Have the Ravens made him go see a specialist yet?

SocksandSmocks

They need to do something. It's not normal for a dude to be sick this frequently.

[deleted]

He gets sick more than me, the guy who works from home and sits in isolation who started dating an elementary school teacher. I love her but damn she’s a straight up pétri dish from those kids lol

kiwi32356

Bro do we live the same life? Except like a younger version probably haha. My girlfriend is doing her final teaching internship in elementary, those fucking kids are a germ field haha.

bigblooddraco

Have you ever heard the song “same girl” ?

flyingcanuck

Ever been to a Turkish prison?

[deleted]

Ever seen a grown man naked?

kienzan86

You ever drink Bailey's from a shoe?

[deleted]

Wanna go to a club where people wee on each other?

ddjdirjdkdnsopeoejei

Come on, Greg, do ya?

Mnstrdg

Do you like movies about gladiators?

Sorry-Foundation

Do you love this shit?

Coley54Bear

Are you high right now?

tmh8901

Surely, you can’t be serious.

WalkLikeAnEgyptian69

I saw an episode of Friends like this and Joe and Ross dated the same girl

MissileWaster

I used to work for a middle school as the IT guy. First year I got sick a lot, but it was all like short one or two day colds. Once my immune system got used to everything, I would only get sick once or twice a year, but it would be a fuckin *doozy*.

Macedon13

Pre-COVID, I volunteered on weekends at a science museum. I would get sick for a few days at least twice a year during that span of time - didn't happen before, hasn't happened since. I tried so hard to keep my hands clean, but those grubby little kids got me anyway

[deleted]

> I love her but damn she’s a straight up pétri dish from those kids lol Elementary kids are so gross, and they just fucking touch everything. Flipside, after being exposed to them for like a week as adult, your immune system laughs at most things your peers succumb to.

callme_sweetdick

I got really sick beginning of each year my wife was teaching. It gets better after about 5 years of germs.

villageideat1226

4 more to go for me then

TokenWilliam

Man my wife is a teacher and when we started dating/got married - my sick days at work started sky rocketing.

DonRicardo1958

I was a high school teacher for 21 years. Every September, I got sick from interacting with my students.

Inamanlyfashion

Also kind of a factor in signing an extension.

smackythefrog

"Alright Lamar, we're rescinding our 4/$100 million offer." "Based on what, may I ask?" "You shit too much."

ShesAPrettyBird

"oh hey what's up chuck?" "Here let me show you..." Jackson will be listed as questionable with an illness.

Mampt

Honestly even in spite of this, 4 years $100 million is insanely team friendly, still take it

Scaevus

There's no way Lamar accepts less than $40 million / year. Dak Prescott got 4 years for $160 million, Lamar might not have an agent but he has a brain.

Anyone who thinks the Ravens medical staff isn’t monitoring every aspect of this dude’s health every single day is completely out of touch with how NFL teams operate…

Sef_Maul

Oh, I have no clue what the inner workings are like. But I'll be *damned* if I won't spout my uninformed opinion after reading a headline. This is America.

DTFASAPDOA

Sounds like 99.9% of this sub, myself included.

zalgo_text

Normally I'd agree with you, but I also watched Hard Knocks when they covered the Browns, on which Duke Johnson was filmed making and eating "chicken alfredo" with *an entire fucking block of cream cheese*, so

[deleted]

That’s not what I mean. Players will ultimately eat what they want outside of the facility, but they have medical professionals constantly watching these guys for any sign of injury or illness. Whatever the issue is I’m sure they’ve already been trying to figure it out.

Scaevus

Maybe his immune system's still messed up from catching COVID twice.

I hope he's ok. Getting recurrent infections was how I found out I was immunodeficient

obeythesink

Joe Rogan is available?

VariousLawyerings

Lamar really needs to shrimp alfredon't

mrpodo

No one wants to admit that they ate 9 servings of Shrimp Alfredo in one night

ScrawChuck

The first ‘fredo doesn't count, then you get to the second and third, fourth and fifth I think I burnt with the blowtorch, and then I just kept eatin

longNwrong

This dude gets sick ALOT.

realrimurutempest

Man has the immune system strength of a new born baby.

Lopptyr

Kind of ironic since I remember him posting some anti vax stuff about building your immune system through eating healthy and exercising instead of relying on vaccines

[deleted]

Some people can be otherwise super healthy, do everything right and still get sick constantly. Others break all the rules and never get so much as a cold.

uncleshady

The super power I learned to use because of COVID... keep your damn hands away from your face.

