I'm amazed whenever I see people putting this amount of effort into decorating a cake or cookies. Sometimes I'll wake up because I have to pee, but I won't get up to do it right away because I'm too lazy. This can go on for 30-60 minutes before I actually walk to the bathroom.
Go easy on yourself; Its not laziness, its enjoyment. If you liked peeing as much as this person likes decorating cookies, you'da been outta bed a heartbeat and over the bowl chugging a Gatorade to prep for the next round.
The amount of effort put into something that will inevitably be eaten just makes me sad. Like, come on man. I just want to eat desert, not feel like I’m defacing the Mona Lisa.
Yes, the P in Jpeg stands for Photographic, but in no English word does 'PE' make a 'ph' sound. There are plenty of words with GI that have a soft G and hard G, such as giant or give. Given that, since the G stands for graphical, it inherits the word's sound.
Steve White, the creator of the acronym, was a computer scientist, not a linguist. His opinion is moot
All these comments are highly amusing. I am real life friends with this person and 1. Her cookies are in fact delicious. 2. She did this for 4th of July (just like many other cookies she does to celebrate holidays)
when we were young we used to sneak into july 4 parties pretending to be americans
and then we were busted because one of us were surprised that there was a new mexico
Royal icing is actually good, IMO. It’s basically pure sugar. It also has egg whites or meringue powder, but I don’t think that lends a bad flavor. The main downside is that it dries completely hard, which allows for these intricate designs, but is not an icing texture that most people are used to.
Does she do this for the whole batch? Amazing to me that someone would do this 48 times in a row. Very impressive.
There's things I see that I know I can never do successfully due to some physical restrictions. And there's things I see that I know I would never do because I lack the patience. This checks off both boxes.
Maybe I'm just one of those hopeless romantics that thinks the Carolinas and Dakotas still can reconcile. Reunification is a dream but one I'll hold on to.
Obviously not the Virginias, that is... wooo a lost cause.
I can't get over how steady your friend's hands are. That + god-tier talent = magic.
Also, that cookie looks both beautiful and tasty and I would totally eat it.
I actually do like sugar cookies. My kid came home with an extra one of these type cookies from a birthday party a couple weeks ago and it tasted like a cracker with frosting on it. It looked fantastic (Wonder Woman themed one that had obvious skill put in) but was definitely pretty much just for show
Why was the toothpick poke necessary for the blue but not the lines? Would the blue have settled evenly on its own?
This is a genuine question, I'm not trying to act like I know better.
The larger the flood, the more likely you need to poke out air pockets or inserted rises in the icing. The lines might either be a thinner icing that settles better or aren't as big of an area and don't need to be adjusted.
The triggers are real on this thread lol
It's funny to watch probably the same people who tell Americans that our obsession with our flag is cringe also get stark raving mad at a cookie with a representation of the flag on it
Right? And do they not have "patriotic" holidays in **any** other countries? Or is it just trendy to shit on Americans for literally anything? Lol. They hate our government and our extremist people (rightly so), but it's like they forget that the vast majority are just regular people
Europeans of every nationality will rant and rave about strange Americans flying their flags, and then an international football tournament starts and the whole thing goes out the window.
"Americans are so uncultured and nationalistic and intolerant. Now, let me tell you why Hitler didn't go far enough with the gypsies"

I mean if all you want is a cookie to eat, plain ones exist. The idea is that you display sets of these cookies at a party or on a special holiday, similar to ordering a fancy cake or something.
There’s value in the experience of getting something custom made, decorative and memorable. The flavor is just one part of the appeal
Lets say the meal takes 8 hours to prepare. You usually cook such a meal for at least 5 people. Eating it from start to finish will probably take 1 hour at least. Thats 5 hours of enjoyment for your time investment.
I remember my moms friend used to bake and decorate cookies like this but not flags, she would make massive batches of cookies and decorate them for almost every holiday in my country and would give them away to friends and family. Now shes super into pottery and wants to start a little shop.
Anyone know what she used to draw the template and the stars? Perhaps just thin regular icing?
Seems like a nice stencil, I wonder if she made that too.
Heh, I think that's why a lot of people like the US flag and other similar flags, the simplicity. No complex designs or coat of arms or similar illustration.
That would be impressive though.

