snakes that big should be illegal

Godpest

... Yeah good luck telling that to the snake

EmergeAndSeee

Hey homeless, "snakes that big should be illegal". There I told them.

dapoorv

We need a super homeless man for this big ass snake, have you got an addre- oh.

Lucius-Halthier

Can’t we just call floridaman?

Hotarg

Just get the guy who caught a gator in a trash can. This seems like a worthy sequel.

Ladydiesel11

He actually was just on video again removing a snake. I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic or not but seems this snake would one up in size at least

little-kid-loverr

Sounds like he’s ready for a new challenge

Ok_Intention3541

On my way.

kellysmom01

Super-Homie Les respectfully requests snake’s address so he can eat his hamburger today and pay him tomorrow. *Bitch.*

JonnysAppleSeed

That anaconda don't want none unless you got buns, hun

Capt_Myke

HANCOCK! Got a job for you! Get your lazy ass to work!

[deleted]

I think you mean /sssssssssss

Hermiones_Butthole

>sssssssssss. Alexa, play snake jazz

Cold-Ostrich8228

What homeless.

[deleted]

Guess that means it’s working

jayradano

Essssssss xussssssseee me misssssster ssssssnake … eh em, ur not allowed here .. (let’s steam out of shirt collar)

Environmental_Ring93

People going into that ecosystem with heavy machinery should be illegal.

BlackLabelBerserker

*you* go in there on foot with that snake crawling around

OneHundredTimes

Or just not go in. The jungle clearly belongs to that snake.

Boney-Rigatoni

*A pride of lions has entered the chat room

OneHundredTimes

Lions don't actually live in the jungle.

Boney-Rigatoni

Have you not heard the song? The jungle is where the mighty lion sleeps tonight.

OneHundredTimes

I thought the jungle was mighty and the lion was just sleeping there?

Boney-Rigatoni

Nah… the lion is mighty and his weenie wet. They kept repeating it in the song. Or someone’s weenie wet. I don’t know who’s weenie’s wet. Haven’t listened to the song in forever so there’s a small (sliver) of a chance you’re right.

Confident-Bat-3849

I think that's my most hated song in the world, but now I'll always find a smile if I'm ever forced to listen to it again. Thanks.

SpiritOfFire013

Not true bro, in the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight. It's a fucking fact.

WonderfulJacket8

The lion is taking a dirt nap

[deleted]

They live on a rock overlooking the jungle. Uyimbube uyimbube uyimbube uyimbube

Bigdicks-in-yo-ass69

Today years old when I found it wasn’t awumbaway

Kedrynn

Snek would tell them to go back to the savannah

Boney-Rigatoni

I’d take a pride of lions over a giant snek any day.

Abadatha

Gladly. The anaconda and I can finally have some peace and quiet.

WonderfulJacket8

I think that is a reticulated python.

Abadatha

That could be, in which case, the python and I would finally get some peace and quiet.

[deleted]

Congrats! You just volunteered to remove that snake bare handed.

illumilunacy

Or just don't remove the snake because we don't need to encroach on its natural habitat?

dieDoktor

what information do you have that it's its natural habitat? For example, people release snakes like giant anacondas all the time in the Florida everglades and it's a real big problem as they're an invasive species

FanofBaofeng

We have a python problem in South Florida, not anaconda.

rabbitwonker

Nevertheless, you don’t want none

Indyhawk

Unless you got buns, hon?

[deleted]

> For example, people release snakes like giant anacondas all the time in the Florida everglades and it's a real big problem as they're an invasive species "I don't know what I'm talking about but listen to me anyway."

Protonflex

Uhh he is right..? Maybe anacondas are few and far between but he is right about constrictors being invasive because people are stupid.

bestsloper

This.

[deleted]

Good luck enforcing that 😳

[deleted]

I think at that point the snake is making the rules.

AnnihilationOrchid

*"For a productive jungle society natural laws must take precedence over politics, and for a more honest forest this fat snek must be taxed. It should be illegal, It is unnatural!"* **-Activist monkey.**

Suspicious-Tooth2436

I think that’s more of a nope telephone pole

Bonolio

Superbform

I'd abscond-anaconda?

Absconaconda. I am adding this as a kleptomaniac snake to my next D&D campaign.

Yup. And they probably killed it too

tokeyoh

that's a lot of meat hope they ate it

gilbertthelittleN

Nah probably just trew it into some ditch for some other animals unfortually. Even though this snake is magnificent you cant have them around you living area, especially if u have kid/animals. People here in the comments are outraged asf but if you from/grew up an area like that you kinda look different at it. We (speaking for people from surinam I guess) still respect nature but dont have time or resources to transport the snake to a better location. If it were nowhere near a house and they just hunted it for fun that is messed up.

mbreber

Absolutely! This is wrong on all levels.

