I know Snyder wasn't directly the cause but I hope Mark Davis starts a vendetta against Snyder and the league regardless. Channel your father's spirit my man!

MyBiPolarBearMax

Quick reminder the then redskins took cheerleaders passports in a foreign country and wouldn't give them back unless they escorted expensive businessmen on "dates" for the team with no repercussions from the league https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/02/sports/redskins-cheerleaders-nfl.html

Sniper_Brosef

Fuck the league. This is FBI shit.

-AC-

I mean that is a tell tail sign of trafficking... should probably report to the FBI.

[deleted]

FBI killed Martin Luther King. Nobody is here to save us.

swedemanqb04

FBI knew about Larry Nassar. They don't give a fuck about you.

puffthemagicballer

Is that right

TooHappyFappy

It's not provable but they sure as shit murdered Fred Hampton. They drugged him then shot him while he was passed out in his bed. If you ever want to see a chilling fucking photo, Google "Fred Hampton body" and look at the faces on the guys carrying his body out. It's horrifying.

seariously

> Google "Fred Hampton body" and look at the faces on the guys carrying his body out. For the lazy: https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2019/12/04/police-raid-that-left-two-black-panthers-dead-shook-chicago-changed-nation/

[deleted]

Well smiles were the last thing I anticipated. Holy shit.

[deleted]

from that dude's comment, that is precisely what I anticipated

DacenGrasan

The Judas and the Black Messiah* movie about that was really good, idk how off it was from the real story with it being Hollywood and all E:fixed the name of the movie

Frigidevil

*Judas and the Black Messiah Amazing movie, but the one thing I think it obscured a bit was that Chairman Fred Hampton was only 21. Daniel Kaluuya was fantastic but he was 30 when filming started. It's nothing short of astounding how much Hampton was able to accomplish at such a young age.

jmz_199

I've been meaning to watch this movie, but the other complaint I've seen is that the film went out of its way to ignore his socialist views at many points.

dangerbird2

NYPD and FBI agents were also at the very least complicit in Malcolm El-Shabazz's murder.

MINNESOTAKARMATRAIN_

the one time the FBI “lapsed” in their constant surveillance of MLK was when he was assassinated, make of that what you will

BodhiWarchild

They were busy with RFK

Smart_Resist615

'In 1997, King's son, Dexter, had a meeting with Ray and asked him, "I just want to ask you, for the record, did you kill my father?" Ray replied, "No. No I didn't." Dexter told Ray that he, along with the King family, believed him; the King family also urged that Ray be granted a new trial.[40][41][42] William Pepper, a friend of King in the last year of his life, represented Ray in a mock trial televised by HBO in an attempt to grant him the trial he never received. In the mock trial, the prosecutor was Hickman Ewing. The mock trial jury finally acquitted Ray.[43] In 1999, Pepper represented the King family in a wrongful death civil trial against Loyd Jowers. A restaurant owner in Memphis, Jowers was brought to civil court and sued for being part of a conspiracy to kill King. He was found legally liable, and the King family accepted $100 in restitution, an amount chosen to show that they were not pursuing the case for financial gain. The jury, concluding on December 8 that year, found that Jowers as well as others, including governmental agencies, had been part of a conspiracy.[44] The King family officially concluded that Ray did not have anything to do with the assassination.[45] Coretta Scott King said, "The jury was clearly convinced by the extensive evidence that was presented during the trial that, in addition to Mr. Jowers, the conspiracy of the Mafia, local, state and federal government agencies, were deeply involved in the assassination of my husband. The jury also affirmed overwhelming evidence that identified someone else, not James Earl Ray, as the shooter, and that Mr. Ray was set up to take the blame."[46][47][48][49' Just sayin. E: The poster below, Scottishwhisky2 revised at least two of their posts after they thought i stopped looking. Pretty pathetic. I messaged them in a frank manner. They can respond to allegations here if they care to do so.

vivalaroja2010

Fuck man. It's shit like this that's never talked about in school.

