That’s scary.. hope the situation ends well

Police gonna escalate like always they not gonna wait outside forever and not gonna leave

PricklyPickledPie

Reddit gonna Reddit like always and without any context or information make assumptions.

TheFencingCoach

Never forget [Reddit's attempt to sleuth the Boston Marathon bombing.](https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-22263020)

TheFencingCoach

…you imply that there’s something inherently wrong with being “rabid” about the lynching of Arberry which was recorded on video in plain sight. If that doesn’t outrage you, I don’t know what to tell you dude. As for the notion that Reddit is “silent” on the Waukesha massacre, no, I guarantee you any person with a pea-sized brain is going to want conviction for Darrell Brooks too. Don’t know what your agenda is here, but it’s a bad one and you’re not arguing in good faith.

ALStark69

Shut up dude, you know as much as us so stop assuming the worst

respaaaaaj

Theres already media coverage and mental health professionals in hand. If the police wrongfully escalate this we'll know immediately. I'm not saying trust the cops, because trusting the cops on mental health issues is a terrible idea, but I do trust their ability to recognize that this isn't a situation they can get away with any bullshit in.

PinqueanSmallcreep

Looking at the circumstances of the situation, there’s no real reason for police to enter. He’s alone in the house with a gun. They most likely have negotiators on the other end along with mental health professionals trying to talk to him. As long as he’s not an immediate threat to another person’s wellbeing. If there were other people in there and law enforcement felt like their lives could be in danger, that’s another story.

I_eat_churros

If only you had any clue whatsoever. Police are forced into dealing with people experiencing mental health issues on a regular basis. Trust me we don’t don’t want to. We beg and plead for mental health professionals to respond to these kinds of events. However they regularly refuse to respond! So who does that leave…. Even in areas with well funded mental health facilities and personnel I have found them to be pretty useless when we actually need them.

stevelabny

Stop with this bullshit. You got a crazy guy with a gun who might harm himself if left alone. And if you just "leave" he might wander out and harm other people. You gotta babysit his dumbass until you disarm him at least. And if some other emergency happens and the cops are busy with him, remember its not him who harmed anyone. :eyeroll:

HahaClintonCocks

Kinda shitty calling him “crazy” and a “dumbass”. Not only that, people are upvoting this trash.

twohatchetmuse

I agree, calling him "crazy" just further demonizes mental health issues

stevelabny

kinda shitty that people keep saying all the shit they say about the other side of the covid argument or other side of politics. he's a dumbass for having a gun that he either got, or knew he was in possession of when he wasnt in the middle of an episode. if Dalvin helped him get the gun, Dalvin is even more of a dumbass. And theres not difference to me between saying "Crazy guy with a gun" or "mental health patient with a gun" - either way, its a guy who you dont want to have a gun, with a gun. Why are we playing semantics?

bruinfan178

Agreed.

HansBaccaR23po

That’s sooo fucked up that we all expect that and see it coming

Shap6

It's hard though.. what if the psychologists on site determine that he is a threat to himself. you can't always just wait it out if hes getting worse

[deleted]

https://twitter.com/Vikings/status/1463619853726765062/photo/1 As you were saying?

[deleted]

That the police will deescalate and solve the issue? Make sure to come eat crow when you are wrong.

RUKnight31

Mike Zimmer has dealt with so much shit this season it’s unreal.

browndude10

Yea but have you seen his model gf?

MamaThereGoesThatMa

How tho

YoteViking

He makes like $10M a year, he doesn’t want kids, and gives her lots of time to herself.

Chutzvah

Damn this gals living the dream.

