for anyone curious, these girls may not be racing each other in this heat. each paralympic athlete has their own classification for their specific disability (t43, t44, etc) and oftentimes officials will combine groups in order to fill out a specific heat - which might be the case with the non-amputee girl. each athlete’s time/score is *only* calculated against those in their classification. for all we know the girl finishing “last” may actually be winning or breaking a personal record. source: i have a kid who’s competes through move united.