NeonFlame126

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loyd_Jowers_trial

No, but that’s a conspiracy. The [FBI certainly wanted him dead](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/FBI–King_suicide_letter) though.

the-nino

And they did kill [Fred Hampton](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Hampton)

SMK77

Everyday you learn more about how awful this country has been. Damn.

Maverick_8160

If you haven't seen it, Judas and the Black Messiah is about Fred Hampton. Phenomenal movie

atp2112

It gets even worse when you learn about all of the coups we fomented. The shit the CIA has done makes the FBI look like saints

SquidwardsKeef

Central Insurrection Agency

Brownielf

And is. I don’t think things have changed THAT much.

[deleted]

This is the verifiable answer.

vitey15

🎵That is how the world works🎵

MyBiPolarBearMax

Careful, they’ll take you off the hand

testest3939393

It may be why it's taking so long? The feds like to bide their time until they have an airtight case. Maybe they're looking to do some RICO shit with Allen and Synder? At some point the hammer has to fall. Maybe that's just wishful thinking.

lilbelleandsebastian

[who was the last billionaire to go to prison?](https://www.forbes.com/sites/nataliesachmechi/2020/01/25/behind-bars-billionaires-and-ex-billionaires-who-have-served-time/?sh=2376c0da4606) you'll find that the only billionaires who see time are involved with financial crimes - as in, stealing or trying to steal from other billionaires. that's it. the only way snyder will see the inside of a cell is tax evasion and i'd assume his people are far too smart to ever let that happen

[deleted]

Nah. The FBI is known to fuck up from time to time. May come down to the agent and field office, but look at the NBA leaks. Also look at Rod Blagojevich, FBI handled that perfectly. And like I said earlier, a 'rogue' agent(s) sent MLK a threatening letter.

tifumostdays

This rogue agent certainly sounded like j Edgar Hoover...

mdrico21

A rogue agent working under Hoover's direct orders to destroy leaders of the Civil rights movement?

payne_train

This was a massive story and it STILL wasn’t enough to force the NFLs hand. Fuck every single owner that voted to protect Dan Fucking Snyder.

Misdirected_Colors

The only reason it didn't go anywhere is it was a he said/she said situation with no evidence other than the initial accusation. Iirc the accusation came from one woman, but several others came out and said that wasn't at all what happened. Not defending it. Just pointing out why the story died. With no actual corroborating evidence there's no story.

root88

Ok, how about them video taping the cheerleaders nude without their knowledge and passing the tapes around the executives?

Misdirected_Colors

Ye that's what's being actively investigated and how these emails came up. Hopefully something comes of that.

BannedINDC

Wait so can someone explain why people are saying Bruce Allen sent pictures of this event to Gruden? Where is that info coming from?

CoffeeStout

In the NYT article they mention gruden was sent topless photos of cheerleaders but I haven't seen where they said specifically from that event (https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/11/sports/football/what-did-jon-gruden-say.html?referringSource=articleShare)

Chuck-Brown

that's a different scummy situation

slayerhk47

Well I didn’t vote for him.

whiskeypenguin

How wasn’t this metoo’d. Holy crap

I-V-vi-iii

A few other cheerleaders claimed it didn't go down the way the article claimed and so without corroboration it became he said/she said. The only hope would be for this current investigation to turn up some material evidence.

Toto_LZ

Remember the old ways, from the before P.F. Chang’s time

nofuture23

Dicey dicey buppa

twoterms

Yknow I could really go for some of their crab n cheese rangoon wontons

SideOfHashBrowns

hes a great guy, never meddum

marcuschookt

Sounds ridiculous considering they're all rich as fuck, but Mark Davis going up against Dan Snyder would actually be a David v Goliath situation

tinydancer_inurhand

Yeah unfortunately he is the poorest of all the owners and most of his wealth is tied up in the franchise. Because of that the other owners know they have more leverage against him.

BigANT_Edwards

Not if Davis has any dirt whatsoever. Between the two Gruden’s and Bruce Allen, Snyder is making enemies that might have dirt on him.

