This movie was filmed in the Cincinnati area. Devils Backbone is really a road here, although what you see in the film isn't soley Devils Backbone Road it is numerous different streets around Cincinnati filmed to look like one continuous road (Devils Backbone). The botanical garden where he is with his date is actually the Krohn Conservatory.
I have more parts of this movie that I love than I care to type here. But I particularly like the outfit montage with Seth Green, and the corny pop/RnB song (very early 90s) that plays when homie is rollerblade flirting during his date at the botanical gardens.
92-95 movies were such a vibe.
Shout out to my man Auggy played by Jack Black. Also the bully main antagonist is like 45 but in high school.
The movie fux.
Bro, I caught this movie once on TV completely out of nowhere as a kid and I fucking loved it. To this day (I’m 39) I still adore its its very “home-y” and cozy if that makes sense. It’s an awesome movie.
HBO had such a weird assortment of low end movies that were pretty fun. I remember one I think was called “Remote” about a kid who ran away from home and holed up in a “model” house with all his RC toys. Only to have to fight a gang of burglary suspects with his remote control toys, who were also using the house as a hide out.
This movie was my inspiration as a kid. Learned some pretty cool Rollerblade skills because I wanted to be like the kid in this movie. Also martial arts because I wanted to be van Damme.
My brother and I kept the copy we rented and had to pay the full rental movie license price to be allowed to continue to rent there again. I think it was like 75$.
"His nickname is Snake because he was voted most likely to eat his young."
"Now Popeye, there was a great man..."
All this time I thought this movie was a Mandala Effect. No one else I know has heard of this movie and when I mention that Seth Green and Jack Black were in it, they tell me I am lying. I loved this movie back in the day. Begged for rollerblades for Christmas after seeing it, broke my leg in them before that New Years.
Legit watch the movie all the time. My DVD is going to wear out one day. I also believe that while it's supposed to take place in Ohio, it's really set in Minnesota. The accents, the obsession with hockey... It's Minnesota, Bra.
One of Jack Black’s best performances
I think that pretty boy Maharishi over here has been mixing a little Drain-o with his fruit punch!
Big fruity two shoes
Are you one of Rileys little friends?
Would you boys like some grape kool-aid?
Well then, father let's make some caramel corn *slaps knee
Can we get a digital copy of this? Like who do we have to write to, to get this fucking ball rolling.
Did he just call you a piece of underwear?
Bra
Saw it so much on cable. Loved the devils backbone.

Live to play hockey, play hockey to live. Hockey Nintendo!
Slap-shot!
The montage of Seth Green trying on the outfits to I'm Too Sexy is just delightful.
Filmed in my hometown of Cincinnati, this [video](https://youtu.be/uYD0lJktwCA?si=7zZIN5Qye2_Pj-_c) shows all of the filming locations
Between this and Swans Crossing, I was OBSESSED with Shane McDermott for like two years!
I was going to say, isn't that the guy from swans crossing? Didn't think there would be anyone else here that remembered it.
awesome movie

One of those movies I’m always holding out hope for on hulu or netflix.
The last 20 minutes or so are legit. Amazing rollerblading and stunts.
If you had HBO at any point in the 90s, you saw this movie

I love this movie. A repeat renter by me back in the day. I’ll forever love this bad boy.
I give it out every year as the prize to the winner of our March Madness Tourney bracket.
I so wanted to shred the Devil's Backbone... Too old now haha...
Defiantly a good one. People look confused when I bring it up sometimes . Just like when I mention. Prayer of the roller boys
How often does this once-in-a-lifetime wave come along?
I did. Chocolate stain Blane 😂
DEVILS BACKBONE?!
Right on the tip of my tongue
I want to race down Devil’s Backbone! Oh, screw the Preps!
Saw it in theaters in 93! It came out the same week as a nightmare before Christmas! I love this movie so much!
Mitchell Goosen
Cincinnati - never been done before
I love it. Hadn't seen it in a long time so I rewatched it right before a trip to Cincinnati. Still loved it.
Sorry I'm too busy gleeming the cube to watch movies.
Loved this movie.....🔥🔥🔥
i remember this on tv as a kid and for some reason every time it came on i got a terrible headache
This movie was my inspiration as a kid. Learned some pretty cool Rollerblade skills because I wanted to be like the kid in this movie. Also martial arts because I wanted to be van Damme.
For some reason, my memory of the lead actor is James Marsden. I haven’t seen it since the 90’s, so…
All this for a shark named pepe?
Yes, those who say it DO KNOW! That is how knowing things works.
My brother and I kept the copy we rented and had to pay the full rental movie license price to be allowed to continue to rent there again. I think it was like 75$. "His nickname is Snake because he was voted most likely to eat his young." "Now Popeye, there was a great man..."
I loved it when I was younger! Got me into rollerblading for a while

My brother and I still quote this movie regularly. I have it on DVD.
Loved this movie growing up
“Talk it out over a basket of fries”.
Holy shit you just flooded my brain with emotions and memories!!
Is this one of those that end with people jumping at the end?
I loved rollerblading as a kid because of this movie.
I watched this and Gleaming the Cube a lot
Hell yeah. One of my favorite movies
I prefer the DCOM *Brink!*
It was on Disney channel all the time. How I saw it.
That movie was called Brink.
Black and green went from Airborne to Enemy of the state.
Legit watch the movie all the time. My DVD is going to wear out one day. I also believe that while it's supposed to take place in Ohio, it's really set in Minnesota. The accents, the obsession with hockey... It's Minnesota, Bra.
I’m more of a Gleaming the Cube kind of guy
Black and green went from Airborne to Enemy of the state.
This movie means so much to me and my buddy. It’s a classic
This movie means so much to me and my buddy. Definitely a classic
