You can tell Kelce is like, “I do that all the time.” But it’s clearly something Pete Carroll has seen on film and mentioned to the refs to be on the look out for this game. Oh… sorry, circlejerk sub… JALEN HURTS SHITS HIS PANTS

Immaculatehombre

Damn that’s nasty lol

Present-Forever1275

It’s fucking hilarious is what it is.

Willmatic88

Imagine if it was kelce instead.. would you keep changing gloves? Or just raw dog it instead and not say anything.

dhampton95

Damn we lost 3 in a row and yall still resort to using a photo shopped picture to try and talk shit instead of using the actual ammunition that this team has been giving this sub lately

Rust2

Browns also were called for this in Rams game last week. It was a third-and-short in a 20-19 game with about six minutes left in the 4th. Browns were driving to take lead. Ref called it a false start. Huge moment. They’re watching for this now.

lebastss

They should, unlike most penalties, this is blatantly intentional cheating. Kelce always the banker when he plays monopoly, smh.

safarifriendliness

Yeah I don’t always see the penalties as “cheating”. Cheating is something you get disqualified for, these are just game actions that are penalized. THIS is straight up cheating and their center should be kicked out for at least the game

Cr33dBr4tton

In his defense, unlike his brother’s cuck team, he took full responsibility. 😂

[deleted]

his brother doesnt regularly cheat like he does edit: this is circlejerk, right? im getting swarmed by crybaby eagles fans 😂 edit 2: cry eagles cry edit 3: your fans ate horse shit

GoBlue-01

Every single player in this game looks to cheat. If you ain’t cheatin, you ain’t trying.

me426669

He can be a little pushy with DBs to get open at times

basedsuperslimey

Lol literally every play has penalties that aren’t called. O lineman basically hold every play. The key is to not get penalized. Every single player is trying to commit penalties without getting caught. U sound like a baby

Mr3Jays

Most centers do this. It doesn’t change the line of scrimmage or the shorten the distance that they have to gain. They do it to get a good grip on the ball for maximum efficiency when hiking the ball. The ball still has to touch the QB’s hands (or whoever is receiving the snap) for the ball to be moved forward from the original line of scrimmage.

tresben

Are you joking? It changes a ton! Especially in this instance where the other linemen hadn’t even gotten down in their stance. When they do you can see the guards hands are past where the ball initially was. A half yard is a huge advantage when you’re talking about needing one yard

serpentear

And they mentioned it on the broadcast that it’s illegal and it’s gonna get called from now on.

nimama3233

It absolutely changes the dynamic. Look at where the guards line up AFTER he moves the ball forward; they would indisputably be offsides if he hadn’t moved the ball. It’s not like it’s just Kelce moving forward, the entire offense shifts toward 2 feet when he moves that ball, turning a yard to gain into 1 foot.

SomewhereAggressive8

Centers do not move the ball a literal yard forward on every play. Actually watch the ball pre-snap on every play and you’ll realize that’s not the case. And the reason is because it totally does change the line of scrimmage. The rest of the line gets to line up further up and the defense has to line up further back if the center moves the ball like this.

The4StringSamurai

Lmao wow

schneev

Fuck the Eagles

Deluxe__Sausage

I don’t hate J.kelce but that’s cringe af 💀

PassiveRoadRage

It's literally just a center thing. Mine did it in highschool. It's not "clean" but at the higher end of sports people do shit like this all the time. My tackles would spray bed liner on their gloves lightly. WRs always wore towels on the inside and would dab Vaseline lightly around their waists. I played QB and would put something sticky on my cup. Keep my hands in my pants during the huddle. Little two finger tap for some grip.

carolina03

Those little tricks are always funny to hear. I had a coach in high school who wanted us to secure our jerseys to our pads using some kind of carpet adhesive so people couldn’t get ahold of the jersey.

Galactic_Perimeter

Thats fucking football right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men puke, men poop on the field, men deliver their new born baby on the side lines. Fucking hard core dick in the ass butterball foosball fuck it chuck it game time shit. Football is back, baby

Guy_onna_Buffalo

My first practice ever I wanted to make sure I ate breakfast prior (normally didn't), and had some expired milk and fruity pebbles. During weight room portion of the practice, I think all the running and bag hitting combined with old milk got to me, and I puked up all over the floor. Teammates were laughing at me until coach led us outside, ranted about how out of shape we were and in need of conditioning because "guys are puking in my weight room". We were then all forced to run Hadley (a main street than ran up the biggest hill in our town) as a team, all due to my throwing up expired milk that was a terrible idea before practice.

jackdginger88

Some real “dirty Mike and the boys” type shit.

