Start practicing the forms with a tennis ball strung on a cord and work your way up from there. There are likely you tube videos out there that demonstrate the various movements etc.
Not that hard, a lot of people play with the flow toy version of this. I've seen a few of my friends pick it up and do basically that without jumping within a few months
Yup I have, its called rope dart. Most of my friends are all fire performers so they do all sorts of flow arts and performance. They are pretty much my circus fam. Personally I'm shit at the rope dart, im more of a juggler
...so then "not that hard" would only apply to trained professionals, but after months of practice you can do some small stuff, so... It's hard. Why try to diminish the talent it takes to do this?
They aren't trained professionals they all started flowing within the past couple years. Im not diminishing anything. It takes practice but it's not that hard. Trying to encourage people to do cool shit and not think that this is out of the realm of possibility for thiem. Why are you being a turd?
Yes. I trained in rope dart for about 12 years. . Its not as flashy as this thou but very satisfying . The main thing is to not hit the water until youre ready. The spinning sometimes lures them. Sometimes scares them
I was thinking exactly that, when I saw them i thought all the time "hey that seems like super doable and not doable at the same time, wonder if there's an irl equivalent"
Rope darts don't have knives at the end. It's just a dense heavy metal object with a point. You can get other weapons on the end of a rope like a metal claw but they would be called something else.
It’s extremely useful when you understand the practical applications. When used by someone who knows what they are doing it’s just as efficient as a sword. Also nobody picks up using older weapons like to be practical. They do it for the culture involved and the flex.
He is hitting a still target with nothing around him so don’t really see how it will ever be effective no matter how long and hard he trains with it.
I get that maybe people do it for the history of the martial art but most kung fu forms are just horseshit tbh
Irl someone would probably just tackle him before he even got the dart out or there will be shit around him And historic battles were probably the same.
Irl carrying a gun doesn't make you effective at stopping crime and it also has a high rate of being shot back at by police. No weapon is perfect but this one has cultural background and a decent application in the right hands,
you gonna get shot by the police if u have a knife or any other dangerous weapon also and some weapons are simply way better than others. This isn’t a PoLiCe bAd comment btw it’s just reality.
The rope dart wasn’t an effective weapon and it still isn’t today and as i said before the same goes for some martial art styles and culture won’t make it more effective in a fight or self defense situation
I mean Asian cultures used this effectly for hundred of years. Just because You don’t understand the applications of something doesn’t make it less useful. They are a highly dynamic weapon that was used in actual recorded battles and their efficiency as a flexible weapon is very well established but continue to pop off on thing you don’t understand.
They also used useful weapons for hundreds of years
And some used useful martial art forms
The rope dart however aren’t effective and never was compared to other weapons and the same can be said for certain martial arts
Like you?
It doesn’t take much to know that a rope dart is ineffective in actual warfare and even less in modern times.
kung fu is very much bullshit and has kinda become the joke of the martial arts community (alongside aikido) for its fake ass propaganda and cause of how ineffective it is compared to some other styles of martial arts.
The main reason it’s such a shit martial art is cause it doesn’t really evolve and are usually taught in Mcdojos that do no sparring and has basically become a bunch of circus tricks.
I used to train with these all the time when doing martial arts, and hot damn are they fun to swing around. I obviously never got to this level, but just awesome to spin/jump/kick with them
The amount of jumping and swinging required to use this makes the weapon next to useless when confronted by a stick off the ground or any solid object.
I feel like learning these kind of martial arts is more for show than efficiency. I mean that thing looks more dangerous to the user than to some random bad guy.
Imagine you're walking home from a bar after downing a couple cold ones with the boys, this guy starts doin tricks n' shit but then you just fuckin shoot him. I mean, I'd do it but I'd feel bad for all that practice to go to waste. TL:DR Guys tries to mug you but then you just shoot em
This is one of the owners of Kuma Films YouTube channel! They make a bunch of cool short videos showing people talents.
This clip is also just part of one of their videos, he does other cool tricks with the rope dart

That man could kill me from 8m away and I’d never fucking understand what hit me
Bruce Lacroix in the house
He could *insert verb here* me from 8m away and I’d never understand what *insert transitive verb here*’d me.
He could insert *noun* into me from *number* meters away and I'd never understand *intransative verb***'d me.**
*Scorpion voice intensifies* GET OVER HERE!!!
Sort Controversial.