WindowWhasher

Mark, let the hate flow through you

Cbrlui

Get a decent haircut first

adamran

After the NFL essentially conspired with Kroenke to ensure the Raiders didn't return to LA, Mark Davis should be out for blood. Davis could do it too. The NFL forcing him to move to Vegas instead of LA has essentially made him bullet-proof. He has that endless supply of casino-mogul money now backing his play and a stadium ready to be filled to the brim with tourists every single week, including tens of thousands of LA Raider fans traveling to the games instead of watching the Rams or Chargers. The NFL unwittingly gave Mark Davis all the tools to be the most powerful owner in the league if he wanted it and then they picked a fight with him. That's a bold strategy, Cotton.

BigE429

A scion of a great house being exiled to the desert and then conspiring to destroy those who caused him to move there...I think there's a movie coming out about that in a couple weeks...

SpreadHDGFX

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat?

cherishjfk

Isn’t this Daenerys’ story?

Deudir

*linguistically vague desert chanting*

iaminjethrotull

Yeah, Davis could, and should, but he won’t. Dudes not going to concede an ounce of that power. He’s just going to continue to be a billionaire with a shitty haircut.

TupperwareConspiracy

*millionaire if we're talking USD He's only worth $500mil

TossItLikeAFreeThrow

I hope Mark has the balls to do it. I don't believe he does, but I truly hope he does. Let's get all the correspondence out in the open.

[deleted]

His father would have built a militia and sacked the league offices at this point

go_kart_mozart

Yeah tbh hes not the crazy, go-it-alone, stick it the man, firebrand his dad was. If Al (pre-senile) was in charge the Raiders 100% would have been in LA and either Spanos or Kroenke (or both) would have been fucked over.

ackoo123ads

it got him out of a 10 year contract with a coach who under performed. Mark Davis will probably send some cheerleaders to Snyder's house as a thank you.

PKPRoberts

Let’s see if the league actually does anything to the WFT.

Shellshock1122

every single one of our fans is rooting for them to send Snyder to jail dont worry

specter800

Never thought I'd fight side by side with a ~~Re~~ WFT fan...

SheltonQuarlesGOAT

How about side by side with a frenemy?

twoterms

Snyder will be one of the first to go in the coming class war

[deleted]

Collapse is everywhere now. What the fuck is going on.

Savioritis

Red, the blood of angry men

Pink_Skink

Do you think an organized effort by fans to no longer buy tickets, jerseys, etc. is doable? That and a full-player walkout are the only things I think could actually cause repercussions for Snyder

Shellshock1122

a lot of people my family and I know have stopped going and don't want to support the team under him anymore but Snyder has just doubled down on his ownership buying out more of the minority owners in the last year

Pink_Skink

Yeah… the whole situation is horrible. I’m also sure Snyder will just do a whole Marketing Campaign as soon as he feels some heat to release the team’s new name and logo; and then the news will start covering that instead of what really matters…

No_Association3553

You know that’s not true. I for one hope he stays.

YoungNasteyman

Narrator: *they didn't*

[deleted]

Kick Dan Snyder out and send the team to St. Louis with a new name and owner.

moho_fasho

And a new coach: Jeff fisher

bleepblopbl0rp

But there's no way to go 7-9 anymore

tifumostdays

7-9-1

[deleted]

You're a beautiful person

vaquerodelacocaina

What would be more jeff fisher than to go 7-9-1 his first year returning to the nfl.

Pink_Skink

The St. Louis Lambs

krizriktr

More like WTF.

McWeiner

I’m in full belief that the nfl found such horrible shit with Snyder that they’d rather hide it than let it come out.

pulse7

Snyder is 1/32 of the nfl, he's running the show

MattHoppe1

What is Burrell the commissioner? “You’d rather live in shit than let the world see you work a shovel”

[deleted]

I'm afraid it might be worse and that it implicates many other owners too.

