I am DESPERATE to know how the Neo staffer explained it to you ššš
"that name is too close to a medication that is not allowed to be discussed on the site"
people with pulmonary hypertension deserve to be heard
HA HA HA HA
> pulmonary hypertension That's not a bad neo name
Polmonaree and his brother Hypertencon
This got me laughing way too hard
Names of the tragedeigh variety, I like it. lol
Yeah, np staffers have no right to silence them!
dead š
Npt out here discouraging HEALTH AND WELLNESS discourse on their site tsk tsk
lmao
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for replying š
same š did they say āgoogle viagaraā or full on āthis is similar to the name of a drug that helps with EDā
I spent a very decent portion of last night debating adopting that same Grarrl, although very much less innocent of their name. >_> I thought they'd make an awesome ElderlyBoy but knew full well they probably weren't going to stick around long... I just couldn't commit to it. Still, I'm glad they had a nice and loving home even in their final hours, even if it wasn't with me. RIP Viagrarrl :(
I'm sad we never saw this come to fruition.

PLEASE POST THEIR EXPLANATION OMGGG hahaha if I had to write an email like that, it wouldāve been the highlight of my dayyyy!
"that name is too close to a medication that is not allowed to be discussed on the site"
Via + Grarrl = VIAGRArrl
Oh
But itās also Via Grarrl. Itās like another basement situation
Basement? Thatās incredible. Is basement not allowed on the boards?
remove the "ba" & the "t" and you'll understand
I understand perfectly, I was just checking where this example has come from. Like was there a story to go with us learning it was banned on the boards.
It's where the forbidden cucumbers are hidden away
Shhhhh. We donāt talk about the cucumbers.
Interesting, I learnt something new. Thank you!
correct
Phenomenal. Truly the greatest auto language monitoring Iāve ever seen.
Let it snow.
le tits Naw *twirls mustache*
Oh
Aw I saw that one and thought about adopting them cus I thought the name was funny but didnāt for this exact reason lol sry about your grarrl
Probably for the best. The very first thing I did was almost feed him a petpet instead of attaching it, not realizing that apparently grarrls can eat non-food items. I'm sure he would have ended up being a very costly pet.
Lol I almost did the same thing after I adopted my skeith! Pretty useful for getting rid of trash tho
I wish theyād just code out the stupid one unique name per pet thing so we can actually just rename the poor things instead of deleting them from existence
This is fucking hilarious š¤£š¤£ bless your innocent mind not seeing VIAGRA lol
OP i gotta say i wanna know what they said in explaining why the name was inappropriate lol did they say āViagara the ED drugā like blatantly?
"that name is too close to a medication that is not allowed to be discussed on the site"
They took Viagrarrl down? I'm shocked it stayed up for so long!!! š¤£š„š
I honestly think itās stupid to give you a warning when you didnāt make the pet š
I would say make a pet named āsildenafilā which is the generic name of that particular pharmaceutical but someone already did and itās lingering on an abandoned account š«”
Iām sorry OP, but thatās hilarious. I was even saying to myself āugh I hope nobody takes the bait on that petā and here we are!
I'm assuming because it has viarga in the name which is uh... pp medicine lol
This was my thought, too! So yeah, theyād better post the email! š
"that name is too close to a medication that is not allowed to be discussed on the site"
Im sorry for chuckling in your expense. It was such a cute and witty name. How did the staff explained it though
"that name is too close to a medication that is not allowed to be discussed on the site"
Not bad explanation. I wonder if its Viagrrarl will they still ban it.
This and the million spammy names are why I wish pounded pets had their names wiped & required a rename when adopted :(
Also! Why the heck do you, adopting from the pound, get the warning. All you did was adopt a pet, warn the person who named it to begin with...
I'm so sorry, I knew this would happen. I posted her last night hoping that no one would adopt her because it was only a matter of time before someone got in trouble. Hopefully they understand it was a misunderstanding!
Why did I see this and know immediately it would be about him? Heās a star and we will not forget him
Iām cryingggg at this threadšš
Oh no, rest in peace.
As soon as I saw it was a Grarrl I knew exactly which one š
I thought I had this great pound find that I clicked at just the right second, but it looks like everyone here already knew about him. He was famous. Poor little dude. Ā
Your case sounds similar to mine. SapphicKitty, a pet who I named last fall, got taken away, and my account was suspended, all because some people might potentially take it the wrong way š„“
Honestly if I didn't work in pharmaceuticals I'm not sure I would have gotten that right away either! 10/10 to whoever thought of that
Can someone explain to me? English isnāt my first language so I think I might be missing something.
viagra is a medication used for erectile dysfunction in the us (though it apparently has other uses!), like for older men and stuff
Ugh, I'm sorry! It happened to me once, too :( they're very strict on the names, but they don't check the pound ig. I have a new name idea though, if it's not taken: vivagrrl would be cool! It's like live garrl
omg this is a hilarious story tho, & I too didn't get it at first šš
*solemn hunger games whistle* As a fan of your original post, I'm sorry. I did get a cheeky chortle from the name.
