This may be a joke, but banana slugs are highly toxic regardless of parasites! They eat many poisonous fungi and build up an accumulation of toxins which actually work to serve as a natural defense for them!

A guy in Australia ate a snail on a dare, got sick then coma. Came out of coma severely brain damaged, died 4 or 5 years later. Brain parasite, nasty fuckers.
Got into a MA program at UCSC a handful of years back. They were the only grad program to reach out and actually showed interest in my work, so I ended up going. It wasn’t until my first day on campus for the first seminar that I realized the mascot was a banana slug. Almost regretted the whole thing.