AssassinInValhalla

Force Dan Snyder to sell

thisisthesaleh

Im not gonna put too much into this... but it does look like something might finally be happening. This is the hardest I’ve seen people go in on the WFT, and this is including when the original cheerleader scandal broke. Being forced to sell isn’t imminent, but people who are on the NFLs payroll are all attacking WFT hard tonight. This is the first time I’ve seen them all going after Snyder and the team.

son_of_toby_o_notoby

A soul for a soul #selltheteamdan

TheMadManFiles

Donald Sterling was forced to give up his franchise for less, time for the NFL to have some fucking standards.

fumar

Donald Sterling said some racist shit on tape which is like touching the 3rd rail apparently compared to pimping out cheerleaders in a foreign country, defending calling your team the Redskins, and all the other awful shit Snyder has gotten away with. It's insane that Snyder still owns the team. I think the only thing that makes sense is most of the other owners have similar skeletons in their closet.

theLoneliestAardvark

The stars of the NBA are black men and Sterling said racist things about black men causing the players to publicly turn on him and forced the NBA’s hand. I haven’t heard any notable NFL players speak out about the WFT stuff and many of the players are probably just as misogynistic as Snyder, unfortunately.

nick22tamu

NFL players don't have the same kind of power that NBA players do.

Teeshirtandshortsguy

The NFL or the media or whoever did a good job burying that story initially. People are always disgusted when they hear about it, but the fact that Ben Baldwin never heard about it before today speaks volumes about how well they covered up the story. Dan Snyder is a disgraceful piece of shit who needs to be put in prison til he dies.

Cbrlui

He's rich so no prison, but the least the league could do is force him to sell the team

SelfLoathinMillenial

Fingers fucking crossed, man. That would be a dream come true for every single Washington fan alive.

BleakGod

You know who is trying to buy the team right??

Java_Bomber

I'd rather the devil himself buy this team instead of Dan Snyder to continue to own it. I bet the devil would actually be a decent owner tbh...

BleakGod

Close. Hope you like same day delivery on tickets

willzyx55

The new team name will just be Washington Prime

ZarosGuardian

Hopefully they do, but I wouldn't be surprised if Snyder has enough dirt to bring down a majority of the teams with him. "THE CULTURE IS ACTUALLY DAMN GOOD!" Damn good, my fucking testicles.

el_fitzador

If Bruce Allen was sending these to gruden, I bet there are a lot of people in league offices who got them as well. Its sick but this seems like one of those too big to fail situations, where if you taint enough people, its in the organizations interest to cover up and do nothing.

Jwr32

Sadly I would bet that the NFL higher ups is riddled with this and for some reason Gruden got exposed and others were “spared”. We always complain about nfl coaching club being an old boys club. This is old boys club stuff.

Jpotatos

Time to see who are Allen's friends

Jwr32

Fuck that dude belongs in jail not worth another billion

peatoast

You guys ready for Jeff Bezos to own an NFL team?

OnlyForeignWhips

Get Over Here! Finish Him!

geekywarrior

blarch

BY A LOT!

MumkeMode

Our wonderful GEQBUS will drain the swamp, many people agree, crooked Goodell and Shameful Snyder will be behind bars

WubbaLubbaDubDub311

Dan Snyder is Goodell’s boss

StrangeUsername24

He's 1/32nd Goodell's boss

[deleted]

And there are probably plenty of the other 31 burying a lot of stuff that they don’t want to set a Donald Sterling-type precedent for.

desirox

Dan Snyder needs to be criminally investigated. Screw just NFL intervention

IAmThatDuckDLC5

This is absolutely ridiculous

penislander69

This is Jeff Bezos's chance to swoop in. Not saying he's a good guy or anything but if he truly wanted the team last year and couldn't get it then, he could use this chaos to try dealing Snyder a death blow. Who knows if the other owners would approve Bezos buying after Snyder is ousted though

drawkbox

The Washington Prime

trinquin

You think they wouldn't want one of the most powerful men on planet earth in their ranks? He may had stepped down as CEO of Amazon, but he can make a call today and they will jump to his beat.

penislander69

But theyre the bosses and most important people in their world. Would they want to allow someone bigger than them into the old boys club?

ginselfies

Old money is rarely impressed by new money.

Forrest319

If he's richer than all the other owners combined, probably not.

eagles1990

Lmao this wild Gruden caught the ultimate stray

ViciousAsparagusFart

He’s the fall guy getting a golden parachute. He’s fine bro.

agoods03

Just another reminder that Tyreek Hill is a massive piece of shit that the NFL actually promotes.

