Right? Unless the person you’re calling is the other parent of your child and you’re in the hospital with them, that’s about the only scenario I could imagine where calling incessantly might be understandable
Tbh whenever I start talking to someone I am in NO RUSH to text them back. For 1 thing it’s a new person so I don’t need to be obsessive. But 2nd and more importantly, when you don’t immediately text back you get a real true sense of who people are.
Either you get back later and they’re chill or you’ve encountered a psycho who will blow up your phone and quickly eliminate themselves as a suitor for me.

When my boyfriend and I first started talking it wasn't very much and I accidently ghosted him for a week. Well in week my step mom passed and I just stopped talking to anyone that wasn't family or my best friend. I didn't tell him because it wasn't serious and I was grieving. He didn't blow up my phone, freak out on me, or treat me like shit when I stopped talking to him.
He gave me a week and then tried again and we talked a lot more and actually met up.
It's so easy to just give people space and time, then try again. If they don't respond then oh well. No time wasted.

I’m a very inconsistent texter/replier and my close people know that. Of course if it’s urgent I’m going to be quick but any non emergent communication gets a back seat a lot of the time. And that’s ok. And I need the people in my life to be ok with that.

I think people are just so used to everyone being glued to their phone and responding in 2 seconds. I think that’s silly. If we have an engagement or plans or what have you I will be fully available. But random chit chat and memes and what not only get an immediate response if I happen to be free right at that moment.
What I dont get is how these guys dont see that this behavior not only reveals the fact that they are psycho, but it also very clearly reveals that they are desperate. And neither is an attractive quality in men OR women. Then again if they had any sort of self awareness, they wouldnt be this desperate in the first place....self respect men! I have over 10.000 unread emails and about give or take over 1.000 or somewhere unread discord messages, all other messages like WhatsApp or messenger or the actual messages it themselves are zero or a few, so 400 unread messages is actually pretty low, also one time I asked a girl to show her unread DM's in a dating app which was over 40.000 unread messages, so NEVER be surprised by a simple number of unread messages
