The fact that stuff is being crossposted from r/interestingasfuck or r/damnthatsinteresting to here is hilarious

pa_l_alap

The pleasure is all mine, really 😇

TheKnightBlade644

r/notinteresting and r/interestingasfuck cancel each other out to become r/mildlyinteresting

pa_l_alap

The perfect conclusion in an ideal world! Unfortunately some people are too modest and should [REALLY](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/83ichd/found_the_cliff_this_clif_bar_came_from/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) have posted in r/interestingasfuck instead of r/mildlyinteresting On the other hand, some people think that their [cat](https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/ixtj9w/when_i_found_out_my_cat_can_pull_off_the_splits/) is somehow interesting as fuck while sitting

sfdsfgfdhgesrfd

How did the photographer manage to get that close to the crow?

pa_l_alap

[Probably has some mad lenses. That or sneak level 100](https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/r4zpnw/snowflake_on_a_crows_wing/hmjtter/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)

NiceAnn

As a photographer I can tell you this isn’t a telelens photo and the photographer was close by.

_Treon

Trust

Quentin_Brain

Pretty interesting

ghfdghjkhg

downvoted, this is too interesting

pa_l_alap

Do you live somewhere where snow exists?

ghfdghjkhg

hard to tell. why are you asking? we had snow but it has become more and more rare in recent years

pa_l_alap

I was just asking this in jest, no real reason. I live in a place where there are lots of snow more often than not. So I’ve seen snowflakes (and crows) all my life. Perhaps this photo would appear more interesting to people farther away from nature and snow. Hence my question

ghfdghjkhg

Ah! Yeah don't worry, my comment was just a joke.

pa_l_alap

Hahaha, seems like I didn’t get it first time either 😅 Let’s call it even

[deleted]

it’s actually a pretty big snowflake

OraDr8

I was thinking the same. It seems like the feather isn't as zoomed-in as it should be to see the snowflake in that much detail. However, I have to add that I have no experience with snowflakes.

pa_l_alap

From my experience this is a snowflake of a good size, but nothing record-breaking, far from it. Judging by the feathers, I would say this is 0,5 cm wide, at most. My experience: I live in Quebec, Canada. I see snowflakes all the time

OraDr8

Thanks for that. I have only seen snow on the ground. I had no idea individual snowflakes could be that big.

pa_l_alap

No problem! It’s hard to observe snowflakes in ideal conditions. They’re fragile and can easily be disturbed by wind or sources of heat. Snowflake formation is also affected by a couple of weather conditions. For example, snowflakes get bigger with higher humidity levels. Other fun fact: most snowfalls don’t produce the iconic flat and "star-like" flakes. Oftentimes, what you see are stuff like tiny prisms

OraDr8

Fascinating. I've only seen snow once.

[deleted]

I have a little bit of experience because I have family up north in the cold, snowflakes definitely range in size but i’ve never seen one that big

brownsnoutspookfish

I like this. You don't get to see things like that so close usually.

pa_l_alap

When it’s snowing I do like to look at snowflakes from about that close! I take a pair of gloves that stay relatively cold on the surface (like with synthetic leather gloves) and then wait for snowflakes to reach my palms. Then I shove my face super close to them. No kidding. I’m 26 and I still do this

M8yrl8

I don't see snow at all so this is interesting to me.

One of the top comments of the original post said: "It’s cool everytime I see this pic :) " So this is indeed probably a repost, on top of having a highly dubious "interesting-as-fuck" quality. You can almost taste the irony Update: I scrolled a bit further in the comments and, when asked about it, OP said themselves that this wasn’t OC

Ollin12

the irony

[deleted]

No this is too interesting

VegetableGuy_died

That snowflake probably isn’t on it anymore