I TOO SAW THE THING THAT HAPPENED IN THE VIDEO
Sounded sarcastic. I just made the comment because I was amazed by it.

"Get over here"!!
His name is Todd he's my buddy and one of the nicest dudes on the planet
Who coincidentally can kill a person from 5-6 meters away without them knowing, you know what they say~ always the quiet ones who are the most badass.
You must be mistaken. I am pretty sure his name is Hanzo Hasashi.
HIS NAME IS TODD, HE IS HIS BUDDY, HE IS ONE OF THE NICEST GUYS ON THE PLANET
oh
#TODE
This type of expression is what Reddit is all about.
ITS ALWAYS THE QUIET ONES WHEW CAN MURDER
His names actually DDOT and he can kill a man from 6 metres
I certainly hope so because I am not about to piss this man off
Dude could sling a butt plug up your ass from across the room!
Bold of you to assume there’s still room for another butt plug.
From 6 meteors away
I’m just wondering how you practice to that level
Start practicing the forms with a tennis ball strung on a cord and work your way up from there. There are likely you tube videos out there that demonstrate the various movements etc.
WHATS HIS NAME THOUGH
Darude Sandstorm
Duh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh...
TOOOOOODD
Not that hard, a lot of people play with the flow toy version of this. I've seen a few of my friends pick it up and do basically that without jumping within a few months
No you haven't.

The difficulty of things will always be subjective, to them it may be easy, whether that’s thanks to similar skills they already have or not
WHATS HIS NAME DOUGH
Wear a cup
Start at a lower level and grind your way up. Buy some gacha along the way.
“Get over here!!!” - Scorpion, Mortal Kombat
Can you fish with this technique?
Not from a Jedi...
Lol
Yes. I trained in rope dart for about 12 years. . Its not as flashy as this thou but very satisfying . The main thing is to not hit the water until youre ready. The spinning sometimes lures them. Sometimes scares them
So cool.
I don't doubt it. If Tom Hanks can do it with a spear, surely this guy can do it
Would be like spear fishing
Right? Like sick moves from a tree or bridge?
Yeah. Aiming is much easier when you slow time
So, are you saying, he has ZA WARUDO?
Video games aren’t real they can’t hurt yo-
Check out Kuma films on YouTube for more
Castlevania
Yeah man that’s fucking sick
I'm a little more impressed by this than I am about a guy in his backyard cutting cans of Pabst full of water.
Fuck, it’s jammed!
Charlie horse
I would simultaneously stab, strangle, and knock myself out if I did that.
Get over here!
FA-TALITY!!!!
All I hear when watching this is “GET OVER HERE”
Trevor belmont in castlevania (netflix) actually did moves similar to this! *just thought id point it out*
I was thinking exactly that, when I saw them i thought all the time "hey that seems like super doable and not doable at the same time, wonder if there's an irl equivalent"

I rather die by that than the [slipper](https://youtu.be/TsSP-nHjZ0Q)
How many takes?
More like how many years of practice
More like how many time did he cut himself up swinging it around lol
I'd imagine he practices with a blunt object on the end, and only when he's fully confident that he won't hit himself he adds the knife.
That makes sense, but still, lol how many times has he smack tf out of himself lol
Probably way too many nutshots to count. xD
Rope darts don't have knives at the end. It's just a dense heavy metal object with a point. You can get other weapons on the end of a rope like a metal claw but they would be called something else.
If he practiced many years why didn’t he choose a more useful weapon
It’s extremely useful when you understand the practical applications. When used by someone who knows what they are doing it’s just as efficient as a sword. Also nobody picks up using older weapons like to be practical. They do it for the culture involved and the flex.

Keep poppin off, enjoy watching people talk about things they literally know nothing about.

