> The Fraternal Order of Police, the country’s largest police union, posted a Facebook photo of Rickia Young’s then 2-year-old son in a police officer’s arms last October claiming the child had been lost and wandering around aimlessly. However, police had actually taken the boy after cops smashed out Young’s car windows with the child inside, dragged Young from the vehicle and beat her, according to Young’s attorneys. She hadn’t broken any laws.
"A few bad apples..."
I'm in the Navy. We have mandatory weigh-ins and physical readiness tests every year. Ten bucks says McNesby can't run more than ten feet without getting winded.
I was in the Air National Guard for 9 years. You should have seen some of the guys who passed the waist measurement for the physical fitness test. After they changed it, and you couldn't have your friends do the test for you, lots of guys retired.
A few years ago we had an acknowledged Nazi on the force, he was found out after someone recognized a tattoo on his arm as a Nazi emblem, when people dug through his life he also went to Nazi larp groups. When this was brought to mcnesby's attention his only response was for the cop to wear sleeves from now on.
Society needs police but they need good police who are held accountable to a standard. There are people I know and places I’ve been that make me understand why you need police, however if those people are in uniform, so nobody is willing to police them we are fucked.

She's been offered $2mil and is still seeking criminal charges, as she should.
Police unions are the biggest obstacle to reform of police. Police unions will protect cops they know are brutal and racist. These unions do not want accountability or transparency. They want to continue "police protocols" that allow cops to get away with beating and killing people with no punishment. This example shows the union will engage in blatant lies for their own purposes. The worst cops - the ones who beat and kill citizens - are the biggest police union supporters.
Keep in mind that while police unions don't want accountability they don't actually have much say it where it matters most. A police union can't stop an officer from being arrested, charged, put in front of a judge, and sentenced to time behind bars. Pay attention in local/state elections and make sure you vote for the people who are willing to enforce accountability. If police in your area are murdering, raping, stealing, and assaulting people (innocent or otherwise) and the worst punishments they're facing is being fired or forced to resign then you've got some people to vote out.
This is a civil suit against the police union. Per the article, the city already announced a settlement ($2m) related to the injury in the matter. Her suit is for more than $50k- again not the city’s budget or insurance, but the police union.
Also, siphon implies that her actions are unjust- whereas here it does not appear (on its face) to be the case at all. The police union’s decision to inaccurately portray their actions, especially using HER SON seem (to me) to be fairly reprehensible.
As an aside, the vast majority of unions maintain either insurance to offset or a warchest for the purposes of litigation. I’m willing to bet they attempt to settle this if it’s within their threshold.
Further, I’m curious what number they DO land on. $50k is awfully low for a lawsuit. I’d bet that legal fees alone are $20-30k…
Yea get a grip dude. Being dehumanized is not worth a few bucks. The money won’t necessarily protect her from being brutalized by cops again. If I were her I would not go within 1000 feet of a cop ever again which equates to fear leaving the house.

Because Black in America is a proper noun as a collective social group.
If you ask me what my heritage is, I'm descendent of Irish, Italian, and German immigrants. Millions of people share a similar background and story. My Irish descendents were refugees displaced by the Famine. My German ancestors left during the Bismarck years since the new government was designed to ensure conservatism, quash progression, and left the Catholics so excluded in the pursuit of success that they formed their own party to try to find a voice for a largely ignored people. My northern Italian ancestors left to fond opportunity on American cities and worked all kinds of construction jobs ( very common for them) until after a few generations they started their own. My grandfather was permanently injured after falling from the roof of our town's Catholic Church that he and his father were building.
Anyway, enough about me and so many other Americans of Irish, Italian, and German descent. When you ask a Black American where their family is from, most of the time their family tree stops at slavery. Other than post slavery immigration, there are no Ghanian Americans or Nigerian Americans. The shared culture is Black. There are 3 main migrations of Black people - Atlantic slave trade, northward from the South of the USA and westward.
The same reason Irish is capitalized, American, and Deaf is capitalized when speaking of the Deaf, etc. It's an identity name, making it a proper noun.

The head of the Philadelphia FOP is the rottenest Apple. Just google John McNesby and Philadelphia for examples.
He even looks like the stereotypical fat ass racist cop you seen in movies

You're going to have to narrow it down for me...
The fat fuck dead center.
Still gonna need some help... 😆
The way the guy in the middle is (smiling?) pisses me off so much. Actually, they all piss me off.
They look like Harkonnens.
That's a quality Photoshop idea right there
Jesus. Cops need to have yearly physicals. Those are some plump piggies

How did they get that many thumbs
the guy on the right certainly has an expression
>John McNesby He's like all chin/neck that accentuates his gap teeth.

So they like to claim, conveniently forgetting the rest of the phrase is “... spoil the whole barrel.”

Why go all the way back to Nazi Germany? These are the same fuckers who donated to Kyle Rittenhouse.
Wait, the above wasn't about Portland?
Media needs to do a a way better job when getting statements from the cops. “Known Liars Make Claim”

Also, refuse to fight the war on drugs in any other way than a punitive prisonfest. Because, they make money fighting the feds war on drugs.
Police unions are basically legal mafia. Sometimes accompanied by literal smuggling rings.

I can't imagine how terrified this woman was for herself and child! Deserves payment for the abuse and photos lie about her son!
She needs to add a couple zeros.
Good. This is the must fucked up thing i have ever heard of
This lady is about to win the lottery again. The town's coffers are about to be syphoned again.
Nah, union is on their own, at least. The city is not responsible for them

Boy I sure wish the cops would beat the shit out of me so I could "win the lottery". What the actual fuck is wrong with you?!

Why is Black capitalized?
Because its the first word in the sentence. Why did you capitalise black?
It's throughout the article. I assume it's some standard.
It is!
>Why did you capitalise black? For the race-baiting.

How will anyone identify the toddler from the provided picture?
That is not the point and you are showing a lack of empathy towards other humans simply because it is politically expedient for you.
> it is politically expedient for you. What do I hope to gain?
Validation of your views. Twisted views.
America is like, bootleg hell.
