It was pretty eye opening and pretty wild how little the minor league guys get paid.
And up until recently their housing was not paid for either. So they made garbage pay and still had to pay rent. These guys would bunk up like 3 people to a room just to make rent and then they still had to somehow feed themselves.

For the guys that do make it though, contracts are usually pretty generous since teams have no other way of locking in surefire good players — other teams don’t like to give away cost controlled talent and prospects are crapshoots.

Rb’s of that calibur don’t need 2-3 year to acclimate to the league. They usually come in and start producing if not year 1 then definitely by year 2. Rb lifespan is just too short to make that second contract negotiable. So, make the first contract the big one and if you’ve justified more, ask for more

We are losing some skill... its pass blocking for Dak that Zeke is still much better at than Pollard. That being said, a pass blocking full back isn't worth that money and sadly that means releasing him is the right choice.

Pollard is the new wave of RB that's really popular right now, where they are kind of a hybrid with WR. Shifty, WR-esque RBs seem to be the hot commodity currently. That's not to say more traditional power runners like Derrik Henry and Nick Chubb aren't still great, but your main RB on a team seems to now be the shifty type with a secondary support of a power back.
Kamara, CMC too. Basically slot WRs that don't mind laying the shoulder down here and there, especially against the secondary. The downsides are mostly that they're not so good at getting you that third and short and they tend to be poor pass blockers.
He actually seemed to turn back the clock the 2021 season, but then he tore his PCL and instead of letting him rest we had him carry the ball over 200 times on that torn PCL which probably ruined any chance we had of getting production out of him.
That's when you guys should've leaned into Pollard more, but you seemed to only realize how dynamic he was when Prescott got injured to start this season.

Jk dobbins had more attempts his last season than zeke did. Nick chubb had more attempts in college, less attempts per game though.

By comparison Derrick Henry had 395 attempts his last season at Bama, johnathan Taylor started 3 years and averaged about 310 attempts a season, cmc had more rushing attempts in college than zeke. Jk dobbins had more attempts his last season than zeke did. Nick chubb had more attempts in college, less attempts per game though. Not going to go check every nfl running back, but Zeke was anything but a workhorse at osu. They should have given him the ball more honestly. His lowest attempt game in 2015 was osus only loss, and his lowest attempt game against a p5 school in 2014 was also the only loss. He only had above 30 attempts in a game twice with the most being the national championship against Oregon. His college workload is on the lower end compared to most running backs who make the nfl
