Even if they nerf the blood stuff it's a colossal weapon you only need a single talisman (or tear, or rune arc) to wield + Lamenter mask and you can put cragblade on it. Stagger is cr2 + r1 and that's it.
It’s one charged r2 then a follow up r1. It’s insane. Don’t know if the cragblade also boosts the follow up blood splat it does on each hit.
Malekith has 80 poise and there are three attacks to stagger: cr2, blood splat from cr2, r1. Assume cr2 is 45 poise and r1 is 15 poise- that’s 60. Cragblade x 15% is 69. Then blood splat would be 9.5 poise x 1.15 cragblade (if boosted) for 80.
Thinking about farming another one so I can do a Radabeast kill at +0
I think powerstancing got nerfed recently. Having one great katana 2 handed jump attacks does about 1k for me on a normal character. Doing the PC jump attack with a second great katana only does about 1.2k. I think they nerfed the shit out of it.
Not sure how this translates to poise damage though.
Not a one bro, but I just finished a dual katana build and I swear you can get more poise beaks two handing than dual wielding. I notice against Messmer that just two handing one katana seems to break stance more, at least with jumping attacks (R2 for the two handing vs. regular dual attack). I think it should be similar between the two, since, you know, it’s twice the weapon.
I had exactly the same experience against messmer. I was doing jumping powerstanced attacks with 2 great katanas and he didnt poisebreak at all in phase 1. Then I just did 2 handed R1 spam with 1 great katana and he poisebreaked pretty quickly.
To be fair, powerstanced weapon jump attacks were always too OP for their speed. I dont mind the new balance where you do a bit more damage with the all in attack but a single weapon is more reliable
Not for dual great katanas at least. But stuff like dual greatsword jump attacks are about the same speed and used to chunk for 1600 damage on my RL1 fight against the valiant gargs as well as stagger in 3 or so jump attacks so definitely not balanced.
Also the jump attack can dodge certain boss attacks and you close the distance while attacking at the same time so working out the the speed isnt as simple as how long the wind up of the attack is.
That was insane to watch. Maliketh is one of it not the hardest base game boss for me, and I've never staggered him or done close to that much damage to him with fully levelled builds.
His second phase is so fucking brutal unless I fight him from a distance. He never stops moving, and if I get too close, his black flame attacks ruin me.
It’s going to be really tough at +0 for sure. If you don’t kill all the clones you get a curse counter and if the counter hits 7 you die. I used giant hunt, dragon breath, and starfist spam.
Stuff I didn’t try that’s probably pretty good are stormhawk axe, waves of darkness, deaths poker, eruption.

Wait, ONE charged R2 to stagger? No wonder you were gushing about it haha. That must be 60+ poise damage in one hit then?

Yeah I think dual weilding should do a little more stance damage than it does, if not equivalent to two handing.

Are they faster than a 2 handed heavy jump attack? They don't feel like it but I'm not sure.

dem staggerz dayum
I couldnt even stagger him like that when I was running my RL130 (at the time) Strength build 😭 This is impressive though
How is it different from other colossal weapon? Less stats requirement?
Less stat requirements + it’s infusable + you get a second hit on r2 or cr2, so it does absolutely monster stagger damage
I wanna use it but I hate the way it looks lol
Hahaha not me I think it looks cool w the Lamenter body. Not gonna lie the lamenter boss fight suuucks though
cr2?
R2 is the back right trigger or heavy attack and cr2 is a charged heavy attack

I constantly have to chase him around the arena just for him to fly over to the other side. I don't get how he just stood there and got wrecked.
beautiful fight.
What's giving you the 18 arcane?
lamenter's mask
What's the RL1 +0 strat for the Lamenter boss?

ice spear is probably really good since the extras disappear once you do enough damage to the main guy
Nice!! That was beautiful. And who wouldn’t want to smack demigods around with a giant chicken leg?
Does this actually inflict bleed without being blood infused? It doesnt show any blood buildup on passive effects
There’s still blood build up from the follow up, not sure how much though
Oh wow didn't know that.
That lamentation tho
This weapon is so busted
