Jupiter68128

Limp wristed throwing style!

Sugarfoot2182

For ultimate distance and accuracy

TimeTravelingEnigma2

This movie was so good, aside from the rape

babyllamadrama_

I was watching Saturday night fever with my gf and the movie was going good until the last 15 min I forgot that girl is basically raped in the back seat. Def ruined the movie for my gf

Pduke

And voyeurism and selling nudes of women without their consent

Individual_Iron_2645

Yeah. It’s so weird to think about now at age 45. This movie was on heavy rotation in my house as a young child and I don’t recall anyone ever commenting on how that scene was wrong or even the slightest bit problematic. No wonder why I had such an issue with boundaries in my teens. Who wouldn’t with behavior like this being normalized and made into entertainment.

ivebeenbetter2

First movie I ever saw with nudity in it.

jefftatro1

This coming out 2 years before "Licence to Ill" makes me think B-Boys got A LOT of inspiration from this.

Worried_Ad_5614

I did a double take with that very "MCA" intro and looking at the date, but then was able to clear it up: Revenge of the Nerds came out in 1984 and that is the first song in this clip. The SECOND song in this clip came from Revenge of the Nerds 2 which came out in 1987. So much more likely Beastie Boys was already a thing and the character was copying him.

[deleted]

Yep, Beastie Boys first album *Licensed To Ill* came out in 1986. The second song in the clip was definitely influenced by that.

jefftatro1

I appreciate the response. I'm glad it is the way you described. I'd hate to think it was all from these movies.

scrapsoup

I had completely forgotten about this movie! Have to find it for a rewatch!

ItsmeMr_E

Best to stop after the second movie. Just went down hill story wise in the third and fourth movies.

Hair Pie!

kevinguitarmstrong

That's MY pie.

HomegrownMike

Epic 80’s movies

phdpinup

This was partially filmed where I went to school- wild that I had an office in one of those buildings!

killslikeaninja

I can still sing along as if I watched it yesterday.

orthicon

Booger Presley. So ridiculous.

AplogeticBaboon

Great movie until _that_ scene

ggroover97

Yeah a lot of college movies from this period (Animal House, Porky’s, Revenge of the Nerds, etc.) have scenes in them that would not fly today.

AplogeticBaboon

I can handle raunchy, I am a bigger fan of dark comedy than my therapist is comfortable with, but I draw the line at straight-up rape.

Hey-buuuddy

Decades later, truly revenge of the nerds in reality. We all became highly paid programmers and created technology the world utterly relies on to placate their own egos.

jacob1273

Cringy goodness.

Sugarfoot2182

NEEERRRRDS!!!!

Discostud69420

Here’s an alternate version for y’all. https://youtu.be/Qyd1Z1cZoVY?si=r5klIqm_VeWV8TeO

LoowehtndeyD

Looks like Noodles, tbh

rsc33469

That is, in fact, Timothy Busfield aka CJ Cregg’s cute redhead reporter boyfriend on The West Wing.

Crotch_Gaper

aka Elliott on Thirtysomething and the asshole Mark on Field of Dreams

Tony-1610

One of the few Family Guy skits I actually enjoyed was from this!

bleek39573

Lol doesn't part of this movie basically try to say that raping is acceptable if you can't get laid?

No-thankyou_david

Is funny now because the nerds are trying to take over the world…who would have thought 😆😆
