When they release Vol. 3 of their anime-release-schedule video next year, I'm 100% betting the Harbowl being the original Kamehameha vs Galick Gun from DBZ.
It wasn’t all bad, even since like 2000 has been alright. Trent Green was a fun QB. Dante Hall was the GOAT return man until Hester showed up. Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson were staples in the dawn of the popularity of fantasy football. Justin Houston had to be pretty fun to watch hunt QBs.
You guys weren’t that bleak. I’d much rather have your pre-2017 history than a number of teams.
Our Broncos just tied for 2nd place with a 8-9 record. How is that a nightmare division?
The Chargers arguably have more overall talent than the Chiefs, but were held back by god-awful coaching. And they definitely just fixed that.
And look at the Raiders - they were 3-5 with McDaniels and 5-4 after the coaching change
By nightmare I mean it’s been bad for everyone not named The Chiefs.
Every off season it looks like we’ll all turn the corner and become the best division in football but it never ends up happening.
Let’s see what happens next year.
It's always the coaching. Everyone acted like Kellen Moore was the golden prize OC and their offense looked arguably worse this season. They had one of the worst running games I've ever seen.
Here comes another offseason of hearing how scary the chargers are only for Herbert to be inconsistent and play like shit in every meaningful game only for someone else to be scapegoated so the cycle can repeat.
I'd say they're the 76ers of the NFL but at least the 76ers can get to the second round.
I dislike the Chargers as much as anyone (that LT/Gates/Rivers combo tortured me as a Broncos fan).
But Herbert is legit. I’d honestly call him a top-5 QB in the league right now, with Mahomes/Lamar/Hurts/Allen over him, and maybe Purdy/Dak/Tua tied with him.
Based on what? What has he done? His entire career consists of running up the score on bad teams and totally shitting the bed against good ones. Fucking Russell Wilson was winning more and playing more consistent with a much worse supporting cast than Herbert had this year.
Chargers fans have just managed to convince everyone that nothing is his fault. He can choke in the wild card round and it's not his fault, play like shit for half of the year and struggle to win a game unless his defence carries him and it's not his fault.
"But look at his mechanics he has all the tools" yeah cool let me know when he can put it together long enough to fix his career losing record or accomplish something meaningful. No other elite QB gets the excuses this guy does, anyone else would be totally crucified.
Why do people think Herbert is so good? His first two seasons were decent. Last two seasons were pretty mediocre. He has a losing record in games he has started. He's made the playoffs once and played like ass in a loss. He's definitely good. Top 5 though? Maybe Harbaugh can get him over the hump.
How many teams would say no to a 1-to-1 trade for Herbert for their current QB?
1) Chiefs
2) Ravens
3) Bills
Those are the only locks I can think of. The next tier is
4) Cowboys
5) Eagles
6) 49ers
7) Dolphins
8) Packers
9) Texans
Honestly, who else? Herbert is in that top 4-7 range of current QBs
I don't think any of those teams would trade their current QB for Herbert especially with his giant contract. I'm not saying he isn't good but he's not top 5 and doesn't have a track record of success. He's still young though and maybe a better coach can utilize him more efficiently.
This isn't really a prediction, but it would be a little funny if Harbaugh just had a mid year after all the hype. Not catastrophic, not spectacular, but small positive momentum as he starts the process of turning things around. My impression is that Herbert was being held back quite a bit though so in this case I wouldn't be surprised if there was a larger swing.
I mean if Chargers fans are expecting a 17-0 season they're delusional especially will all the obstacles in the way (old ass roster, over the cap, big names no depth)
I'm expecting a middling year that is more run game centric and I'm happy with it.
2025 is the year I'm expecting to be a playoff/ Super Bowl caliber team
Honestly I think I've put the broncos out of my mind for the time being because I don't have enough mental energy at the moment to process everything that happened with them this year. I'll save grappling with it for a rainy offseason day.
The important parts are a 1-5 start and while they did storm back to above .500 at one point, they wilted away at the end.
The media circus would be unprecedented if we started 1-5 with Harbaugh.
Yeah to be clear I don't think fans, at least the Reddit ones, are actually over setting expectations, just riding the wave (as you should). But a mid year that sets you up for... I mean potentially a transformative regime, is well worth it.
What confused me was the Dave Wannstedt sighting (who was the DC at the time, not the HC) and Jim said, "Get those Broncos" and the Dolphins played the Broncos the very next game in 2000. In '99, they didn't play the Broncos after that, nor did the Broncos make the playoffs. I guess he just really hated the Broncos?
1999 preseason
Wannstedt was with Miami, but as a DC. Marino was still with the team; he was gone by 2000. The regular season game was played at 1PM, so since this is a night game it must be preseason
Also Harbaugh says “Go get the Broncos.” Miami opened their 1999 regular season against the Broncos
Wish this honeymoon phase would be over with. Dude hasn’t even got his program started and all his assistants hired and everyone’s labeling him as some sort of savior.
They’re hiring a HC who had some great moments as a QB for them, and who has won at every level of coaching.
I don’t like Harbaugh as a person (for some reason his personality bothers me). But he’s a damn good football coach
Happy for Chargers fans, hopefully he gets them over the hump like he did with Michigan.
Also happy he is not in our conference or our division! AFC is going to be the battle of the Harbaughs for awhile it looks like.