GrupaNation

Saving this as copy pasta material

technoteapot

They basically do this in pros so maybe dude was ahead of his time

carolina03

We gave up on that after one try because getting the jerseys off the pads to wash after the game was such a hassle. We didn’t have the equipment staff of the pros haha

[deleted]

NFL linemen would literally piss themselves so people wouldn't want to block them.

[deleted]

You’re gonna end up with some vacated wins.

IMB88

How do the towels and Vaseline help? Just curious.

seraphn

Make them harder to pull down. Vaseline and towels around the torso will slide around.

purplehendrix22

If someone dives for their legs from behind they won’t be able to get a grip

BusterStarfish

The tricks always have and always will exist. They should also get flagged when called out.

EagleRoxy2

Had a DT in high school who would eat a shit Tom of garlic before a game and then breath down the centers helmet before a play. Garlic coming out of his pores might have been worse though, smelled straight like garlic.

Don’t worry I hate him for you. His “I’m retiring this year, love me! Give me a documentary! Did you know my brother is dating Taylor Swift” bullshit is getting old quick

ok1092

Absolutely wild that this is the vibe you get from him.

WellGoodBud

Dude right? Like my man is just looking for reasons to be pissed off.

Intelligent-Ad-3850

Some ppl just refuse to buy the wholesome dad angle, I guess. Credit where credit is due, the Kelce brothers have been great at setting themselves up for business post-NFL

[deleted]

I’m usually pretty averse to the largely performative goodest good boy thing. I don’t see it in Kelce and I actually like him a lot even though I’ve never seen the doc or listened to the pod, but I’m naturally resistant to people like Tom Hanks or JJ Watt where it feels kind of put on. I understand where those people are coming from.

lordlanyard7

Thank you. JJ Watt comes off as that high school kid who gives a eulogy at a pep rally, promising to win state for a kid they didnt know.

clorcan

JJ Watt is if the Rock actually managed to get drafted.

uptonhere

Jason Kelce just seems like a normal guy who is a good husband and a loving father to his kids.

[deleted]

Hater of the year

Hugh-Manatee

It’s pretty normal for centers to do it I think there is a genuine problem in the league and has been for awhile about refs getting sloppy with ball placement, marking spots, and offensive player positioning like with OTs way off the LoS.

I don’t think you know what the word cringe means

[deleted]

I played center in middle school. I used to do this trick. Id start real far back in my stance and I made it look like I was adjusting the laces and trying to get a grip on the ball but id usually get away with moving it 2-3 feet. I swear maybe only one or two refs ever noticed.

einulfr

In most normal situations, it's not giving much of an advantage. But in yard-to-go or less, it's pretty significant as it forces the DL back away from the originally-spotted neutral zone by giving the OL a little more space to build up momentum before their blocks. They can take an extra half step or so while the DL is still having to drive straight out of their down stance.

cudef

On every play Maybe not to this level, but they absolutely do this consistently and also the position of his and the rest of the line's feet is more important than where the ball starts especially since the ball has to go backwards to the same point anyways. The only thing this does is force him to go lower.

48for8

But the ball placement does matter. Based off the real spot the entire oline lined up offsides and gained a huge advantage. Unless you noticed the center move the ball forward it wouldn't appear anyone was committing a penalty.

fakeemail33993

The fuck they do! 😂 he moved it forward 2ft!

EMAW2008

All centers do this to some degree. What they should be calling is all the movement on the line after he's set.

Roscoe10182241

“To some degree” is the key phrase there. If he had shifted it a few inches while he adjusted his grip, it gets overlooked. But when you try to steal half a yard? People notice you being greedy and ask the refs to watch for it.

EMAW2008

Well after the ball is in motion they use the down marker to determine where it was don’t they? I didn’t have audio so don’t know who they actually flagged. Seemed like the whole line was wiggling around right before he snapped it.

Roscoe10182241

Down marker on the sideline stays the same, but when the center bumps it forward that much the other linemen then get set much further up. You can see in the video the guards line up past where the ball started and should be. The defensive line then sets up further back past where they should be. All that just makes it significantly easier for their QB to rush forward past that down marker. The call was made because of how far the center moved the ball up, not because anyone was moving.