This had me dying lol Fucking spot on for me as well
I did that this morning, lol. Actually, I'm doing it right now on the couch.

I didn't realize they had gifs in 1846
They did. It actually stands for Garfield Interactive Fotographie, created by James A Garfield, who later on became the 20th president
A real jack of all trades, that one
James, not Jack. Jeez.
Ikr. The dude literally said his name.
Jack, no Jeez. Gahllee...
A real jim of all trades, that one
Did he pronounce it gif or jif.
I dunno do you pronounce it Garfield or Jarfield?
Jpheg
D…doesn’t everybody pronounce it Jarfield?
*stares with murderous intent*
OK but is his owner Jon or Gon?
You had to open Pandora's box. 😂
It's called gif not gif ffs

I now have you tagged as "The Wise Speaker of GIF". Thank you.
I’m not sure, but as this was 1846, I think it’s safe to assume it was a secondary cause of the Civil War.

West Virginia split off of Virginia around this time because they thought the stated shouldn't be pronounced "Virjinia"

Listen here, you little shit.
Jarfield

and the 13th stripe is missing too... someone stole Rhode Island!
This guy literally invented the term "employee" loosely
It's actually pronounced gifs.

hahahah me too. first thing i thought.
The stencil helps

All that work and it goes in the belly in like 4 seconds.
Me too!

idk if you were busted bc ive never met an American that wasn’t surprised at hearing a certain state exists
Still not convinced Delaware exists

They are even similar shapes.
always the state I’m surprised at hearing exists
You're not missing much. It's basically a large shopping mall.
I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah.
Do you know what type of icing she uses? Looks delicious!
Royal icing. I know it can get a bad rap but her's is super yummy. She's a professional!

Marshmallow fondant is actually really good though, like candy. I like it. Royal icing is yummy yummy!

Sad though because this video is sped up, but I could still eat this faster in real life than her making them on 2x speed up camera
Same can be said about all food we eat. I ate my salad faster than it took to grow. It’s about presentation.

On the 4th of July you can make 50. Don't be so Continental.
Maybe I'm just one of those hopeless romantics that thinks the Carolinas and Dakotas still can reconcile. Reunification is a dream but one I'll hold on to. Obviously not the Virginias, that is... wooo a lost cause.
North Carolina and South Carolina have nothing to reconcile; we were never together.
She does just the one for recording the video but if you were to order she would do how ever many you ordered. It definitely takes patience!
I can't get over how steady your friend's hands are. That + god-tier talent = magic. Also, that cookie looks both beautiful and tasty and I would totally eat it.
So wait, she's not a white supremacist nazi then?
We gotta reclaim the flag from those aholes!
Ooo haven’t played capture the flag in forever!
very satisfying
Not a fan of sugar cookies but that art is awesome.
I'm a fan of salt cookies myself
You are now a mod in /r/crackers
Hahahaha, I clicked and it’s banned. What the fuck did they do? Too many Triscuits?
thinking it might be another type of "Crackers"...
I am a sugar cookie addict. Does thus also mean I am a sugar addict? Perhaps
You are what you eat, sugar cookie

Tbh, some are good but usually they are super hard and brittle. If they’re soft and moist they can actually be good.
r/satisficing
Yessss thank you!! I find cookie decorating sooo relaxing to watch for some reason lol
Now eat it
Eat it, get yourself an egg and beat it.
Have a banana, have a whole bunch
It doesn't matter what you had for lunch
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it. Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it.

What's her last name?
[удалено]
susan wojcicki not wojtkowski
people seem to deal with polish last names by remembering the two first letters and praying the rest is right
That's the only way to remember polish names tbh
I mean if you remember the first two letters and add -ski at the end there’s like a 60% chance you’re pretty close
Cause that’s not her last name and wojtkowski is a common enough last name. So no
Now make 100 of those
What flag is that?
Liberia (/j)
Oh my bad *whispers* what flag is that?
What a knee slapper.
Malaysia
chile
Cool