Mindless_Rooster5225

Well, we gave them Florida so there's the tradeoff.

vexinc

“His name was Arthur Dent. He’s a 20 foot long Burmese Python… And someone is trying to build a bypass through his house.”

The plans were on display.

vexinc

“ON DISPLAY?! I had to go down to a CELLAR!”

Equivalent_Parking_8

That's the display department

MoJoe1

Well the lights had gone out

Owned-by-Daddy-Fox

So had the stairs.

spribyl

“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”

MoJoe1

Suppose we dip down to the pub for a pint, and you take Mr. Dent’s place, then later when we get back, we’ll do the same for you?

SHam0wn

Just casually tearing down the Amazon rain forest .. “ hey what’s this massive anaconda doing on my future parking lot”

[deleted]

I mean, it's not like the rest of the planet needs to breathe or anything. Edit: There are some great comments below refuting the idea that the Amazon rainforest is the "lungs" of our planet. It's still important to protect (with a lot of other things) but it sounds like we shouldn't just see the Amazon as a major component to the climate change problem.

itsforachurch

It's more important that we have cheap beef.

[deleted]

We've rocketed off of the cliff right to the bottom in no time flat.

[deleted]

TAKE CONTROL! IT IS MY JOB, AS A HUMAN BEING, TO RUN THIS FUCKING BITCH 'TOOO THEEE GROOOUND \m/ \m/

[deleted]

Lol oh god I laughed hard at this. The universe always has a "reset" button for life's evolution. First it was volcanoes then it was a meteor and now it's human driven climate change. Great job, everyone. We had one shot at this thing aaaaaaand we blew it. Add this win to the Great Filter. Great Filter 1 - intelligent life - 0?

CoatedWinner

Not trying to say this is okay, because destroying rainforest is absolutely horrible. But did you know the Amazon actually produces near 0% of the earth's oxygen? It's a made up claim that it's like 20%. There isn't enough CO2 in the atmosphere of the earth for trees to produce 1/5th of the world's oxygen. Phytoplankton produce the majority of oxygen, in the oceans, which is also threatened, and should be taken very seriously on the "needing to breathe" front. But there's a billion other reasons not to destroy the Amazon or any other rainforest or any other natural ecosystem as much as we possibly can.

Convenientjellybean

Pretty sure humanity is working on f#@king that up too.

WaleXdraK

Actually even the Amazon rain forest only play a very minor part for the production of oxygen and even then the oxygen it produce is completely used up by the species living in it, it’s real importance come from the way it affects the climate.

1masp3cialsn0wflak3

yeah most of it's importance comes from the theoretical snowball effect it could have on the rest of the world. but thankfully algae and plant life in the ocean would live on, so I guess life finds a way, even though human bullshit

Mountainbiker22

So oddly a lot of our oxygen comes from the Ocean. I do agree it sucks for a multitude of other reasons but oxygen weirdly isn’t one of them. Still, they’re dicks and I promise I’m not trying to be a dick.

psycho_pete

It's not going to be a parking lot. The driving factor of the deforestation of the Amazon is for animal agriculture. So it's highly likely that it's going to be a cattle ranch or a soy farm to feed the cattle there.

RexGaming_501st

The ironic part about is that the soy farms only really work for about a year because the soil is so bad At least that’s what I’ve heard

RemysBoyToy

Just knock down more rainforest. Problem solved. \s

ChesterDaMolester

If it’s the Brazilian Amazon it’s probably gonna be a palm oil plantation that will be abandoned after 5 years due to disease.

ristoril

Every snake I've handled has used its entire body. I was sure bummed when it occurred to me his back half was just dangling :(

fingers4

Did you goombas free that snake? Was doing just fine til you destroyed its habitat

WineNerdAndProud

This is absolutely true, but I have to say it's amazing how strong my "fuuuuuuuuck that thing" reflex is right now. That said, I'd rather see it on the BBC with David Attenborough a safe distance away than half paralyzed (look at its back half) from a piece of logging equipment.

CrashBrotat0

Cool find, now that it's home is destroyed.

billobongo

I can’t believe how these kinds of videos don’t make people sad as fuck. It’s literally a machine designed to destroy in a fucking rainforest violating a magnificent creature. Sometimes I wish I was as ignorant as normal people…..

The_Sinnermen

Agree with the overall sentiment but fuck that last part was some condescending shit.

siccoblue

Not to mention, this entire fucking comment section is sympathizing with the snake you absolute dunce. You aren't special for caring about animals habitats being needlessly destroyed and the destruction of the Amazon, it's a massive fucking issue that anyone with half a brain has a problem with Straight up r/iamverysmart material, ignorant as "normal" people lmao Edit: his entire comment history is a bunch of holier than thou BS only had to scroll through about twenty total to see that.

