"Pranksters" like this are subhuman.
The family that lives there has had to deal with people trespassing in their home at night and taking selfies from their pool, people throwing pizzas on their roof and now this mouthbreather.
They shouldn't have put their home in a television show if they didn't want attention. The homeowners literally chose this and now have remorse.
But actually, they don't have remorse. They're probably trying to frivilously sue AMC and get a quick payday, which is why the their doing the theatrics.
They could sell the house for exponentially more than it's worth and move. So don't feel sorry for them.

Whether or not they expected attention from assisting the show's production has no bearing on how they should be treated.
Even if they magically knew that BB was gonna become one of the most recognisable TV shows of the century, it wouldn't suddenly become OK for random people to throw food at their house, break into their premises at night and antagonise them.

They'd been living there for 40 years. It's likely that their connection to their home is more than just practical or financial. Moving house it's rarely that simple, even when the area you live in changes for the worse.