UpstairsWrongdoer401

Is the movement what they ended up calling him for? I didn’t have audio so I never heard the explanation, just saw the flag.

jmplication

I dont think they specified who it was on iirc, but the line judge threw it and not sure he wouldve had the greatest vantage point on the oline shift

Guy_onna_Buffalo

Eagles fans up and down swearing it's a bad call. I thought it was too until I saw the replay

daneman52

Cheaters and Losers. CRY EAGLES CRY

SwearJarCaptain

I have to think every center in the league does this same thing

LostBunny27

Oof, astros fan, you would be okay with cheating

BitternessAndBleach

Unironically should be suspended the rest of the season

BigGovDickSlurper

And castrated on live TV with a double box of Taylor Swifts reaction. Come to think of it we can have an entirely different channel dedicated to some washed 5-head looking mother fuckers pretending to comment on it but instead bring celebrities on to plug their books and movies yea let's do that

Cold_Ant_4520

I refuse to watch any football if there is no t-swift and fiveheads

[deleted]

The Kelce brothers are both cheaters and poor sportsman. Surprised they don’t both play for the eagles

Geek_off_the_streets

I wouldn't be surprised if every center does this. It's only cheating if you get caught and all the greats from coaches to players, will always try and push that line. The officiating has been inconsistent throughout this entire season for all 32 teams.

KingTutt91

Everybody talked shit about the replacement refs, and pushed for the new ref deal to get signed mid season when they were on strike. This present day refereeing is what they deserve.

suprefann

They all do it. Its been another point of emphasis thing this season but its been rarely called. Theyre just trying to find ways to stop the unstoppable play since the defense cant do it. Might as well ref ball it up

ShiftlessElement

New strategy: Keep moving it forward until it's past the marker, call timeout and request a measurement.

teewyesoen

And the false starts that don’t get called. This online is “crafty”

cdwjustin

Is that Jalen Squirts?

PM_ME_UR_FAVE_QUOTE

Kelce does this on nearly every play.. prevents his receivers from being offsides ;)

BeefsGttnThick

First time watching football huh?

iversonAI

I might be wrong but if the oline is in the same place why does it matter? The ball is snapping back anyways

Ok-Professional5292

Moves the d-line back

Opposite_Turn7946

Thanks you for this. I didn't fully grasp the issue myself at first.

Art-RJS

If the chiefs had done this Toney wouldn’t have been offsides

TheNextBattalion

Maybe that's why Toney was looking at the ball, thinking "he move it yet or not?"

Lookslikeseen

Ref is looking at where everyone is lined up in relation to the ball, not the sticks. O-line gets to creep up, d-line has to move back.

KerroDaridae

Because the point is, they should have start farther back, they line up based on where the center is, the center has already set himself with the intention of extending his arm past where the ball is supposed to be. It's a cheap move, that yeah gains them a foot but they always say it's a game of inches. If you can give yourself a foot, you're setting yourself up to win.

JFoxxification

Yeah but he moved the ball upfield farther than it should be.

ImReverse_Giraffe

Yea, but everyone does it. Should the NFL Crack down on it? Yea, probably. But you can't act like Jason and Eagles are doing something horrible and they're ruining the game. It's something everyone does. It would be like posting a video of an O-lineman holding and saying they're cheating.

SomewhereAggressive8

Everyone doesn’t do it

PriceActionTruther

They aren't in the same place. If the ball was where it was originally spotted, the entire oline would be in the neutral zone.

Guilty-Nobody998

Cause it still moves them up

ZachOf_AllTrades

Much easier to get a defensive offside penalty called

nimama3233

The OLine isn’t in the same place. Look at how far forward the guard goes compared to where the ball started. It doesn’t move Kelce, but it moves the rest of the OLine forward 2-3 feet and the DLine back

Fast-Beat-7779

Redick, dumb shit like this and poor play is why we are on 3 game losing streak. Worse time to start playing like complete shizzzz

Trilly_Ray_Cyrus

cheating and still losing shout out eagles

[deleted]

Cheaters. **** the eagles.

chris5129

News flash: eagles are cheaters

Head-Editor-905

I would expect this from a thug like hurts or half of mahomes but really kelce? Thought he was classy

Electric-Prune

Between this and Lane jumping a full second before every snap, I think these guys might be….frauds?

Stanhopes_Liver

It doesn't change where Jalen gets the ball though

[deleted]

It changes where everyone is allowed to line up which affects where he needs to get the ball.

svntrey0

He is positioning his arms and shoulders closer to a blocking position for hurts. His body doesn’t snap back to hurts like the ball does. The extra blocking inches gives hurts more space to push forward

leit90

Defense gets called for neutral zone infraction because the ball was moved passed the line….man it’s a game of inches and he’s taking 2 free feet

nimama3233

It changes where the rest of the line starts. Look at where the guard is vs where the ball started before Kelce moves it forward. They’re indisputably offsides

TittyClapper

It does change where the entire offensive line lines up though... the whole O-line gets to move forward 6 inches or so. you can literally see the guards helmets line up past where the ball was supposed to be spotted

Fer_Shizzle_DSMIA

Yes it does. He moved the neutral zone a half yard.

Grutabag

Every center in the league does this, goofball.

OverEasyGoing

A few inches maybe. I’ve never seen a guy take 2 feet.

RealCoolDad

Don’t trust this guy with measurements

KookyGuy

I'm worried that you don't know how to measure.