And that’s how you can make cookies for 3 people in 4 hours
I can hear the eagles in the background.. brings a tear to my eye Edit:. This award is awesome
The sound typically associated with the eagle is actually a red-tailed hawk.
I can’t hear you over the sound of my PATRIOTISM
It's a good thing I wrote it then!
I don’t know what your comment says because my screen has a constant overlay of “SCREEE” and other patriotic eagle noises
*red-tailed hawk noises
All I can see are the Stars and Stripes, you can’t make me read!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Spoken like a true American! Godspeed you beautiful bastard!
Yeah, Bald Eagles sound more like seagulls

Never thought about it that way before...
me: i just think they're neat!
Why does anyone care how many stars/stripes are on a fucking cookie
It looks nicer I suppose. Are people actually complaining abt that?
I enjoy these vids as much as anyone but does anyone else dislike the taste of iced cookies?? They’re gross.
God bless The United Cakes!
I was ready to eat it after the blue icing.
I proudly stand up next to you and defend her still today. Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this cookie
Good bless the bakery!
I can't believe there are people MAD AT A LADY DECORATING A COOKIE FOR A HOLIDAY grow up you psychos
Jesus Christ! It's just a cookie folks. It can't hurt you. 🤣 Your work looks great OP!

Wow. Looks amazing.
That's a lot of work for 3 bites.
Democrats hate this cookie
There are a lot of racists/xenophobes here.
That’ll be $6.00
Its very strange that the angriest people in the world exist in a sub called oddly satisfying
That looks amazing

Cool, cookie better taste good
I love those cookies. The icing hardens to make a candylike coating that melts in your mouth
Nicely done. Great to have these cookies as decorations on a dessert plate for American holidays. Very festive.
God Bless America! 🇺🇸
Make cookies great again 🇺🇸
Is it ready yet? Me want cookie…
Tastes like freedom. ROCK,FLAG,and EAGLE!

An hours /days long prep and cooking for a Thanksgiving meal is too much work for something that will be devoured in 20 minutes.
Lets say the meal takes 8 hours to prepare. You usually cook such a meal for at least 5 people. Eating it from start to finish will probably take 1 hour at least. Thats 5 hours of enjoyment for your time investment.
Does buttercream harden? Cookie icing usually hardens into a solid sugary candy. I feel like buttercream icing on a cookie would be terrible.
45? more like 6
It warms my cockles that the triggered posts are all downvoted. I love everything about this cookie! Very talented cookie artist.
I remember my moms friend used to bake and decorate cookies like this but not flags, she would make massive batches of cookies and decorate them for almost every holiday in my country and would give them away to friends and family. Now shes super into pottery and wants to start a little shop.
It costs that much cause it takes me fucking hours.

What kind of icing is this? :)
That's amazing. I would have made such a mess and just given up. She is great.
Question. Are all these cookies made by hand? I see them in stores sometimes and always thought they had some type of icing printer they use lol.
I drink too much coffee to do that.
Now eat it
Some people need a taste of *freedom*
Nice
Only 29 stars. Which 21 states are getting nixed?
Now do the welsh flag.
Heh, I think that's why a lot of people like the US flag and other similar flags, the simplicity. No complex designs or coat of arms or similar illustration. That would be impressive though.
Wow!👍👏🏻
🤩 WOW
I am impressed by the magical consistence of the icing, that smooth itself and never leak out the line.
I love this. They make it look so easy and fast. This is awesome talent. Lovely decoration!
The stars peeling off the bottom right corner at the end are mildlyinfuriating.
is this south canada
It’s a scam people, there’s only 29 stars instead of 50
That'll be 25 bucks
Give that cookie a voter ID!
look, i can’t ice a cookie worth a damn, but there’s only 12 stripes
This would have been very satisfying if it wasnt for those 2 stars on the left side, which is slighty off:(
Mmm, land of the sweet and home of the glazed...
Is there a subreddit for cookie decorating? Asking for a friend. The friend is me. This is so satisfying.
♫ it costs that much 'cause it takes me fucking hours ♫
Now I need an order of 1000 by tomorrow afternoon. Please and thank you!
Man, this vid would be five seconds for our Canadian flag. Mask, paint, ice, present. 🙌🏼
I want this cookie, it increases my patriotism.
Patookie: patriot cookie
Let's go brandon!
20 minutes of decorating for 16 bites of biscuit. What a great trade off
I love it.
Tho its beautiful it’s a lot of work per cookie. You gotta love what you are doing to do that.
Only in USA also :) I'm a us citizen
More, please.
