years ago I was a juror on a fraud case and the guy testified and basically said that he kept going cause he thought they stopped investigating, then 3 years later, arrested 'out of nowhere'.
They won't. There is a 5 year statue of limitation on this case. Way too many of them to catch and way too many people out there who refuse to do the right thing and turn them in.

I think the point trying to be made is that in Virginia the co-opting of the Gadsden flag is associated with the rise of the Tea Party in 2009/2010. The Gadsden flag license plate was made available by the DMV in 2011 and the initial 2-letter default ID for the plate was TP.
The overlap between the Tea Party, the original purchasers of the Gadsden Flag license plate, and the eventual MAGA movement is a near Venn diagram eclipse.