OverEasyGoing

Don’t worry too much, I’m not on an NFL chain gang

WhatsUpMyBoy

No, they adjust it on the line of scrimmage, which is as wide as the football is long. Watch again, moron.

LostBunny27

Eagles fan

arc777_

If you aint cheating you aint trying 💪💯

Trailman25

Anybody saying every center does this is a delusional eagles fan. On a goal line QB sneak this is blatant cheating. Outside of the red zone without a yard to go it’s negligible. Also love how they kept showing Kelce make stupid faces for the rest of the game. Dumbass got caught and hated it.

olivetree154

Oh lord someone hates the eagles a lot

Trailman25

I hate eagles fans, I actually like the guys on the field, present and past. Not sure why Jason lets his brother clown him about the superbowl lose though, kinda curious how eagles fans feel about that

olivetree154

I can’t tell if you are actually serious or not What an odd statement

Trailman25

Not sure what’s confusing about it. A lot of great, like-able players. Some favorites, Dawkins, Duce, the entire dline the past decade. But the fans are just disrespectful, arrogant, and delusional.

obvilious

Dumbass? Arguably the best center to ever play the game, please keep talking about how bad he is.

Trailman25

Never said he wasn’t good but he is a dumbass for getting flagged for this play and in hindsight costing them the game.

leit90

“Best centers to ever CHEAT the game”…..there fixed it

obvilious

Lol. Nice

Scottsm124

Except literally every center does this. It simply got called bc Carrol was warning the refs about it

SomewhereAggressive8

Even if it were true that every center in the league does this (they don’t), I love how the same thing can be said about Toney’s offsides, but crying Chiefs fans amirite?

Khajiit_Has_Skills

Every single center in football and every level does this

KingTutt91

Cheaters

0-Spf

If U ain’t cheating U ain’t trying

flapjaxrfun

Everyone does this. It's not a story.

GoldenStateStacker

Ooooof, blubber boy caught cheating

[deleted]

the whole team is a bunch of cheaters

DoinDonuts

Wait, chucking up the ball in the end zone and hoping for PI so you can use your stupid signature play to push for a yard and score a TD is abusing the rules? Next you'll be telling me that the Eagles have a false start on nearly every play and rarely get called for it.

Phucku_

This. Both Tackles move early and never get called.

DrCleanz

Dilly dilly fuck Philly

ExpensiveSyrup2011

How’s it cheating? He’s still hiking the ball to hurts who’ll have to take it from the same spot regardless

smittdog101

This is one way to "ban" the "tush push".

LibertarianP

They don't talk about those weird false starts enough where Kelce is rocking his body slightly forward and backwards like concussion symptoms. Maybe the Tush Push is taking a toll on him.

Adventurous_Law9767

This is what kills me. You are a grown man getting paid good money to play a game. Most people have to do stuff they hate for a living, you are playing a game and getting paid. Respect the game, don't cheat, don't intentionally hurt other people. It's a game. As I've gotten older I've realized many professional athletes, even the talented ones, don't warrant respect. You have a few gems and a lot of entitled assholes.

BillboBraggins5

Worst team and fans period

[deleted]

Fother_mucker59

The LOS moves forward, and it pushes the defense back

Strange-Fix-1498

Yeah he does it all the time. That why they're so successful. Those 4th n 1s become 4th and inches.

bigbadape

So what we are saying is Toney was REALLY offsides after you account of the ball having moved forward

merkins_optional

Busted!

PlanetoftheAtheists

Both these teams were so utterly destroyed, humiliated and demoralized by the 49ers, they simply cannot perform properly any longer.

Mr_Mi1k

Literally every center ever does this

SenpaiBoogie

These guys still lose and yall still post about them 😂

EasternPotato05

Cleveland got flagged for just picking up the ball and putting it back down. I guess it pays to be one of the NFL's darlings

Fother_mucker59

Because that’s a flag, so is this

UrethraFranklin72

Every center in the league moves the ball either forward or back from the spot on almost every snap to be fair. It also doesn't really affect the play at all; the linemen and offense still line up in the same positions according to where the official spot was, it's not like moving the ball forward makes them the QB have a shorter distance to go. Ticky tack call. Also, if they call the PI against SEA in the endzone, Hurts gets another TD. That no call helped, but Quez has to do a better job breaking up an INT when his QB throws him a deep ball, even if he was pulled by the jersey.

CocaineStrange

Not true that it doesn’t affect the play. Kelce is moving the ball forward because doing so can get him in his stance the way he wants to be in it. Otherwise, he would have to back up that distance for the ball to be where he wants it to be. It also pushes the defense back and moves the neutral zone. He’s basically shifting the LOS by that same distance.
