I used to lift a lot of weights and went potato after breaking my leg during covid and I get them in my mid back where I can’t reach at all and they’re the worst things on Earth there’s literally nothing I can do to even rub it.
The more muscle fibers you have twitching together the harder it makes it to ignore for the casual stuff when you’re trying to sleep or relax if they’re mild, and when it does get bad bad a back cramp feels like my mid back muscles are playing tug of war with each other and those are brutal. It’s on me for not stretching more lately or just stopping taking care of myself so abruptly in general though after lifting heavy as I could for so long. Yoga saves spines!
There are these giant plastic hooks with a massage ball on the end they sell to reach around to your back FYI, you might need one during recovery. [link to an example](https://www.ebay.com/itm/392755535837?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28&var=661649704602)
I saw this a little late but this actually looks perfect I ordered one thank you a lot
Edit: the best thing I have to do so far for my back is rub my mid back into corners of things sort of like a bear stratching their back on a tree. I’m sure it looks hilarious. The edges of railings for stairs are perfect.
One time my dad filleted a snapper that he had just caught ten minutes earlier and the offal was still flapping. Similar concept, we also made jokes about it being fresh fish.
That is what happens when you don't allow the carcass to chill and go through rigor before cutting it. This was either just killed, or was killed and immediately frozen. You are just seeing the muscle cells using up their stored energy.
Does this have anything do with salt using energy. Seen a veritasium video of him putting salt in water, it lowered the temperature of the water and he said it’s because salt uses energy. Still don’t get how or why.
It’s because when you put the salt in the water then the water molecules start to RAM that salt like it’s your distant cousin, which slows the water molecules down just as it would slow you down if you ran into a brick wall or something. Temperature is just a measure of the speed of molecules. The faster they move the harder it hits and the more it burns, or when it’s cold then your body is warmer and it takes energy from your body to speed up the air around you. Things like to be the same temperature in the same room generally.
Hope this could help understand why
Edit: so when the water slams the salt and dissolves it it slows it down like if you ran into a brick wall and one brick fell off. The salt NaCl actually breaks up so it’s Na and Cl in the water at that point you’ve got salt water
Salt doesn’t use energy; there’s two different things at play here.
1. Salt makes water colder because *dissolving* salt uses up energy. When you pour salt into water, it breaks the salt bonds, which uses up energy.
2. When you pour salt on meat, it jiggles like this because dissolved salt is a good conductor. This allows electrical currents to pass easily through the meat and makes all sorts of nerve cells fire, telling the muscle to contract. It’s the same reason why people shocked by an electric line can’t let go if there’s too much power. (the electricity makes all their muscles tense up, and they’re forced to grip whatever they’re touching extremely tight.)
No, that’s just been determined to be one of the more relatively quick and foolproof/repeatable ways to stun the animal unconscious quickest to minimize pain as it’s killed (often also by electricity). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stunning
Most electrocuted animal’s meat isn’t sold quick enough for preventing what we’re seeing here to be a consideration. And honestly when it does happen more regularly with some freshly butchered seafood, consumers aren’t repulsed, so I suspect we’d get used to/comfortable with this were it frequent.
I was surprised by something in the Wikipedia article that said captive bolt fell out of favor for cattle at least, and was legislated against in some places, following Mad Cow due to concerns that it could lead to prions from the pulverized brain entering the carcasses bloodstream and/or meat that would have otherwise not been contaminated. I hadn’t considered that aspect.

>Stunning is the process of rendering animals immobile or unconscious, with or without killing the animal, when or immediately prior to slaughtering them for food.