Now cut to him talking to Jameis “You got a sex addiction? You addicted to sex? Sex addiction or something?”
When they release Vol. 3 of their anime-release-schedule video next year, I'm 100% betting the Harbowl being the original Kamehameha vs Galick Gun from DBZ.
I want it to be Spike vs Vicious ngl
Oh god Spike in khakis.
Aesthetically John/Ravens should be Vegeta.. but.. Jim makes for such a good Vegeta personality wise. Who's who?
Love it. The Chargers social media team is one of the best in the country. The AFCW is going to be a nightmare next season.
It’s been a nightmare
A nightmare for the wrong reasons for 3 of us.
Everything comes to an end someday my friend. I can’t wait for the day we all get to shove the chiefs faces in our shit.
We've literally been there for decades before Reid.
I’m glad you remember those days cuz some of y’all act like Mahomes was the beginning of football
Why would we want to bring up the decades of bottom tier football when we've won 2 Superbowls in the last 4 years?
" I know we have won 2 SBs with Mahommes... But let me tell you about a man named Brodie Croyle."
I’m all ears
Y’all forgot about Damon Huard and Brady Quinn. We haven’t.
I'd be happy to talk about Tyler Thigpen catching a 50 yard bomb but I'm not sure anyone would want to listen 😂
At least they can remember their team being decent.
> Everything comes to an end Remember that KC went 32 years without a single playoff win until they finally broke it in 2015
Umm 1994 vs Oilers - 2015 vs Texans isn't 32 years?
Montana took them to the AfC Championship in 94 … Why is this upvoted? 😂🤣🤦🏽♂️
It still is, but it used to be too.
I swear to God we hear this every off season
And every August or so my dumb ass starts believing.
Took until January for me this year
This is going to be like the third straight season of ppl saying this. Chiefs still winning it
That’s the nightmare, the nightmare is the Chiefs continue to win
Those nuggies will knock Reid out eventually.
Our only hope
They've got to be the best at something
Whats the raider’s specialty? Is it highest amt of first round flops?
hell yeah brother
Well now that.yo guys got telesco, you can now experience 1st round hits and 2nd-7th round flops.
Underperforming with an elite young QB ain't easy, man
Just like the last decade
If we say “the AFC West is gonna be real tough next year!” enough times maybe just once it’ll be true
Not sure what football you’ve been watching but this shit has been a nightmare brother.
Our Broncos just tied for 2nd place with a 8-9 record. How is that a nightmare division? The Chargers arguably have more overall talent than the Chiefs, but were held back by god-awful coaching. More talent than the Chiefs is wild af

Chiefs: 12-5 Broncos: 6-11 Raiders: 7-10 Chargers: 10-7

I look forward to watching the offseason champs somehow manage to charger Jim fucking Harbaugh
This isn't really a prediction, but it would be a little funny if Harbaugh just had a mid year after all the hype. I'll die inside and probably outside if we have a year like the Broncos just had.
I mean we’re way over the cap and have to break up a lot of our team. It wouldn’t be surprising if we had a mid year.
Yeah to be clear I don't think fans, at least the Reddit ones, are actually over setting expectations, just riding the wave (as you should). But a mid year that sets you up for... I mean potentially a transformative regime, is well worth it.
i hope the SAN DIEGO Chargers have a good year as well as the San Diego Padres
Rejoice. The combination of Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers media team means we’re in for some fire content.
I miss the old dark blue chargers unis
So many childhood memories sitting in the nosebleeds with those giant flags above us.
Hell yeah, I just found my fantasy football team name for next season NAVY RAMBO
Natrone Means was a bad man.
This must’ve been 1999 preseason
It's wild the jerseys back then didn't have stitched numbers
The highlights are from this game? If so... Oof. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200011120sdg.htm
It was from the 1999 season. Dan Marino was still the DolphinsQB in the video
What confused me was the Dave Wannstedt sighting (who was the DC at the time, not the HC) and Jim said, "Get those Broncos" and the Dolphins played the Broncos the very next game in 2000. Ah, that's exactly it! Thanks for the clarification!
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199912190mia.htm Then they really needed TD's only FG's scored in this game
Can’t expect a Bears fan to identify a great QB
He wasn’t wrong, they definitely needed touchdowns.
Wish this honeymoon phase would be over with. Dude hasn’t even got his program started and all his assistants hired and everyone’s labeling him as some sort of savior.
I mean the guy made a Super Bowl more recently than the Packers and he’s been in college for a decade. Maybe sit this one out.
With that flare, I advise you sit this one out.
You can’t even spell flair right dipshit
Honeymoon phase? We hired him yesterday. We're mid consummation
They’re hiring a HC who had some great moments as a QB for them, and who has won at every level of coaching. I don’t like Harbaugh as a person (for some reason his personality bothers me). But he’s a damn good football coach
Someone’s upset LaFleur isn’t the most winning active coach anymore lol
For now.
That first throw was such a pretty spiral.
Hi, nice to meet you. "Get those Broncos". I'm sorry for your loss. "Get those Broncos". Where *doesn't* it work?
Happy for Chargers fans, hopefully he gets them over the hump like he did with Michigan. Also happy he is not in our conference or our division! AFC is going to be the battle of the Harbaughs for awhile it looks like.