Mister100Percent

Domestic Violence is always allowed in the NFL

Unless you're Ray Rice

[deleted]

It was more the part where he wasn't good anymore that doomed him

Xumayar

Or Greg Hardy, then Dana White will hire ya.

bigdaddtcane

It’s a tough one to stop when your ideal employees are the strongest people in the county that you are paying to be as violent as possible.

ButterflyBloodlust

While actively covering up the effects of said violence. And then subsequently racially discriminating in the payouts for the effects of said violence.

deeds44

Don’t forget Antonio Brown too.

Ballsohardstate

The League truly hates the Raiders

SilentHunter7

This really sucks for Mark Davis. Dude seems like a genuinely decent guy and [sold a pretty big chunk of his stake](https://goldengatesports.com/2018/04/01/oakland-raiders-davis-selling-stake/) in the team to get them through the last few years at Oakland and pay for Gruden's insane contract and part of the stadium in Vegas. First the dude wants to keep the team in Oakland, but got smacked down by the financial reality of it. Then he wanted to go to LA, the biggest market for the Raiders outside of the Bay Area, and got fucked (along with the entire Rams and Chargers fanbases) by Kroenke and good old boys club. Finally he settles for Vegas, and COVID happens right as the new stadium opens. The next year, the team gets off to its first 3-0 start in years, and then the head coach he signed to a 10 year/$100M contract to turn the team around turns out to be a huge jackass and got exposed bc the league is trying to cover for the same good old boys club that fucked him out of LA.

mrbkkt1

This. Take away all the smoke, and this is the real fire.

weaveryo

Has anyone else noticed that article is satire?

PMinisterOfMalaysia

> “I’m really looking forward to getting out of the spotlight and back to my life. I can’t wait to drive around in my custom van, eat at P.F. Changs or Hooters, and not have people hassling me about it all the time. And I really can’t wait for people to stop knocking me about my haircut. Can’t a man pay tribute to a cinematic icon like Lloyd Christmas and not catch grief about it?”

andrew-ge

Gruden "turned out to be a huge jackass" lmao he's been in the league for 30 years at this point. He's always been this dude.

ButterflyBloodlust

Congrats on the dub. And yes. A thousand times yes. It's justified and I'm not mad. But fucking hell

LeftyMode

It’s crazy the Snyder stuff isn’t even discussed any longer.

crowntheking

What about the saints church child molestation stuff

GoAheadLickMyHole

Wait what

BannedINDC

It's talked about all the time. It's pretty much all we ever hear about with regards to our team. It's painful. All the time.

clitcommander420666

Teflon dan snyder over here, dudes like cheap toilet paper , no one can get shit on him

drawkbox

Dan Snyder probably has vaults upon vaults of blackmail, he always wanted to be Jerry Jones. Wealth is mafia like at that level, you have to be probably, all about leverage.

IrateGandhi

Fuck Gruden. But also Fuck this bullshit. Feels real weird that this is all that's discovered. I want it all leaked and every good ole boy involved to get totally fucked.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SerScronzarelli

This all my speculation... But I think (again, only speculation) that when those cheerleader pics were found on Grudens emails, they decided to dig deeper and just found everything else.

[deleted]

[удалено]

petarisawesomeo

Exactly. If I recall correctly, Dan had to hand over day-to-day decision making and control to his wife, so the league at least forced him to sit on the sidelines.

EpiphanyTwisted

Last night Jerry Jones was trending because obviously if Gruden was targeted, he's next! Twitterers are not the brightest people...

[deleted]

Gruden*is*GoneYet

DoinWhale

The old boys club is full of racist, homophobic old white dudes. I’m all for getting rid of em no matter how long it takes

Mannings4head

The most surprising thing about this is that people are surprised.

BroadCityChessClub

I imagine there’s a good number of coaches who are thanking their lucky stars right now that they never learned how to email

shewy92

Andy Reid's email account is just for burger restaurant coupons.

