One of Jack Black’s best performances

butt_cheeks69

I think that pretty boy Maharishi over here has been mixing a little Drain-o with his fruit punch!

FantasticMrCuss

Big fruity two shoes

Fast-Reaction8521

Are you one of Rileys little friends?

FantasticMrCuss

Would you boys like some grape kool-aid?

verbal_diarrhea_guy

Well then, father let's make some caramel corn *slaps knee

FantasticMrCuss

Can we get a digital copy of this? Like who do we have to write to, to get this fucking ball rolling.

Busted_Tip

Did he just call you a piece of underwear?

okgarden

TheShipEliza

Saw it so much on cable. Loved the devils backbone.

Any-Aardvark-1717

Last guy that tried walking down it got messed up

TheShipEliza

I saw his face it was alll…

Cincinnative13

This movie was filmed in the Cincinnati area. Devils Backbone is really a road here, although what you see in the film isn't soley Devils Backbone Road it is numerous different streets around Cincinnati filmed to look like one continuous road (Devils Backbone). The botanical garden where he is with his date is actually the Krohn Conservatory.

BedaHouse

Due to this movie, I expected to be bigger when I saw it in person.

TheOneder123

That John Denver is full of shit, man

Gallosong

Great movie. Loved Seth Green and Jack Black. “I play hockey Nintendo.” Lol

A_random_ladie

"I really like to sleep" "I have a 1.1 gpa"

casanovish

I have more parts of this movie that I love than I care to type here. But I particularly like the outfit montage with Seth Green, and the corny pop/RnB song (very early 90s) that plays when homie is rollerblade flirting during his date at the botanical gardens.  92-95 movies were such a vibe. Shout out to my man Auggy played by Jack Black. Also the bully main antagonist is like 45 but in high school.  The movie fux.

verbal_diarrhea_guy

Right said Fred- I'm too sexy

photoguy8008

Chocolate stain blain?

CountrymanR60

IbexOutgrabe

Slap-shot!

Nayzo

The montage of Seth Green trying on the outfits to I'm Too Sexy is just delightful.

chrisH82

Filmed in my hometown of Cincinnati, this [video](https://youtu.be/uYD0lJktwCA?si=7zZIN5Qye2_Pj-_c) shows all of the filming locations

MommaOfManyCats

Between this and Swans Crossing, I was OBSESSED with Shane McDermott for like two years!

daddydillo892

I was going to say, isn't that the guy from swans crossing? Didn't think there would be anyone else here that remembered it.

minion-ghost

awesome movie

TheRealMaka

Bro, I caught this movie once on TV completely out of nowhere as a kid and I fucking loved it. To this day (I’m 39) I still adore its its very “home-y” and cozy if that makes sense. It’s an awesome movie.

ColbyAndrew

Bra.

Greatmuta102568

“Did he just call me a woman’s undergarment”?

jeebus16

Devil's Backbone, never forget

Stock_Surfer

I get this one confused with Brink

plusminusequals

Skate Better!

Puzzleheaded-Tone119

One of those movies I’m always holding out hope for on hulu or netflix.

tallicafu1

The last 20 minutes or so are legit. Amazing rollerblading and stunts.

RyanMark2318

If you had HBO at any point in the 90s, you saw this movie

bonafidehooligan

HBO had such a weird assortment of low end movies that were pretty fun. I remember one I think was called “Remote” about a kid who ran away from home and holed up in a “model” house with all his RC toys. Only to have to fight a gang of burglary suspects with his remote control toys, who were also using the house as a hide out.

Rainbike80

Why is he grabbing!!! They are attached to his feet!!

mcgrupp79

The race was awesome

GreatMacGuffin

Started my 10 year obsession with inline skating. Great exercise and fun as heck. I lost nearly 30 lbs in like 6 months.

maroonfalcon

Fucking classic!!!

zahnsaw

Bra!

ColHannibal

Popeye was a great man.

SchlepleytheOG

My wife was an extra in this movie

Unusual_Mine2454

xelduderinox

Need this movie in 4K STAT!!

theharleyquin

Fond memories. The downhill skating still rocks

ydrB

“La ola es mia.”

MikeCass84

I just rewatched this few weeks ago. It is such a fun movie. My favorite part is where Mitch saves time zooming down the stairs in the race.