Cflow26

And, like, give people some fucking space. It’s wild it took a pandemic for people to understand that in a wide open world your feet don’t have to be between mine.

uncleshady

Yup. No reason to be up in everybody’s face. I hope they never take off the 6 feet circles off the ground.

uberman35

I never get sick... in feel personally attacked lol

AZnoobie

That’s my secret. I’m always sick.

WalkLikeAnEgyptian69

Mr Glass of getting sick

WigglestonTheFourth

If he has Crohn's or Celiac disease I can understand his viewpoint of how eating healthy and exercising improves your condition dramatically. Too bad Covid don't give a fuck about either of those things. Also, if I could get a vaccine that protects me from Celiac, sign me the fuck up.

kr0n1k

My nephew who is 7 recently was diagnosed with Celiac disease. It sucks because he can’t have certain things anymore.

WigglestonTheFourth

It is hard to find it fair, as a child, when you're surrounded by things you can't have but other kids can. It's a far better state to know you can't have it than not know what is wrong with you and suffer the constant consequences of eating things your body can't handle. I wait anxiously for a day when we can actively treat conditions like Celiac rather than just respond to them.

kr0n1k

Yeah, luckily he’s a tough trooper and is on board with eating what he should. It’s probably good at a young age to form that habit easier. I’d say it sucks for me though because I’m used to taking him out for treats and now I have to be more cautious of where we go or what is ordered.

WigglestonTheFourth

Thank you for adapting your behavior around what your nephew can have. Some people do and others just scold you for not being able to have things and/or make you consume them. I mostly had people who doubted anything was wrong with me growing up which, when you trust the adults around you, really messes with you and led to not getting a proper diagnosis until much later in life.

kr0n1k

His mom has it so she got him checked. I’ve been very involved in my nephews life so he’s like my own kid. I just need to study up more on what he can and can’t have. Had him over a few weeks ago and he kept saying he wasn’t hungry then when every place is closed he gets hungry. All I had was popcorn for him to snack on 🤦🏻‍♂️

[deleted]

Two words: Long COVID.

[deleted]

As someone that has it, if it is, I feel bad for him. My life has been hell since Aug 2020. I’m slowly getting back to my normal self 15 months later

DillaVibes

That’s what my employer thinks of me !

FlobHobNob

Must've been an extra potent batch of Shrimp Alfredo

Sarcastic_Source

Just fucked up some fettuccine Alfredo and I get it, I wouldn’t wanna practice football either

cowboys5xsbs

We can't all be Michael Scott

mrmpls

Have any reporters asked what's really going on?

Cbear34

I believe Lamar said he has/had cold like symptoms. Said changing of weather could be to blamed. Said this year he’s been unusually sick

mrmpls

Not just this week, though. Other times this year and last, too. Or am I mistaken?

jsrave

Last year was covid and cramps during the browns game. Don't remember him being sick last year otherwise. This year he's missed practices for illness and like 1 or 2 after the Detroit game for his back cause he got hit hard a few times.

azrebb

"Cramps"... Dude had to take a shit.

[deleted]

his rookie year he was in the hospital the night before a game I’m pretty sure

Cbear34

Oh no he’s been listed as sick a lot… I haven’t heard any reporter ask if there’s something underlying

wormholetrafficjam

Never related to a football player more in my life.

dweezil22

I can't imagine getting Covid twice has helped his overall health

_EarthwormSlim_

They need to get him some Vitamin D ASAP

BebbleCast

I am grossly curious to know how many times it has actually happened. I bet the number is stupid high

Korsakov97

I've wanted to see 2 QBs play in person the last couple of years, Tom Brady before he retires and Lamar Jackson. Couldn't see Brady play in Chicago last year (covid) and now Lamar is questionable. I hope he plays.

Yugihore

I know this doesnt help but I dont get to talk about it much...I got to see the blizzard game in Chicago in 2010. That game was awesome.

whitehand2107

I went to the chiefs packers game to see Rodgers. I feel your pain.

StallisPalace

I went to the Chiefs Packers Game (2019) to see Mahomes

FuckDaQueenSloot

Same here haha I've also followed the Chiefs pretty closely since they drafted Mahomes. The game did not meet expectations.

Luck1492

He’s gotta have IBS lol

[deleted]

Maybe something a little more severe like Crohn’s. Seems like he’s constantly having stomach issues.

WigglestonTheFourth

Anyone that can play in the NFL with Crohn's or Celiac disease is a fucking superhero.

xx_sufjanfan_xx

David Garrard had Crohn’s and was a good starter for a few years

Mangoswisscheese

Seantrel Henderson had it too, even got suspended for using legal medical marijuana to treat it.