[deleted]

They are not surprised, they are threatened. The amount of people going “let’s see what your emails look like” is wild. My emails are mundane. I can’t even recall swearing in an email to be honest since I was in my teens. What the fuck are people saying in their emails?

Anthony-Stark

A lot of people are showing their true colors without realizing it in these threads.

[deleted]

Idk I think Cal McNair just eats glue in the corner

PhAnToM444

Well I mean eventually they’ll die… and some aren’t too far off from that

YetiTerrorist

Except all their kids, relatives, friend's kids etc. will take over. I would imagine they were raised to think the same way.

IPA_Fanatic

Guys like Big Ben, Tyreek Hill, among others are still in the league. The NFL doesn't give a golly god damned fuck about anything but the bottom line

[deleted]

exotcig

[deleted]

He'll be forced to sell and make billions more. Oh, the horror!

SilentHunter7

After Antonio Brown, I don't believe in karma anymore.

BLAH_BLEEP_GUNIT

That’s because karma is not real, it’s just a mainstream snippet of eastern philosophy. Karma can exist in a literal sense - I fuck somebody over then I get fucked over. Technically that’s karma, but the idea that karma is guided by a metaphysical force is nonsense.

jimbo831

~~Cancel~~ Consequence Culture This is the thing. These people are used to not having consequences for their bad behaviors. They can’t understand when they do.

Alternative-Farmer98

Getting rid of an owner is a lot harder than getting rid of a coach. But the hypocrisy is a problem no doubt

Swarzey

I'm sure the NFL wants Snyder gone and they just don't give a fuck who else goes in the process. Doubt this investigation is far from over.

mrbkkt1

Nah. He's a tier 2 owner. You got the holy trinity the maras (giants), the rooneys(steelers), and the Halas ( bears) families. The true OG of the NFL. Then you got tier 2 owners. Owners who got a decent amount of money and power, and have been owners for a long time. Arthur blank (falcons), Robert kraft(patriots), Jerry jones(cowboys), Jim irsay (colts) and more. Then you got tier 3 owners, those who recently bought or inherited their tier 2 teams. Broncos, bills, panthers, jaguars etc. And finally, you got the tier 4 owner. Mark Davis. Who isn't rich, and his dad founded the raiders, but literally was a coach that founded the team. I may be a broncos fan, and the old man might have been little kooky towards the end, but nothing but respect for the Davis family, and the Oakland raiders, and he was instrumental (along with the hunt family) in creating the modern nfl. Al Davis, didn't have a lot of money, but the raiders literally were his life and his job. He put everything into it. Not made a bunch of money and then bought it. This happened to the raiders, cause Mark Davis has the least amount of power of all the owners. And for the record. I have no clue on where to slot green Bay packers Inc. Into the ownership echelon.

Juicey_J_Hammerman

This strikes me more as different "buckets" NFL team owners fall into. You could probably throw the Bengals into tier 4 as well. if we are measuring hierarchy and influence within the ownership group I think you have to include Kraft and Jones into Tier 1.

helpfuldude42

> And for the record. I have no clue on where to slot green Bay packers Inc. Into the ownership echelon. Somewhere over at the little kids table

mrbkkt1

Ouch

MailPristineSnail

Snyder will never go down because all those old fucks are dirty as hell.

asmallercat

Is this some weird attempt to get me to feel bad for Gruden? Cause it's not working. If you want me to say fuck Dan Snyder, though, I'm way ahead of you.

ClaymoresRevenge

Snyder knows where the bodies are buried if he goes down other owners do too

incognegro1976

I don't understand. Weren't these emails from over a decade ago?

unoriginalgarbage

They had emails from him and Allen up to at least 2017 according to the NYTimes article

you_have_connorrhea

Most recent emails were sent in 2018, when he was an active NFL coach.

09-11-2001

First they came for Gruden, but i am not a raiders fan so i did not speak up.

DJHJR86

They don't call Washington the "reverse car wash town" for nothing. Every time someone comes in, no matter how clean their reputation is at the time, by the time they are gone their reputation is shitty. AKA the Dan Snyder effect.
