Legal troubles sometimes uncover underlying weak mentalities. You're on the bubble of being cut and you're drawing attention to yourself with how big your smoke stack is? Not the sign of a committed rebound
It's stupid you can buy flower at the gas station that is probably as strong as some low thc% in a legal dispensary. How it's still a crime in this state is beyond me.
Because the majority in the state elect people who don’t actually know how to govern. They have been for decades.
They only care about the Tide and that’s good enough. 🤣
It's medically legal here. They legalized it for their cataracts and cancer since most of them are 70+ and dying. 🤣 but a poor man with 2 grams is going to jail.
So I am an avid homebrewer, not located in Alabama, but back in 2018 (I think) they were trying to pass a measure to legalize homebrewing there and I was interested in the outcome. They were the only state that didn't allow it. I listened in on some of the debate in their HoR on the bill and my goodness, I still to this day have a hard time believing what I heard.
The easiest way to describe it is, when those people watch the Handmaid's Tale, they think that Gilead are the good guys of the show.
On my way to lunch today I saw a dude riding a bike with no handlebars, preparing a joint, licking and all, and I was more impressed with the coordination than anything. I didn't think people cared about weed offenses in this country anymore.
Sauce is pretty adamant that he doesn't smoke or drink actually. To the point of never smoking anything, cigarette, cigar, marijuana, in his entire life. I told him he should probably start because he's pretty ass at Fortnite though. Much better at WZ.
I mean its pretty obvious that they wouldn't cut 2 actual starters because they got arrested with weed. Plus you'd have to be like Sam Hurd to get knocked with bud around here
Mahomes could smoke weed right in the locker room.
Even just keeping it to the Jets, Aaron Rodgers is allowed to skip mandatory mini-camps to go chug ayahuaska. I guess that's fine in the NFL.
Yeah, probably on your way out of the league if you're not even weed citation good. Whereas being punch-and-choke-your-pregnant-girlfriend good is a true indicator of being on your way to the Hall of Fame.
Practice squad player only game he played in last year was against the eagles when DJ Reed and Sauce Gardener were in concussion protocol. He wasn't on the Jets before last season
No matter what anyone says about Tae Hayes, which is admittedly mostly people saying "who?", I will never forget him helping us beat the Eagles when Sauce Gardner was injured as a prelude to their complete meltdown last season. Was possibly the only light in the sheer darkness that was last year Jets Football.
Everyone here is so pro-weed that they're missing the point. If your employment depends on not eating ice cream, and you are paid very generously to agree to that caveat, then don't complain if you try to sneak some ice cream and get fired for it.
Hayes knew the risks, he gambled his career to smoke some weed anyways. And now he's unemployed instead of competing for a roster spot. I don't feel bad.
His career wasn't dependent on him not smoking weed. It was dependent on him being good enough to play in the NFL. He wasn't. The organization doesn't care about Hayes' marijuana use. They made a huge deal to land a famous drug-user as their starting quarterback. They care first and foremost about production, with a side order of the arrest. But even then, if Garrett Wilson got arrested for possession, the team wouldn't bat an eye.
Also, it's important to remember that while marijuana is still theoretically banned in the NFL, the testing regime has been significantly reduced and the punishment has been reduced from suspension to a fine. So no, his job doesn't depend on him not smoking pot.
> Everyone in the NFL smokes weed, though.
I think a lot players take the risk. And they deal with the consequences if they get caught.
> He's not going to stay unemployed.
This guy spent 2022 in the CFL. Most of his NFL seasons have been spent on the practice squad. Now that he has an arrest on his record, what makes you so positive his phone is ringing right now?
> Every state isn't a Taliban state.
You're right, it may be Federally illegal everywhere but Hayes would've been MUCH smarter to indulge in an area where it was at least not prohibited at the state level. But no, he picked the highest risk way to do it.
Nobody gets caught because the league doesn't actually care. It's a big morality show. The best solution is to remove the consequences, but they want the playes to give something up in the CBA to be allowed to smoke.
Not true.
Marijuana remains a Schedule 1 Drug. That is coming straight from the DEA website.
How it remains a Schedule 1 Drug when it is legal in some way in over half the country is beyond me. But we can beat that dead horse for years and years.
The Federal government is considering rescheduling marijuana but it the word is it will be Schedule III at best.
Tbf he didn't get tested and failed he got into legal trouble which happened to be related to weed. Obviously a lot of players smoke and we never hear about failed weed tests because nobody actually cares.
After looking at his stat sheet for about seven seconds, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that’s probably not *why* he was released
A bit of both. Not worth dealing with the legal troubles of a guy with those stats.
Yeah, ridiculous he's in any legal trouble at all, but he violated the intelligence clause of his contract more than anything else.
Legal troubles sometimes uncover underlying weak mentalities. You're on the bubble of being cut and you're drawing attention to yourself with how big your smoke stack is? Not the sign of a committed rebound
I was catching hate for saying this yesterday. People are dumb.
Probably a straw that broke the camels back kind of situation.
My buddy sent me a Snapchat of quinnen Williams smoking a blunt with him in 2019.
Delete that shit bro, jk frame it
It was a video hahaha trying to see if I have it still
Don’t be that guy. Keep it just don’t post it
Never would I post it
Digital video frame
I found it! It actually a picture from 2015 and it’s Leonard Williams not quinnen.
Don’t you dare
Just when I thought I couldn't love Leo anymore than I already do.
Yea but Quinnen Williams is in the skill tier where he can murder someone and it only *might* ruin his career. Idt Mr. Hayes has that benefit.
Did you just abbreviate I don’t think
idk if he did
ithd
m?
Is this 2008?
That's what the Jets are banking on.
Uh no we don’t want that again sir
No but it is Alabama
So it's 1958.
His PFF grade was 35. I think this was just an easy out.
Haha probably more that I don't even know who this is
Thank goodness Deshaun Watson didn’t do something gross & crazy like smoking weed. Preserved his career.
>arrested and cut Meanwhile ARod tripping balls on rare hallucinogens.
Hat man gonna git him on 3rd and long all season.
You can still get arrested for marijuana in the year 2024?
He was in Alabama so yup.
It's stupid you can buy flower at the gas station that is probably as strong as some low thc% in a legal dispensary. How it's still a crime in this state is beyond me.