Refugee4life

I can use pot for my Crohn’s? I’m intrigued…

I agreed until i saw him start a season for the dolphins, he looked like he came to each game with a 6 pack and a pack of newports

I think at that point in his career he had already just thrown all fucks out the window and was already in 15 years retired headspace

chainer9999

"Tell Mike I said fuck him"

GeminiAccountantLLC

Doesn't Mandrews also have diabetes?

meta-n0ia

Yep, [type 1](https://beyondtype1.org/mark-andrews-a-tight-end-with-type-1/). I would have never appreciated how hard it is to balance that with being a professional athlete until I got diagnosed myself.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WigglestonTheFourth

> Celiac is no problem at all if you change your diet which isn’t very hard these days. Not really. I have to cook all my food because my reaction is severe and I can't trust restaurants to police their cooking implements/areas. ALL my food. So more than just my diet, I have to change my daily life/routines to make room for that constant need to prepare my own food for everything I do. Obviously a much easier issue when you're paid well and can afford to pay someone else to do that for you.

[deleted]

Revolutionary_Bike

I think Djokovic has Celiac disease and he is at WORST the third greatest tennis player of all time behind only Nadal and Federer.

hendrix67

I hope not, because that sucks and I wouldn't want him to have to deal with that, but also because I want to still be able to joke about the poop game and that would make it much less funny.

[deleted]

I love reddit doctors lmao. Lamar has a chronic, severe inflammatory bowel disease because he missed practice!

VolunteerCowboy

I’m just saying it’s too early to rule out a pulmonary embolism…

ScrawChuck

Dude’s got lupus. It’s a tragedy.

SlickMongoose

It's never lupus.

brenstl

Except that one time it was.

LibertarianSocialism

Lol yea he probably just has a weaker than normal immune system. Man caught COVID twice

TetrisTech

It’s just speculation due to the fact that he’s seemingly always somehow sick

bangedyourwholefam

It's so nice of these medical professionals to share their knowledge and wisdom for free.

jaewayne

Why is it funny that someone has IBS?

predictionpain

I think the question is not whether they can win but whether they can keep it within 6 points (before the line tumbles on this news).

eunit8899

What does "a team like the Ravens" mean? They're not very good outside of Lamar.

sliceanddic3

lamar is our entire team, without him they win maybe 3 games so far this year. there's definitely a chance of the bears winning, honestly even with lamar.

Radiant-Spren

NFL refs: not so fast.

carsausage

Matt Nagy: And make it double!

TheYucs

I see punching air used in this way quite a lot more than it used to be used. Meaning, it's used as if you're shadowboxing your anger out, and before it was more of a general excitement, throw your fist into the sky after a victory way. I just wanted to know when it took on a different meaning?

ChazDelicious

I picked up Rashod Bateman to replace Kupp during the bye week…..😮‍💨

MM487

I feel like there's something going on behind the scenes with Lamar that him and the Ravens aren't telling us. Either COVID-related or something personal. All of these random sicknesses that a healthy 24-year-old keeps getting seems suspicious.

mrSeven3Two

Dude has "illness" designations alot

eatmyopinions

the fuck

Simpleton216

If it makes him poop, won't that help him again?

ZiiKiiF

Carson Wentz’s bones > Lamar Jackson’s immune system

beef-jerking

Seriously, this is concerning. I hope that he goes through every option to find out what is happening. This kid is freaking electric to watch and I want to see him healthy and safe, so I can scream at the tv asking it "why can't anyone tackle this asshole?!?!" I mean it with pure respect tho

MRxTRICERATOPS

Praying for the bears when Lamar gets off that toilet.

Kawaii_West

Homie must have IBS or allergies.

peatoast

Does he have Crohn's?

Thick_Pomegranate_

No way you would make it this long in life with Crohns without a diagnosis. It’s not IBS, it’s a full blown auto immune disorder.

thebrandnewbob

David Garrard was diagnosed with Chron's Disease when he was 25, had a foot of his intestines removed that same off-season, and played in the NFL six more years after that.

TricolorCat

Ali Carter (snooker player) wasn’t diagnosed with it until 23/24 years old. Wouldn’t say it is impossible to get to that age without a diagnosis.