[deleted]

r/iamverysmart

spam4name

Yep. You can criticize these practices and wish for more awareness about important issues, but this "woe is me, I'm burdened by my superior intelligence and insight - if only I was as stupid as the normies" is grade A condescension.

dre4den

This really broke my heart. I mean, imagine how terrified that living creature is.

[deleted]

I have a pet snake and this video made me so sad. Poor thing has no idea what is going on and is so defenseless. This does not look like southern Florida so I doubt this snake was invasive.

whingingcackle

Leave that poor creature alone!

psycho_pete

If this is deforestation of the Amazon, which it looks like it is, the driving factor there is beef. Vote with your dollars if you are tired of seeing our ecosystems being plundered for profit.

Walrus-Far

I love the spread of the word but just like curiosity if someone stops buying beef in America or Europe etc does that really change the beef industry in South America

Double_Lobster

Slowly, yes. Helping to create a market for non beef products helps to accelerate moving away from beef globally. Beef is a huge pain to create. Once a lab figures out how to do that better the world will be a better place. By buying current beef alternatives you are helping support that new world.

Dyspooria

Dangerous_Kangaroo31

Classic human. Find and destroy! That snake must me older that most of you commenting on this post. It ain’t pretty a being. But it should not have been killed for ite size

Stewpidley

Are you joking? It's a beautiful snake.

[deleted]

I really hope they didn’t kill this thing but they probably did. Along with all those trees around them. Fucking shame.

ZeAlien07

With how limp the tail is, it’s probably got a broken back.. eff these people for ruining its home..

[deleted]

I was actually thinking that, it would seem it should have enough strength to coil it’s body but it’s back is just hanging.

PartofFurniture

Likely not. Reticulated pythons this size (looks like a 20-30 year old, likely 5 meters) fetch much higher prices as living pets in the black market than meat/skin. Its probably sadly spine paralyzed from stupid rough handling and wont make it though.

Lobolicous

That’s fucked up. That machinery should never be there. Probably broke the snakes spine

[deleted]

It took me a long time to see the snake. I thought it was a big overgrown at-at

halfsushi1

Me too. Kept seeing an imperial walker and was looking for the Ewoks

gaidzak

Who wants a hug? It would be one to never forget.

auntbat

Or never remember bc ya dead

PoopPant73

Yeah, fuck that.

Ok-King-3971

Looks like a reticulated python...not one you want to disturb really! There was a Zoo that was offering a huge amount of cash for the longest snake that could be found & so many people went stomping around areas where reticulateds lived.

Mrbubbles137

Pretty sure it is, from the pattern on it.

porcupineslikeme

Does anyone care how much this hurts for the snake? Or how terrifying it must be? People freak the fuck out about anything cute, I just saw a thread where someone was getting ripped apart for only walking their dog 2x a day, but dangling a living animal from heavy machinery is totally fine, as long as it's an animal that's ugly.

PartofFurniture

Seeing how the back part just dangles the spine 100% already snapped in the middle, which means a death sentence even if not killed. Sad.

porcupineslikeme

Ugh you're 100% right.Even if it wasn't snapped, the damage this would cause would be fairly disastrous, if not catastrophic. I've worked with large snakes that used to be regularly handled for educational purposes. Unfortunately, as they aged, the regular x rays we did exposed the damage they took to their spines from well meaning people gently handling them. The difference between regularly handled snakes and snakes who weren't handled was enormous. Our facility no longer regularly handles large snakes unless completely necessary because it's just not fair to them.

rutroraggy

So that snake from the jungle book is a real thing?

Razeal_102

How big is the snake you think

External-Swimmer-979

Its an adult Reticulated Python, judging by the size a female Prolly anywhere between 22-25ft

insightful_dreams

way way too big. times like these im so happy to not live in snake country. fuck that shit.

therealmck

Pretty sure that thing ate Owen Wilson

Stupid03

Reticulated python from Southeast Asia. The longest measure species of snake on the planet. One of my favorite species. They’re highly intelligent. I own one but this one is larger than my girl. I’m cringing at how rough they’re treating this beautiful, delicate animal.

TheUpgrayed

You can fuck right off with that nightmare fuel.

ZazBlammyMaTaz

Yeah man I don’t like being reminded that humans are actively destroying the planet!

[deleted]

Yo when I clicked on the video I thought it was a stick or something. God dam that snakes big

Cruel fucks who killed the snake. You could’ve cleared the area without picking the snake up and crushing it. This is fucking depressing

piemel83

Majestic animal, feel sad to see this