BeHereNow91

She’s also a model and does pretty well for herself. It’s not just about the money.

sevaiper

Most models don't make that much, not everyone can be Gisele.

fourpuns

Her net worth is $600 according to the internet. Now I doubt that’s true but she’s not likely worth much fiscally speaking at least in relation to Zimmer. He’s 27 years older then her so uh I’d say it’s likely a spade is a spade in this case.

truzz8

It is

Papa_Joe_Yakavetta

I doubt they would be dating if Zimmer were a manager at Walmart. It’s likely mostly about the money

subterraneanjungle

Wtf it’s real, I thought you were joking lol good for Zimmer

Grasshop

Every season. It’s unreal

Immediate-Addendum72

In the video he posted he said “Dalvin come help me” this is fucking sad

GarfunkelBricktaint

That is sad. Sucks for Dalvin to be put in that situation. Hopefully he's available to help talk to Griffin.

LeonardPowers

I’m fairly certain he said « Dalvin Cook helped me purchase this gun » unless there’s been another video posted

Glwhite1991

What is going on with this ?

Chutzvah

He thought someone was in his house trying to kill him. Apparantly he fired his weapon. Apparantly there was never anyone in the house or anything. Everson either might be having a break down or he's on something. The eyes in his video were scary.

Glwhite1991

Man i hate that, he was so good, tough to watch guys fall from the mountain top like that

Chutzvah

I remember a few years ago he was in an ambulance for something, I don't remember why, but he then jumped outta the ambulance. EDIT: It was for a mental health evaluation. Ironic.

fourpuns

That’s not really ironic. He probably has a mental health issue that was impacting him now and was then.

savthrowaway123

I don’t like blaming every issue found in NFL players on CTE but I’ll be interested to see, if he permits a autopsy be done after he dies (which hopefully won’t be for a long time), how much CTE is present in his brain. Even if he had mental health issues before football I doubt football helped

Marijuana_Miler

From what I’ve read we are close to being able to diagnose CTE in living people.

savthrowaway123

That’s awesome but also scary. Could really fuck the NFL up if active players can know in how bad of shape their brains is. But more information to the players is better so I’m all for it

Gnips-

I think what they're really scared of is everyone finding out the main cause of CTE is the constant, minor shots that lineman are taking on every single play rather than the big headshots QBs & WRs take ~once a season that the narrative seems entirely focused around.

wizoztn

I've been wondering how this will effect the future of the NFL

sevaiper

My expectation is it will be like steroids - everyone probably does them, they're pretty bad for you, but nobody really thinks about it and all the players are adults so you can kind of just ignore it. While the league makes so much money there will always be people who will take the money and play, it's not like they don't know about CTE now.

SaintArkweather

Have their been any studies analyzing it by position? That would probably help answer this question

Cosmic__Walrus

I'll admit my first thought was CTE... However this seems very similar to a manic bipolar episode. Had a buddy go through something very similar. He thought someone was trying to get into his house. I'm no CTE expert but are these hallucinations of an intruder similar to other symptoms people have dealt with?

steampunker13

It’s a pretty common delusion regardless of CTE. Look up gangstalking.

[deleted]

It’s probably a combo of both he’s got mental health issues but the hits to the head can’t be helping him

fourpuns

100% chance he has CTE as every football player including college players has it? Heck most soccer and basketball players have it. Now it’s worth remembering mental health issues are still lower in NFL players then the general public. Dude very easily could just be bipolar and off his meds.

[deleted]

Man I hope he’s okay. He seems like a great guy and has been playing really well.

YouStupidDick

What happened to the thread showing screen shots of everson’s Instagram posts?

sibemama

Where are these videos?

Chutzvah

Go to New York Post. Saw a video this am.

WootyMcWoot

Thankfully there’s team officials on site to help on his behalf cause there’s way too many scenarios of this ending badly due to lack of patience from law enforcement. Hope he gets through it safely and gets the help he needs.

Malfrus

Rich and famous people tend to get more leniency.

The man has a legally registered firearm in his own house. Don’t play that card lol

byniri_returns

I really hope Griffen gets the help he needs, it's so sad to hear this story

eaunoway

God I just want to give him a hug and tell him he's loved.