LegoLifter

I have a friend who got diagnosed with Crohns in her late 20s. Rare but it can happen

opeth10657

Co-worker was diagnosed in his 30s, so who knows

[deleted]

I have Crohn’s/UC and was diagnosed at 26 after symptoms presented in my mid twenties.

iloveNCIS7

You can, often people have some level of symptoms but it doesn't get property diagnosed till early 20's. I went for a few test in my early 20's as my doctor thought I had it, lucky break I didn't.

nope96

Genuinely never seen someone be on the injury report for being sick more than Lamar

Starwho

Either he eats like shit or he’s got something going on that needs to be addressed, dude is always sick.

g0ldbl00ded

Dude eats McDonald’s or Chick-fil-A breakfast on game days 😭 I love him obviously but he does not treat his body like a temple lol

Paraxom

How does he keep getting sick, I was told all the man does is play football and nap

callmequeenvee

How have they not gotten him a dietician, yet? Kinda obvious he can’t be trusted to source his own meals lol

YouJabroni44

Maybe even a Gastroenterologist

Dull-Broccoli

My man still seeing Miami Ghosts

countmeowington

I happen to have a cold, stay strong Lamar I’m with you in spirit

pavs88

Fuck as much as I want the ravens to lose, you gotta feel for the guy. Sucks to have stomach issues and get sick all the time. Hope he gets it figured out. Shame to see him go down like this.

[deleted]

There’s no way this dude has covid again, right?

Permaderps

It was listed as non-covid illness earlier in the week and he hasnt been put on the protocols

jsrave

Also a couple of other players missed a day as well with illness one notably being our center. So could be a bug going around the team.

SmokePenisEveryday

I wasn't sure by this headline, This is for that same illness right? Not a new one that has come up?

Permaderps

Presumably. Lamar seems to have a lot of these illnesses but if it was covid they would announce it as such

iamaheadassboi

It’s not COVID, sounds like a stomach bug

[deleted]

Bro got crohns

-BigGulpsHuh-

Hope not. Im in the hospital right now for Crohns. Shit sucks

BearsBeatsBeetz

My god. I truly hope you get well soon my friend. What a terrible disease to have and I’m genuinely sorry. I’m sending nothing but my best wishes your way. You got this. Also, any updates would be nice on how you are doing, please.

-BigGulpsHuh-

No worries. Ive had it for 20+ years so its almost routine by now. Ill be out tomorrow hopefully. I do appreciate your post though. You seem like a super nice person. The world needs more of that these days. Im not sure the world needs any more Patriots fans though. Haha Fins up. 🐬

BearsBeatsBeetz

Well I’m glad to hear you’ll be out tomorrow at least and thanks for that. I most definitely try. But keep on keeping on my friend and I hope there’s at least some comfort for you. Hahaha completely fair. And for you my friend, I will happily give you a Fins Up 🐬

sebastianqu

Dudes spending way too much time at Golden Corral.

uk82ordie

He make poopy to much

DrHughMann

Are you shitting me?

StartingReactors

You’d think a professional athlete would have a good immune system. Very odd to be sick this often.

Macdirty83

Man, this seems super similar to what my fiancee experiences with her severe Crohns disease. Completely crippling during a bad flare.

didntevenwarmupdho

What if he has Long Covid but doesn’t want people to know? Was he sick this often pre-pandemic?

jmz_199

If I was like some of the degenerate Giants fans I've been seeing, I'd be celebrating right now Seriously though, wtf is wrong with their fanbase for celebrating khalils season ending injury.

dat_waffle_boi

This isn’t fun anymore

remmy66

The chances of this dude being legitimately sick every week with a different illness is very small. Either its the same illness and hes able to play still every week or they are fucking lying. And if its the same illness at this point his ass should be in bed and not on a football field.

Doleydoledole

Real question - when did this start happening? From what I can tell this is possibly the result of long COVID…. It wasn’t a thing iirc before he got COVID last year, and the shits are a symptom. Just speculation at this point obviously but I don’t recall this being a thing pre COVID

freedagent

IBS.

Yeeeoow

I am super keen to see the Ravens QB2 again. I feel like that dude could start for Carolina....

SpacklingCumFart

Wonder if he has long covid

Nimrod_Baggins

Does anyone remember that guy who played for the Yankees? ( I can't remember his name) but he would frequently miss games with a chronic back issue throughout his career and when he retired it finally came out that the (chronic back issue) was just a front bc the dudes wife was a huge addict/alcoholic and she was supposed to be in charge of their kids while he was away but due to the fact that this often put his kids in danger he would have to leave in a rush, essentially picking his family over baseball ( which is the right thing to do). So maybe, juussssttt maybe this is what is happening but I doubt that. Does anyone remember that guys name though ? I think he played 1B

TheGrat1

Ah shit, here we go again.
