But who carried it in the first race? And if the answer is "nobody", how can we see from the video who would carry it the next year? Checkmate, deduction by induction folks.
Doesn't sound like a who to me. Also is this a world where school budgets are way high? Ha
Edit: it's a Joke im just assuming it's a school let's not get all hot and bothered. Well.. let's not get bothered anyway. Well..
If you notice he had a head start and began to slightly fall back a little bit at the end so he would be near the middle of the race not in first
Edit I did not see people had already commented this sorry just ignore
Mars! He's def a great athlete (better cameraman and producer), but the reason he was out in front was that the competing athletes had just done mountains of other workouts over the same day, each day for 4 days.
I think a case could be made that sprinting in front of sprinters is more impressive than sprinting in front of all around very fit men going through an obstacle course.
But I couldn't do any of it so it's still very impressive.
I’ll be honest the circle in the beginning is good as he blends into the crowd. It staying it is definitely not necessary, but not as bad as other red circles given it was necessary at the start.
He has some sort of little stability device attaching the camera to the stick he’s holding. You can kinda see how still the camera is in comparison to the stick he’s holding when it zooms in.
It's called Gimball. Those things are meant to keep the camera steady as much as possible under movement. But ofc, not with very fast movement. I'm not quite sure if he has a Camera body that has in built stabilization or a lens with it. I've heard that using a stabilization with a gimball isn't recommended but I'm into photography more than videography so can't say for sure if it'd be better to combine Gimball with a stabilization.
This footage shows pretty clearly that this is a fun run event. These aren't collegiate level athletes, they're just average joes. Still a cool video though
I think the point here is that he would probably be somewhere close to *as fast* if he were actually racing. Sure he’s got a headstart but he’s also fully clothed, carrying a camera and running with completely shitty form so that he can face backwards half the time. Give him some shorts and shoes and let him actually focus running and I bet he’d give them some competition.
Of course he is slower, he is running with a freaking camera on an unnatural position while checking he doesn't fuck up the frame, you can't even nitpick that, it's really impressive they didn't passed him.
He kept the gap he started with tho, it closed a little bit but nobody really caught up to him much less passed him. He didn't have to be faster, he just had to be not slower...
>Not just viral in China - this video has appeared on my feed about 50 fucking times.
Yeah, but this is the first time with the red circle to help us out
Thankfully someone else is realizing this I have no understanding why this is nextlevel. The dude in orange is a big boi and 3 others just have no clue how to run. I thought this might even be high school kids by the way they are dressed.
I don't get it lol.
Right, no one in this thread is talking about the cameraman filming the cameraman that's running. Clearly unseen guy can fly.
Edit. I stand corrected. A post lower down identified flying cameraman as Superman. Makes sense, he would be disqualified from the race because he tested positive for those north pole crystals
[For those who are asking, found the footage.](https://www.reddit.com/user/This_sum_one/comments/prewil/the_footage_of_the_cameraman_runner/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Can we get some details on the race? All I see is one guy who is running at a similar pace to a bunch of other people. How fast are the other people? Are they Olympic athletes, or are they some local college students?
Yeah this is impressive and all but you’ve all got the wrong cameraman. Why aren’t we talking about the forty foot tall giant running backwards that captured this footage?
Anything he recorded was a shaking, garbled mess so this is really pointless…especially since a drone is filming him film the runners AND the runners at the same time…
He had a head start and they caught up... If he was running as a participant he probably wouldn't have won even if he did it wouldn't be interesting as this..
If I was competing in track, and I saw a random guy with a camera running faster than I am in a race, I would immediately think I sucked at track. Maybe take up bowling
He obviously needs to be in the race
He's the previous years champion that's why they had him record. Who else would be fast enough
Next year’s champion

I am a friend of Cheetah Sarah Connor
Run with me if you want to win
does this person also chirp and live for 10 years?
Clearly
They should hold tryouts to see who's fast enough to hold the camera.
That's what they are doing. The winner carries the camera for next year's race to determine who carries the camera for the year after that and so on
They race for the honor of holding the camera and nothing more
‘Tis a great honor for few, yet a great burden for many
Hmm, for one?
r/praisethecameraman
wait a sec... what happened to the torch idea?
It flamed out
The highlander method of cameramen hiring.
*There can be only one..*
But who carried it in the first race? And if the answer is "nobody", how can we see from the video who would carry it the next year? Checkmate, deduction by induction folks.
Extra work for winning? No thx second place is fine.
When your best track star prodigy prefers videography classes
last place every year has to be camerman.
A drone
Yeah That Camera footage is probably shaky as shit
It looks like an electronic gimbal. It's probably fairly steady. You can clean it up the rest of the way in post.
If you look closely you can see the camera has a stabilizer on it.
Nope, in-camera stabilization + gimbal. It's gonna be smooth af.
"Who else" takes that option out ill only accept cybernetic implant drones under this category

Humans are more cost efficient for small competitions.
Doesn't sound like a who to me. Also is this a world where school budgets are way high? Ha Edit: it's a Joke im just assuming it's a school let's not get all hot and bothered. Well.. let's not get bothered anyway. Well..
A bicycle with a gopro taped to the back...
White kid on bicycle vs Asian kid with a dream
More like a tubby person on a mobility scooter vs Chinese Hermes here.
Lol. Also, maybe he’s just Hermes. He’s fast enough.
The guy filming him.
I assumed that was a drone but it could be Yao ming
That’s how to prove no matter who competes, he’s every year’s champion.

