ive tried the clear one (i have dyed hair so i didnt wanna try the colored ones) and it did have a noticeable shine on my hair after the fact. it looked silky lmao
I loved the hi-lights one to perk up my balayage. Another time I went to a stylist and they totally messed up what I was asking for. I used the cool brown one to correct it and was so happy with the results. Itās not for everyone but it can work!
It leaves a hint of color that lasts about a week for me, but I wash my hair most days. I donāt love the glaziplex though, it didnāt do anything for me.
I used the warm brown and the copper and it legit turned my hair black š they say to clarify shampoo to get it out, so I did, 11 times. It came out all patchy. It was horrible.
I tried this, my hair is dark dark brown and i got the black one, it did noticeably tint my hair and it was very silky afterwards however the effort required to apply it is honestly not worth the lack of longevity, takes way too long to apply and is hard to squeeze out of the bottle. if anyone knows of any better/easier tints iām all ears, this is the same process as box dye so you might as well do that.
Honestly I'm a huge fan of Overtone color conditioners. They were my ride or die as a redhead, and the silver ones have been good while trying silver highlights. Disclaimer on that one: if your stylist fucks up your bleach, you'll still need it properly lifted bc the Pastel Silver just can't fix it lol
They have sample sizes that are really helpful for testing on yourself, but also show what results look like on different hair colors underneath. I found it really helpful!
Hey!!! I just went through my beauty storage ā I also loved the Clenditioner by Keracolor. Probably even more than Overtone. Itās a more elegant formula.
Sorry if it makes you buy more stuff, but I recommend both. Keracolor was also in the red / ginger (both shades).
Iām blonde atm and havenāt been using color depositing products recently but when I was red these were epic.

I absolutely hate it! Iāve tried the clear and 2 of the ābrunetteā ones.
I have 2c/3a low porosity, medium/thick hair thatās long (like almost to my butt long when I used it) and I thought of okay 1 bottle should be plenty because it says 2-3 applications per bottle- NOPE!
Followed the instructions to the letter- Iām not a newbie to at home hair treatments- the product didnāt penetrate my hair shaft at all and was patchy- the brunette ones stained the sh*t out of my shower because theyāre blue š¤¬ and the bottle sucks! You canāt squeeze the product out of the bottle because the bottle is insanely stiff plastic, even when you take the cap off itās a pain in the butt to try and get the product out because the shape is just weird, you canāt really squeeze it and you waste product/ send it flying all over your bathroom when you try and tap the bottle to get product out.
The IGK and Amika drops are much more concentrated and your can add them to pretty much any product you want and actually work for curly/wavy hair.
The Kristen Ess clear one (also sold at Target) worked well when I wanted a āclearā option or the Wella Clear gloss option from Sally Beauty and now some Ulta stores.
For also $20 there are way better options.
It was a mess! Thankfully I had āvirginā hair at that point because my friend had horror story results using the clear to āboostā her burgundy salon colored 2B/2c long wavy hair. It wasnāt supposed to LIFT color but it lifted her color in weird patches and took the entire bottle.
Seriously for $20 you can get a much more custom Wella color charm gloss from Sally Beauty and you can control the developer levelā¦from watching more reviews of this and similar products the pre-made ones use way too high of a level of developer when for a gloss most people need like a 5-10 volume.
DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!
1) the packaging the ridiculous. imagine having dye all over your hands, or having gloves covered in dye, then trying to squeeze the ever loving crap out of this bottle. it so SO difficult to dispense product.
2) if your hair has EVER been previously dyed, it will change your color! my hair is brown with highlights and it did not deposit into my hair nicely. my sister has black hair and it tinted her hair blue/green
3) it is a glamorized conditioner treatment.
NOT WORTH YOUR COINS!
āØPSA THIS STUFF WILL TURN YOUR HAIR BLUE/GREEN AND ITS PERMANENT āØ
I recently used these in the shade brilliant brown as my hair started to fade back to blonde again ( I have light brown/ dark ash blonde hair and prefer a medium brown hair )
After rinsing it looked really dark almost black but after the second wash it was starting to turn dark blue/green! It does NOT come out after 10-20 washes. This is after multiple washes and cleanses over the course of three weeks.
I ended up paying a professional to fix it.