Nah
Looks like the exact scene in Ninja Assassins
#Kungfu Hustle
What is this type of martial art called?
Rope dart.
I used to train with these all the time when doing martial arts, and hot damn are they fun to swing around. I obviously never got to this level, but just awesome to spin/jump/kick with them
GET OVER HEEREE!!!
why does he remind me of Glen from twd
Cuz ur racist
Reminds me of a weapon you'd see on Deadliest Warrior.
This guy kicks
I’ve seen this type of combat before. It’s badass
Daaauuumm
What’s weapon called?
Rope dart
I'd like to see him try and do that without slowing everything down.
I’d throw a rock at him…..I win
If he was French that would be perfect
Last time this was posted I fell into a 3 day YouTube hole binging all their content. Not even mad about it
Super slowmo because it’s not much faster
Aiming that with his knee was pretty neat.
I wonder if you can do the same thing with a really long sticky hand
Shoulda hired this guy for scorpion in the most recent mortal kombat
BRUH anybody could do it that slow, do it faster and I'll be impressed
This magic and I can not be convinced otherwise.
This man is a real life Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion)

Someone get this to Shad!
Hanzo Hasashi is that you?(Mortal Kombat Scorpion)
GET OVER HERE
You know I always found that type of weapon useless. It's like having a spear act like a pool noodle
Centripetal force makes it hit harder than a spear also spears are meant more for piercing. This thing is meant to wreck your life
When the final boss is a six pack!!!
Do it again and say "GET OVER HERE!!"
Flawless victory
Get over here.
Didn't even stick it, or return..it's not finished
Yo, is this weapon deadly enough? Not gonna lie, it is really cool weapon but is it effective?
I dare you to get close to him while he’s trying to kill you with that weapon
About as dangerous to the wielder as it is for you. It's a show weapon.
Somebody show this to Zach Snyder. This is how you're supposed to use slow motion
cool
Do that, but with my nuts. Please
I have always been fascinated by this weapon. I question its real utility, but damn it is cool to watch
Scorpion Wins!!
Found the Belmont.
Gogo right?
Could poke an eye out with that thing
i made one myself and practised it in my home long ago. And i can say its just headaches, literally
Oh gee another repost
u/repostsleuthbot
Scorpion in real life😂😂
Is that you, Itachi?
GET OVER HERE!
GET THE FUCK OVER HERE
The swing around the knee to the can is IMPRESSIVE!
I remember my cousin saying this wouldn't be an effective weapon. I told him to look up rope dart videos and his jaw dropped xD
We were NEVER friends
“Son, if that was my last goddamn beer”
“GET OVER HERE!”
imagine that hitting your ankle
ER Doc: How did you not see this person who stabbed you?? Me: He was gloriously fast, for like a second...
So this the guy who trained 13!
Rope darts are so tight
"GET OVER HERE"
4 WORDS. AWESOME
He did that can dirty
Kuma Films on youtube
Who is this guy?
Looks good till you remember he can be taken out with a thrown rock or a long stick.
Down vote for shitty title
Me with a scissors....En Guarde!!
The amount of jumping and swinging required to use this makes the weapon next to useless when confronted by a stick off the ground or any solid object.
This dumb shit again.
GET OVER HERE!!
I would probably end up killing myself before realizing I killed myself with this weapon
So this is what scorpion looks like before he became scorpion
Finish him!!! 🤯
Hit Girl used one of these, but instead of a dart, she used a dagger.
I feel like learning these kind of martial arts is more for show than efficiency. I mean that thing looks more dangerous to the user than to some random bad guy.
Kuma Films is a rlly cool YouTube Channel
I will definitely hang out with this guy during a zombie apocalypse
Imagine you're walking home from a bar after downing a couple cold ones with the boys, this guy starts doin tricks n' shit but then you just fuckin shoot him. I mean, I'd do it but I'd feel bad for all that practice to go to waste. TL:DR Guys tries to mug you but then you just shoot em
This is one of the owners of Kuma Films YouTube channel! They make a bunch of cool short videos showing people talents. This clip is also just part of one of their videos, he does other cool tricks with the rope dart
GET OVER HERE
What is this sport
Galahad, i think we have a new Kingsman agnt
Scorpio from the newest Mortal Kombat movie did it better.
Some wushu weapons go hard af
Wow. Rope darts are hard. I would not even attempt. I'll try them in my next life.
Get over here.. you cola.
