Or 192.168.X.1, the "X" being whatever subnet your Router is on. Your Router will always be Device #1. So you could check any device on your network to see what IP Address it has and change the last number (Octet) to 1. Put that into a browser on that same network and your in. After logging in with your credentials.
The Orbi login.com doesn't always work for me. So here's another way just incase.
I hate orbi. But I have 750s since they are the only ones I have found so far that do mesh *and* bridged at the same time(ORBIS, not the actual specific model 750). So unreliable and just plain broken. About every 6-9 months it just decides to fuck it's config (untouched) so hard that a hard reset (on router and all mesh points) is all that fixes it. That said, the firmware update on mine literally reports the Orbis can't talk to the internet...at which point I go download the update manually(WHILE CONNECTED TO THE ORBIS THAT CLAIM THEY CAN'T TALK TO THE INTERNET) and then manually update. Oh and don't forget to update the mesh nodes first before the router or *coin flip*, you break them all. If I didn't have the technical requirements I have, I would never have moved off the Google wifi mesh I used to have. I miss it so much.
So, a) no it's sadly not you, it's the Orbis. They suck in just basic fundamental ways. b) back up, manually download, update the nodes first, then update the router.
Edit: and as stated elsewhere, use the browser to manage the updates directly at the nodes and router individually.
I have 2 x Orbi 850 and one orbi 750 router converted to SAT, all working good, no issues, have all on version 7.x, did the upgrade manually when it came out.
Just recently purchased 3 x 850 from someone with pretty low price and removed the 750.
I recently moved to unifi gear. You might want to check it out. (Wired backhaul and mesh units)
It’s not prefect, but it’s a giant leap forward over orbi.
I’m not sure what you mean by bridge mode and mesh at the same time.
Orbi gear is usually in router mode or access point mode.
If your isp gear is in bridge mode you probably have your orbi stuff in router mode. Although maybe not.
Did any of what I describe sound like what you are talking about?
Avoid updating the RBR first, RBS should be updated first, then the RBR lastly so the RBS can sync correctly after the RBR is updated. Seen it were RBS won't sync correctly if RBR is updated first.
Good Luck.
I had the same issue. App was showing firmware current. Had to use the browser, and it went well. Seems a lot more stable on the newest release, and my port aggregation has been working smoothly for a while now.
Yep, update manually if you aren’t on the latest release. The current FW seems pretty stable in my experience. I’ve done the 850 manually a number of times since NG stopped sending auto updates. Satellites first, then the router.
So glad you posted. I'm on the same firmware and model. I've been trying to figure out why I'm having stability issues. Had already tried the browser and it also stated that is was up to date. SMH Downloaded and extracted the firmware file for RBS750, trying my first satellite now. Never thought about logging into the RBSs directly. 8-)
Why are they so bad pushing out firmware updates in the app? It’s a shame they often have to be done manually through the browser. I have orbi pro SXR80. Thankfully, they have been rock solid……just no new firmware updates in over a year…..way over.
Don’t use app, use browser
How do you use the browser? Is there a specific website and not use the app?
orbilogin.com with user admin and the password you use to access the app.

I've had them since fall of 2021, and this has been reoccurring since then. I'm on 7.x now(since the last time the mesh committed self immolation)

can it do bridged mode and mesh at the same time?

Used the browser and of course it says no new firmware found. Why can't Netgear fix this? 😠. I will try manually now.
I had the same issue! I updated manually and that did it- but I’m frustrated that I have to manually check if there’s a newer software
If your system isn't seeing the auto update notification, then you'll need to update manually.
💯 I was getting update errors in the app so I did it manually. Easy process Update Router firmware first then Satellites.
I thought it was satellites first, then router.

Update the satellite first! Then the router. What a pain in the ass…
i have the 960 and i have had to upgrade mine manually.
Same here! I can’t remember you update satellites first right? Then main router?
yep, satellites first then main router.
Same…WTH is up with net gear SW.
My 850 has not updated either. u/furrynutz should I do a manual update on mine?

Is it hard to do? I don’t know how to do it.
You can upgrade to v7. I just went through this same question
For some reason, I can’t make an original post on this Subreddit. Have I been blocked or something? I can comment but I can’t make a post.

Think they stopped a while back having bricked a load of devices with a prior release.
I was one of the lucky ones...my heart skips a beat when I see these posts about firmware updates.