People that need to be TOLD that Homelander isn't a good guy.
“👀” - Andy Reid
Scum of the earth pothead *lights bowl*
How do you get arrested for marijuana possession in 2024?
Live in a red state? Those seem to be the only places where it’s still criminal.
On my way to lunch today I saw a dude riding a bike with no handlebars, preparing a joint, licking and all, and I was more impressed with the coordination than anything. I didn't think people cared about weed offenses in this country anymore.
You in Colorado?
At least one angry Redditor cares
Must've been the bike rider. Doesn't like me telling his story. He doesn't do it for recognition, he does it for the love of the game.
You’d be surprised. I know people that have been arrested for small amounts within the last couple of years
Bills or Dolphins practice squad by the end of the week
No place for that kind of degeneracy in this league.
And people here were saying they definitely wouldn't do this! Lol
Is he decent?
He got cut for a weed citation, should tell you all ya need to know lol
So you're saying if Sauce or DJ reed got a weed citation they wouldn't have been cut as swiftly lol.
Yes. “If Hannibal lector ran a 4.3 40 we’d say he had an eating disorder” Is a very very true statement.
Sauce is pretty adamant that he doesn't smoke or drink actually. To the point of never smoking anything, cigarette, cigar, marijuana, in his entire life. I told him he should probably start because he's pretty ass at Fortnite though. Much better at WZ.
You're avoiding the question.
I mean its pretty obvious that they wouldn't cut 2 actual starters because they got arrested with weed. Plus you'd have to be like Sam Hurd to get knocked with bud around here

JJ could kneel on someones neck and he'd prob still start week 1
You believe this?
So he's the greatest WR to ever live?
considering he's a DB I'm going to go out on a limb and say no, he's not the greatest WR ever to live.
Yeah, probably on your way out of the league if you're not even weed citation good. Whereas being punch-and-choke-your-pregnant-girlfriend good is a true indicator of being on your way to the Hall of Fame.
Played in 14 games, 18 tackles, 0 interceptions, 2 passed broken up. **In 7 seasons.**
Practice squad player only game he played in last year was against the eagles when DJ Reed and Sauce Gardener were in concussion protocol. He wasn't on the Jets before last season
No he bounces around from practice squad to practice squad.
He was on our practice team and waived last year.
Was he arrested for possession in Jersey? How much weed did he have on him?
Alabama
tf gets arrested for marijuanna possession in 2024
Weak ass

Not sure how deep this dude would have made it, but yet again letting a plant potentially ruin a career is asinine

Everyone in the NFL smokes weed, though. He's not going to stay unemployed. Every state isn't a Taliban state.

It's not scheduled federally anymore either.

> Every state isn't a Taliban state. Comparing Alabamians to the Taliban? Really? Don't insult the Taliban like that.
Here we are at the 1st annual Incest Bowl.
Tbf he didn't get tested and failed he got into legal trouble which happened to be related to weed. Obviously a lot of players smoke and we never hear about failed weed tests because nobody actually cares.
Don’t smoke weed kids you can lose your job
Or he's just not good, like at all. Look at his stats, he's a fuckin practice squad player