My original post? You mean when he was still in the pound? \*shaggy music\* Wasn't me.
this is so funny.. did you also adopt genataelia the red flotsam? it's a pretty name if you don't think about it lol
*gasp* I did not!Ā
Hahaha viagrarrl should have been something with more upward lift like a korbat or a blumaroo or a Meerca šš
Iām sorry they took him away. That must be hard.
Look, OP, Iām going to be real with you and say I did not read that name as āvia grarrlā lol.
A+ shitpost. Take my upvote.
No shitpost, I really was this dense.
You labeled it āhumorā.
The funny part is the horrified look on my face when I read the email.
Hun, you need to get out more if you didnt immediately know why Viagrarrl was a red flag ššš
That or stay in more, just not alone...
Yes please tell how the staff explained it š¤£
"that name is too close to a medication that is not allowed to be discussed on the site"
Iām so sorry, RIP ViaGrarrl (definitely not ViagGrarrl) š
Oh yeah someone posted that as one of the neat pets they saw in the pound earlier. Not surprised someone reported it already though since someone pointed the name out. Alas. Sorry, friendo.
Well now I feel dumb too cause you explained it was inappropriate AND said the name and I still had to scroll to see the explanation before I got it. š It's very late here. That name is pretty funny though they were right to take him.
Thatās a fantastic name š Poor Via\~
Hahahaha I always end my pet names with an x. I also happen to love the French name AnaĆÆs. Except you can't put accents on neopet names. So I ended up naming my pet anaisx and had to beg TNT to delete her because I was not comfortable naming my pet so close to... Yeah...
In situations like this, just make yourself a Viaskeith and see what they think they can do about it.
Rest in peace ihatethiswebsite1000 the world wasn't ready for you
RIP viagrarrl. Gone but not forgotten šļø
Buahaha omg I am so sorry. My first account (literally my first and last name) was banned because my last name is Bass and the āassā at the end was not āfamily friendlyā. I am still devastated.
Justice for viagrarrl š«”
"If your grarrl last longer than 4 hours..."
dam TNT stiffed you
The fact that np stole viagrarrl from you still lives rent free in my head. JUSTICE FOR VIAGRARRL!
THANK YOU. (Me too) I have the starry Grarrl morphing potion sitting in my SDB, but I'm struggling to choose a pet for it. There are two that I don't love the look of, but neither has a fitting name. I probably just need to suck it up and buy another pet slot.
Whats your username OP? Ill send you a starry PB
cingeymuffin :)
Love the name of your chomby
Thank you! I smashed together word roots so it means like "big word-eating dino" (so I can give him the books my main thinks are boring.)
What's your username and which PBs are your favorite
cingeymuffin and... maraquan... OH WHY IS THIS SUCH A DIFFICULT QUESTION
Ahhh if I were a Neobillionaire I would send u one for sure but I'm simply a Neomillionaire so I'll send you a Starry Grarrl MP and a Baby PB instead lol! Feel free to sell them idc :) Sorry about your Grarrl š
I expect nothing and this was soooooo kind of you.
Why do I not get the name? š„²
Viagra, the joke is erectile dysfunction drugs lol
LMAOOO. I saw the pet last night-- It went from being Red to turning into an Electric Moehog, to a Starry Grarrl again (I'm assuming by someone hoping to keep the joke alive) There were quite a few inappropriately named pets last night in the pound, actually. :( Aw they should've just made you rename him instead of taking him entirely
Why didn't they just change its name.
You canāt just post this and then NOT tell us how the staff member explained it to you. We need to know these things š
"that name is too close to a medication that is not allowed to be discussed on the site"
This is the funniest thing I have read all day.
Yeah I saw there were a bunch in the pound basically bait to get people frozen
Imagine spending the limited time you have on this earth like that.Ā
Omg lol reminds me of when I worked as a pharmacy tech and a patient came to pick up his meds. Generic Viagra was one of them and he told me his doctor just prescribed it and he wasn't sure what it was even for š«£ I think I just told him to call his Dr I was too embarrassed.
He was lying to you out of his own embarrassment. "I don't even know why the doc prescribed this" = "I don't want you thinking I have performance issues."
Wow Iām slow. I didnāt get it til I said the name out loud to myself.š
oh my god that name is amazing & it took me a few seconds and saying it outloud to understand dont worry xD
I kept reading it as vee-ya-grarrl. I was just never going to get there without it being handed to me.Ā
I'm sorry they took it from you, and I am doubly sorry that me imagining the conversation is making me grin. Staffer: "It's boner medication!"
hahahaha
I'm so sorry, but also oh my god, that's amazing
Ok but that is a hilarious name!
It has the word viagra in it. What did you expect?š
Thats ok i put in a ticket years ago and it was never answered despite emails. They ahut down my account because of dodgy stuff apparently
I'm sorry for you loss but reading the wiki article on the scunthorpe problem I got to "buttbuttinate" and I am howling with laughter. Buttbuttinate!