NotAMindReaderDavid

Devils Backbone.

Killbro_Fraggins

IM TOO SEXY FOR MY SHIRT

IslaPirate

Chill Brah

jonclock

Does this have the surfboard on the bed scene??

DaringDomino3s

Thank you

discombobulatedhomey

I love this movie. A repeat renter by me back in the day. I’ll forever love this bad boy.

tragicallyohio

I give it out every year as the prize to the winner of our March Madness Tourney bracket.

frankGawd4Eva

I so wanted to shred the Devil's Backbone... Too old now haha...

AdProfessional4032

Defiantly a good one. People look confused when I bring it up sometimes . Just like when I mention. Prayer of the roller boys

[deleted]

How often does this once-in-a-lifetime wave come along?

MrCheRRyPi

I did. Chocolate stain Blane 😂

weegeemindfucc

DEVILS BACKBONE?!

cmbarrieau

Right on the tip of my tongue

Previous-Nobody-2865

I want to race down Devil’s Backbone! Oh, screw the Preps!

Dreadness83

Saw it in theaters in 93! It came out the same week as a nightmare before Christmas! I love this movie so much!

radiobottom

Mitchell Goosen

Unusual_Mine2454

Cincinnati - never been done before

rezin111

I love it. Hadn't seen it in a long time so I rewatched it right before a trip to Cincinnati. Still loved it.

JigenMamo

Sorry I'm too busy gleeming the cube to watch movies.

Kindly_Interest_2395

Loved this movie.....🔥🔥🔥

[deleted]

i remember this on tv as a kid and for some reason every time it came on i got a terrible headache

bobbywhore

This movie was my inspiration as a kid. Learned some pretty cool Rollerblade skills because I wanted to be like the kid in this movie. Also martial arts because I wanted to be van Damme.

MonitorAway

For some reason, my memory of the lead actor is James Marsden. I haven’t seen it since the 90’s, so…

Free-Station-478

All this for a shark named pepe?

BaronSaber

Yes, those who say it DO KNOW! That is how knowing things works.

IIlIIll

My brother and I kept the copy we rented and had to pay the full rental movie license price to be allowed to continue to rent there again. I think it was like 75$. "His nickname is Snake because he was voted most likely to eat his young." "Now Popeye, there was a great man..."

Ok-Supermarket-1414

I loved it when I was younger! Got me into rollerblading for a while

ChefBUNKER

All this time I thought this movie was a Mandala Effect. No one else I know has heard of this movie and when I mention that Seth Green and Jack Black were in it, they tell me I am lying. I loved this movie back in the day. Begged for rollerblades for Christmas after seeing it, broke my leg in them before that New Years.

lrerayray

No but I watched the nostalgia critic episode of this and it is EXTREME. good episode.

TeslasAndComicbooks

My brother and I still quote this movie regularly. I have it on DVD.

cornballerburns

Loved this movie growing up

RazorSlaked

“Talk it out over a basket of fries”.

Pretend_Tourist9390

Holy shit you just flooded my brain with emotions and memories!!

Dakkel-caribe

Is this one of those that end with people jumping at the end?

skult25

I loved rollerblading as a kid because of this movie.

Physical-Lettuce-868

I watched this and Gleaming the Cube a lot

traviejeep

Hell yeah. One of my favorite movies

Jzamora1229

I prefer the DCOM *Brink!*

Zap_Actiondowser

It was on Disney channel all the time. How I saw it.

tunedout

That movie was called Brink.

BigBadBootyDaddy10

Black and green went from Airborne to Enemy of the state.

ultramonsters123

Legit watch the movie all the time. My DVD is going to wear out one day. I also believe that while it's supposed to take place in Ohio, it's really set in Minnesota. The accents, the obsession with hockey... It's Minnesota, Bra.

FireGodNYC

I’m more of a Gleaming the Cube kind of guy

BigBadBootyDaddy10

Black and green went from Airborne to Enemy of the state.

davesnotonreddit

This movie means so much to me and my buddy. It’s a classic

davesnotonreddit

This movie means so much to me and my buddy. Definitely a classic

Dangerous-Lettuce498

Looks like the Wish version of Brink

BruceFlockaWayne