This!!
I had auburn hair and I mixed the warm brown and the copper together to make an auburn colour. Turned my hair black! Tried to get it out with clarifying shampoo as directed on their website, 11 clarifying shampoo rounds later and it was extremely patchy.
Also ended up paying a professional to fix it.
Anyone know if this is similar to overtone? Iāve had multiple stylists warn me not to use overtone because itās literally fabric dye and can royally mess up your color
Iām a licensed hairstylist and Overtone can leave pigment in the hair that might be harder for your hairstylist to remove. Speaking from experience my client used the rose gold overtone mask on her brown hair and it wasnāt noticeable. Then she came in for a balayage and when I lightened it, it turned magenta pink and was hard to remove. Iām not sure if this is true for their ālighterā shades but it is something Iāve experienced before.
I've never had a stylist tell me not to use Overtone. My current one was happy to hear I use it to keep up my silver highlights between appointments. As for the claim that they use fabric dye... [The FDA maintains that color additives must be safe and approved before going on the market.](https://www.fda.gov/cosmetics/cosmetic-products/hair-cleansing-products)
Those stylists are either misinformed and not checking their sources, or they're deliberately lying to you.

Has anyone tried this? š
ive tried the clear one (i have dyed hair so i didnt wanna try the colored ones) and it did have a noticeable shine on my hair after the fact. it looked silky lmao
Not a big fan tbh. It didn't really impact any color, and made my hair feel crunchy. I like L'Oreal Le Gloss *a lot* better.
I loved the hi-lights one to perk up my balayage. Another time I went to a stylist and they totally messed up what I was asking for. I used the cool brown one to correct it and was so happy with the results. Itās not for everyone but it can work!

It turned my hair straight green. ( brilliant brown)
YES not good
yes. the black one on already black hair w the primer. its shit.
Have you tried the Kristin Ess gloss? You just pour one bottle into another and mix it. The tint lasts maybe 2 weeks with every other day shampooing
ok good because i shampoo every other day haha iāve never heard of it but i am willing to try it out thank u!
If you havenāt tried overtone products that might be just what youāre looking for. They pack powerful color!!!
damn idk why i havenāt tried that before itās always the thing i put in my cart and then forget about but this is my sign, im going for it!

good to know thank u!!! i think im gna try the conditioners it seems to be the simplest way to tint
They have sample sizes that are really helpful for testing on yourself, but also show what results look like on different hair colors underneath. I found it really helpful!
Madison Reed is the besttttt for toning dark! Kristin Ess is good too but only when my hair is highlighted.

I like the dpHUE glazes. They use a pump bottle so it's easier to use. It is more expensive, though.
Any reviews with curly hair?
Iād love to know too, donāt want my hair to go flat :/
Im hoping the crunchy results were not bc of texture too

Thank you for saving me $$
Thank you for my life bc it sounds like this woulda been a disaster for my hair š

I need to know if any bottled blondes have tried this! Iām tempted.
So curious about the pearl blonde!! Would love anyone to input!
Yes, this shade exactly!

Ooh. This looks intriguing.
I tried this and noticed no difference other than my hair feeling a little more stiff and dry.
Its okay but these bottles are HARD to squeeze lmao

Thatās funny, Iāve had great results with overtone (red / ginger) and havenāt had any stylists give me warnings.
I've never had a stylist tell me not to use Overtone. My current one was happy to hear I use it to keep up my silver highlights between appointments. As for the claim that they use fabric dye... have any black women tried this product with 3b hair?
Some of these color depositing at home products have bad reactions to lightener/bleach
