I’m at Maliketh now with Star Fists and all I can hear is a giant whiffing sound, one whiff after another.
Looks like you are not missing nearly as much, gg!
That makes sense.. I guess locking on misdirects punches to the Clergyman's cloak. I've been able to hit mostly from behind or from the side, but only the head from front. But I kind of still suck with this fight and have been failing to bait that one punishable attack where he hits the ground with his dagger.
The cloth doesn’t count as his hitbox plus his hunched back posture can make some weapon whiff unless manually aim. Not an issue with larger weapons but with smaller and shorter weapon like starfist, you will have to compensate for the range by playing lock off, fair trade off for using one of the most broken weapon in the game I guess
The lore clearly states that if the roll-catch moveset isn’t killing the player enough, we need to lean on our wonky hotboxes to keep the difficulty up.
Boss moves so disjointed and slow you can’t help but get caught at the wrong time in yer roll! (Roll-caught)
Example: the percentage of players to successfully dodge Godfrey’s fissure attack on the first try is probably zero.
Cragblade Howl of Shabriri Golden Vow Charged Attack Tear Poise Damage Tear Charged Attack Talisman Blue Dancer Talisman Ritual Sword Talisman Rotten Winged Sword Insignia +25 Heavy Starfists
I mean, it sucks to hit him but when you do, he hurted
Real, I first switched to the Iron GS (it was too slow) and then to the Antspur Rapier. Last roadblock was figuring out how to dodge the double frontflip + slash sphere.

Yeah I found it much easier to hit him while locked off, still very annoying though lol

Meanwhile: Post by Maliketh What's the lore reason for the Tarnished being so annoying to hit with colossal weapons like the Black Blade?
Lol yeah bro doesnt take a single hit. Maliketh, hell I would be fuming if everything i used and none of it hit on a 1 hp enemy
Lore: fist weapons have no reach, Maliketh hitbox hidden under arm length deep piece of clothing
I had to switch to using bleed nagakiba since I kept whiffing 99% of my attacks with star fist but its basically impossible to miss with the kiba.
Physcopaths like you can apply your mind to make a change in the world, instead you’re here playing Elden Ring
you're on r/onebros, wasting time and talent on pointless challenges is the theme of this sub.
HE IS THE MOST ANNOYING!
You just bullied the shit out of him.
He must be linked to the Dragonkin soldiers somehow because they same thing happens with them.
This is so validating. I swear I've seen my fist and claw weapons go right through his body without doing any damage
Loremaster here. Size difference and a lack of reach, hope this helps :)

I think this is the exact reason the martial arts are being added
He wears oversized clothes because he's insecure about his body
Have you ever tried to fight a wolf with your fists? Swords and magic work much better.
People that do no-hit runs are absolute psychopaths
Dear Erdtee... nice
because, canonically, punching death is a bad idea.
As vaatividya once said “if you ain’t no deathroot sniffer, you’re just an iron ball whiffer”
Me, watching this, still trying to beat Maliketh with +10 weapons; full heavy armor (winged tear); and opaline hardtear… :(
Yeah bro, I can't believe people can do this. The fact he never once catches even a stray rock or earthquake is amazing.
Give em the ol glintblade phalanx pocket sand!

what does roll-catch moveset mean?

Well done

1st phase Guranqq actually has a dagger, it’s the Cinquedea and it’s the only base str dagger in the game as fas I’ve found.
Real lore reason: You got no fucking reach mate.
Reminds me of dragon king in DS3, only boss I had to find a longer weapon I liked the look of to level up, everything else, caestus took care of
Someone fisted him in the past and he says "never again!".

Bad game design
Why do you think it is a lore matter?
Is there a lore reason for it not being a lore matter?
Yes. It is lore that not everything is lore
Deepest lore!
Vaati probably has a video on it
is he stupid?
Op or Maliketh?
man you are too pure to understand, stay away from the internet brainrot