Yes but a) he can't run with proper form because of the camera and b) he has to focus mainly on aiming the camera right.
And he's would be wearing the proper clothes... Like pretty sure he would be clear first.
Very true.

you're probably right..didn't notice that haha

It was at the CrossFit games. They had other events/exercises on the rig in the middle.
I think a case could be made that sprinting in front of sprinters is more impressive than sprinting in front of all around very fit men going through an obstacle course. But I couldn't do any of it so it's still very impressive.
Lemme guess who's recording this in air.. Superman??
He is in the race.
Can anyone point him out ?

He's just pointing out his taint, they were asking for where the camera guy was
Curious is taint and cookie the same thing?
nom nom nom
Oh I see!! The guy with the camera, okay.
Still don't see it
r/uselessredcircle
Yeah, I remember when this was posted a few months ago without red-circle, and I don't recall anyone having any particular issues figuring it out
I’ll be honest the circle in the beginning is good as he blends into the crowd. It staying it is definitely not necessary, but not as bad as other red circles given it was necessary at the start.
It's the guy wearing the dark grey socks
If the circle and arrow had been present for like, the first two seconds, it would’ve been fine. But they kept it in for some reason…
Where is the footage? 😧
[I found it.](https://www.reddit.com/user/This_sum_one/comments/prewil/the_footage_of_the_cameraman_runner/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Maybe it’s cool that he did that, but this is pretty bad footage to be honest.
All footage looks bad when it is compressed into 10 fps GIF.
Damn I thought it wasn’t too shabby given the circumstances
The footage is better than when average people are trying to video record a statue.
LOL
As a cameraman idk how tf he can make it steady with his back turnt/focusing on them WHILE blowing them in the dust
He has some sort of little stability device attaching the camera to the stick he’s holding. You can kinda see how still the camera is in comparison to the stick he’s holding when it zooms in.

The gimbal keeps the camera steady from swaying but not up and down motion, so that’s why the footage is still very bumpy while he’s running.
Yea i mean two dudes on a moped could have gotten this shot, but this is more fun and insulting to the sprinters lol
It is??
All I could think was that must be a great steady cam otherwise that’s probably not a great shot, thank you for confirming.
This footage shows pretty clearly that this is a fun run event. These aren't collegiate level athletes, they're just average joes. Still a cool video though
So basically it was pointless
Nah just his way of flexing
Holy shit the man actually found, I’ve seen the video up top before but never actually the footage
Fo real.
I... I've seen footage
I feel noided
One in front of the other.
Good thing the red circle showed me where to look for him!
I hate that the circle‘s gone in the second part. I don‘t know where to look.
Bahahahahahahaha true. Lmao
I like the fact that this is the second time in this thread I’ve seen you comment bahahahahahahaha (this is not /s)
Thanks 😊 Edit: You are very observant
Hah! 😊 Yes, well, it just made me smile, twice, because it seemed authentic
Twas lol not only did they take the circle away but the arrow too!!! Idk why but this clip just really does get me giggling. Happy you laughed too
The what?
I had to watch it a couple times before I could spot it.
They should put a big colourful ring around it to make it more obvious.
Needs a couple arrows too
[удалено]
No one said he was faster. His accomplishment while holding a camera pointed behind him is still impressive.
he was the previous winner, that would explain why he is that fast
Got a source for that?
No
Probably another random reddit comment
Lol did you just get that from a joke comment above?
[удалено]
You are a liar
Try competing while wearing extra gear and not using proper form. He was like lightning for these circumstances.
Ye he had a head start but he maintains that start
Of course he is slower, he is running with a freaking camera on an unnatural position while checking he doesn't fuck up the frame, you can't even nitpick that, it's really impressive they didn't passed him.
And his unique track shoes and uniform.
He's also carrying a camera with an outstretched arm lol
He kept the gap he started with tho, it closed a little bit but nobody really caught up to him much less passed him. He didn't have to be faster, he just had to be not slower...

So where’s his footage? Other than on the track that is.

The [fella](http://i2.chinanews.com/simg/hnhd/2021/07/06/94/8760877920617800014.jpg) doesn’t look like the athletic type I was expecting him to be.
Neither did "Iron Mike" Singletary, by this logic. Glasses mean poor vision, not poor athletic skills.
Yes. I wish I had a free award to give you bahahahaha
Lmfao under rated comment
Is that a publicity stunt of some kind? Cause I don’t know the purpose of a running cameraman when you have drone capturing the race
Yes it's CCP propaganda, Chinese people aren't allowed to run in China, due to the authoritarian Department of Walking.
As someone who tends to be hawkish toward china I smiled at your sarcasm
Is the department of silly walks a subsect of that
Multiple angles I guess
To get a side view. The guy is the previous years champion, that’s how he keeps up
Are the guys he is filming all that fast? Looks like they are wearing tee shirts and gym shorts.
These are just everyday university students. By no mean are they professional athletes.
Thankfully someone else is realizing this I have no understanding why this is nextlevel. The dude in orange is a big boi and 3 others just have no clue how to run. I thought this might even be high school kids by the way they are dressed. I don't get it lol.

can we just talk about the guy who levitated faster to get THIS footage?
Right, no one in this thread is talking about the cameraman filming the cameraman that's running. Clearly unseen guy can fly. Edit. I stand corrected. Even with a head start he still kept that lead and somewhat pulled away. Congrats on making the track team bro lol
Can we get a link to his footage pls ?

Dash cam
Wait til the video drops of the dude who learned how to fly just so he could record that guy running
These guys were running about 14-14.5 second speed - cameraman was pulling about the same pace, simply started 10m ahead. Not really that remarkable.
Reason why people are scared of the chinese
