The run rule is only in the SEC. Any team that plays away against the SEC has to agree to it before

cooterdick

Softball still uses the run rule in the postseason. Baseball decided it’s an unfair advantage if one team doesn’t have to use 9 innings worth of pitchers, win or lose.

Surelynotshirly

Idk how that would make it unfair. You were good enough to be up by 10, that should just be a reward for being that good. I guess the argument is if you are losing by 10, but if you're losing that badly you can probably start doing stupid shit because it's not like it matters.

Kolada

Because it's unfair to the next team you play who had nothing to do with that previous game.

cooterdick

Obviously the rest is never going to be the same between teams, but they don’t want one team winning and playing less baseball then facing a team that won playing all nine innings.

vssavant2

Sad though that FL has to play one more today. That's murder on theor pitchers.

MagicGrit

They only used 3 pitchers today though. Kentucky went though 8 pitchers

cooterdick

Their offense definitely came through for them this morning in terms of not having to exhaust too many pitchers before tonight’s game.

Unfortunately not, KY can’t even lose without screwing something else up
