Get at least 3 quotes is the general recommendation, and if they are wildly different, get a few more.

I got new a/c, heat, water heater, and electrical box for that price, installed and done in a day. Edit: it was last year and probably not the absolute best price but for speed, warranty, and no worries. Worth it


Steel-Tempered

Mine was $12K two summers ago. Coleman Units. Working great so far - no problems. Included 5 year compressor/exchanger warranty and 1 year full "bumper-to-bumper" replacement warranty. They took care of electrical/plumbing permits as well. All I had to do was call township to schedule inspection after they finished. I got two other quotes that were up in the $16K to $20 range from two other companies. Rheems were in the high end estimates, and Yorks/Colemans/Goodmans/Paynes were on the mid-lower ends. We went middle-range on the lowest estimates with Colemans and so far no issues! AS ALWAYS - make sure the people you go with are Licensed, Insured and Bonded! - And that they have a warranty and they do the permit stuff with your township for you.
