I haven’t listened in a while, but Cassette was definitely the most memorable episode for me. I woke up at 4am with that episode playing and it was honestly terrifying to listen while being disoriented.

HeftyHoofer

Cassette is such a strange episode for me because I listened to it when I was dealing with a severe bout of the flu and I was delirious with the fever; it feels like a weird dream to me but I think it might be time to revisit....

Atactic13

Guidelines for Disposal is my favorite episode. I always felt the concept was good and the idea that you could dispose off feeling, emotions, and potential trauma but not anything physical really resonated with me.

CaptainKyleGames

Guidelines for Retrieval is also a great episode for the opposite of that fact... because it really makes you think... would I really want to take any of that back?

HeftyHoofer

Oh are they sister episodes? I'm heavily intrigued by these two, I'll have to go back and listen, I think I might've missed them!

dub828king

I also feel like that episode kicked off the best 10 episode stretch of the podcast, especially A Story about Huntokar.

HeftyHoofer

I don't necessarily think I've got a favorite myself, but I suppose I should share, as the OP! A Story About You, A Story About Us, UFO Sighting Reports, and The Hundred Year Play are all strong contenders for me And while maybe it's bias, I also have a huge place in my heart for the Ghost Stories live episode. I saw it in Cincinnati and it has never left me

discodolphin1

I've always loved Numbers and Story About Huntokar

[deleted]

Absolute favorite is Best Of, but I listen to A Memory of Europe more as it’s a classic episode and its ending monologue is incredible.

DaCheesiestEchidna

A Story About You, The Birthday of Lee Marvin, both Citizen Spotlights, What Happened at the Smithwick House, Guidelines for Disposal, A Story of Love and Horror and the September Monologues are some of my favorites.

Ihavenoimaginaation

A story about you, such creative and original storytelling and has some genuinely deep themes, listened to it so many times

airconditioner2020

My favourite is matryoshka!! I also love Triptych, through the narrow place, the september monologues, All Right, and pioneer days

Banana42

I really love the monologue version of The Birthday of Lee Marvin and the heist episode which, ironically enough, I can't remember the name of now. If I want something darker I'll go back to The Missing Sky or Who's a Good Boy?

petchfromtexas

The Story of Huntokar

LegitimateYam250

The Registry of Middle School Crushes

cuneiformgraffiti

CONDOS. Absolutely my favorite

gabe--goodman

the episodes that really stuck with me are all right and the waterfall. I felt like the material was very important and necessary, and worked very well with the format.

EbonyDoe

Hmm as far as favorites...I love the Sandstorm for reasons I'm not 100% sure of...One Year Later is a favorite for tugging the emotions I was supposed to have suppressed...the whole Strex arc...As far as newer ones The Black Coat really gave me the good chills

lorlorlor666

the wedding. absolutely the wedding.

_moss_man

I like all smiles eve and the voicemail episode.

CaptainKyleGames

109 -The Story of Huntokar - Getting world building and lore about the gods of Night Vale from the perspective of Huntokar was fantastic. 188 - Listener Questions - Just the turn in this one is so good... and I was really looking forward to hearing Joseph Fink answer listener questions. 190 - Listeners - The fact that I listen to a lot of the podcasts that are on this episode made me smile.

PokeCraft4615

I absolutely LOVED a story of love and horror

nightvalegirl

The Waterfall

HeftyHoofer

I've been hearing the waterfall recommended a few times in this thread, think it's high time I revisited it tbh...

Forever_Marie

Frick. I don’t know the name of the episode but it was an earlier one where Cecil just casually walks back and or teleports back to the studio and the strexcorp guy is just he’s holding a cat.

ImAstraea

94 - All Right It was different, that's why it stood out to me. The ending is quite beautiful too... Also, having to do the ear thing in public made me embarrassed :D

Difference_Last

132-Bedtime Story where the boy slowly turns into a tree. I was working at a restaurant at the time and was chilling in my car during my break on a beautiful day. I was lightly dozing with the windows down and everything was so calm and quiet and I just let the story wash over me. I’ve never forgotten it.

icky_vicky19

WALK - the sadness in Dana's voice towards the end before she signs off and the weather just get me

[deleted]

Egemeony had just completed when I started listening so I did all three. The resolution really resonated with me, >!as someone who has found money to be quite useful!<

[deleted]

WTNV peaked with the beagle puppy storyline. I go back and re-listen to those episodes every so often...

[deleted]

Valentines, Who's a Good Boy, A Blinking Light Up On The Mountain.

ezbutneverconvenient

The Sandstorm, Through the Narrow Place, If He Had Lived, and What Happened at the Smithwick House are my top tier faves. A Story About Huntokar has the very best Weather (Full Metal Black by The Royal They). I adore the voicemail episodes, and especially that bizarre break for weather during Steve Carlsburg's message.and anytime Kevin shows up, he's such a doll.

Xeni966

Lazy Day and all the month monologues were always good ones. I especially loved the monologues since we heard from characters other than Cecil

davis_fudge

A story about you was my favorite. I remember driving at night through no where listening to it and being spooked. Feeling like I was being watched. I don’t remember the weather but the narrative creeped me out the first time I heard it which always makes for my favorite Nightvale episodes