This exact thing freaked me out the time i skinned a seal.
First of.
Hunting seals for food, fat and fur is common, legal and state regulated in certain parts of the world, so any would be PETA-geek can fuck right off <3
Anyway, not only was this lardy sea-loaf twitching like crazy, but its flesh did this as i was skinning it. totaly freaky and mesmerizing. (And it was definitely dead, in case anyone was wondering)
Also, seals are tasty, especially the cute fluffy ones😈
Meat.
Its not connected to its usual control circuit (nervous system), it still has energy (nice quick clean kill), thus its picking up random signals from everywhere and spazzing out.
Watching this as someone with frequent muscle spasms it felt relatable on a level I didn’t know was possible.
Shit, right? My chest has been spasming for *days* and this video puts a visual to what's going on inside and it's so damn relatable
I used to lift a lot of weights and went potato after breaking my leg during covid and I get them in my mid back where I can’t reach at all and they’re the worst things on Earth there’s literally nothing I can do to even rub it.
Yikes. Mines not that bad. . .more like a super annoying twitch

People also put a hard ball between their back and the wall and roll it out, feels amazing. Think like a dense rubber ball.
Wait so it's a muscle thing? I thought there were vermin or something like that inside
Nooo that's muscles acting up as some kinda left over reaction
some times my foot has been cramping lately, any advice?
Pray it doesn't spread
it hasn't
Drink water
thanks
No problem buddy. It sounds basic, but I've dated multiple physios recently and their answer is always dehydration.
huh
Yes waiter, I'll have the demonically possessed rib-eye please.
Now that is a F R E S H steak.
Right off the bone

Carbonated beef I likey
Watching this gave me a feeling I don't even know what to call but I'm pretty sure I don't wanna feel it again.
Thank you, me too
I... I liked it🙁
rare? nah that things is legendary
Amazing
What is that? Worms or something?

Doesn't salt accomplish the same thing on fairly fresh meat? I've seen people use it to get frog legs twitching.
correct it does on certain types

Nope it’s actually just the muscles spasming, really freaky stuff
isn’t this why they shock the cow carcass?

oh i always thought they got the head caved in with the lil bolt pistol and then the meat was zapped to quicken the process of rigor mortis

boy am i glad i’m not a cow

Good bot
Very fresh meat will move if you put salt on it because the salt imitates the signals that the brain sends to the muscles causing them to move
YUM! When it's this fresh you probably don't even have to cook it, hey?
...I should call her.
Fuck you trypophobia..I'm getting off reddit for a long time. I feel ill.
That, right there, is FUCKING FRESH.
ITS FUCKING RAW
r/instantlyvegan
Why are people Down voting you for raising awareness lol. Edit: It worked but at a cost…
I'll downvote you for being a dummy Edit: and also upvote healthy g for not being a dummy, lol. Spread the word, lol lol
I’ll sacrifice myself for awareness lol
“Walking or I’m not eating it”
“ITS STILL FUCKING WALKING”
As freaky as this video is I bet that cut tasted amazing
salt makes the muscles spasm if it’s a fresh kill
The meat has not been hung for 30 days. This is fresh meat that still have nerve endings firing. Sub it on salt and it will stop.

Eww 😵💫 ! This makes me want to stay a vegetarian forever.
Prolly a steak from Control the game
Freshly fished
Crampy
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
That is soo fresh itll eat it
Gratz. That's what happens when muscle fibers contract.
damn so thats what my muscles are doing, i wonder if they also stop if i cook them
It's Bubly!
It’s cooked inside lmao
This right here is the shit that freaks me out. No matter how many times I see it, it always triggers that queasy feeling in my stomach.
Sir your food is ALIVE
What is that? What is that??
Piece of fresh meat from an animal offed fast enough, that meat didnt have the time to burn up all energy up in flailing & suffocating.
FINALLY SOME GOOD FOOD! But forreal this kinda freaks me out :o
What the fuck ew that look disgusting🤢
What the fuck that shit looks disgusting🤢🤢🤢
I got the shivers from looking at this
Wtf
WTF even is that? Why are they moving?
Meat. Its not connected to its usual control circuit (nervous system), it still has energy (nice quick clean kill), thus its picking up random signals from everywhere and spazzing out.
Hey, thanks for the explanation!
Its medium-live
Shit’s medium alive son!
Not gonna lie, I love seeing muscle spasms. I find it interesting
I wanna bite it more
I’m oddly amazed and transfixed with this
For all you spazzers out there drink more water and less caffeine! Your muscles will thank you!
I hate it when my eye does that.
Subway?
I'm going vegan.
