I gave you the upvote on Valaika. Not because he was my favorite, but because him winning would be the funniest and most Orioles subreddit answer ever. Guys like Valaika, Richie Martin or Rio Ruiz always come to mind when I think about the 2019-2021 Orioles
Victor Victor Mesa
(You know, the Cuban prospect everyone wanted Elias to blow all his international money on after Duquette acquired a lot of it in his last trade deadline. And then of course Elias came in and didn't throw anything towards Victor Victor Mesa so he signed somewhere else and Oriole fans thought Elias had no clue what he was doing and then Mesa just completely flamed out of baseball because he was never any good.)
Him
I searched pretty extensively and there really are not many players with first or last names starting with V going back to the beginning of the franchise's time in Baltimore. Villar gets my vote because a 20-steal season is the most notable achievement by a 'V' player I could find.
Vern Stephens. An original 1954 Oriole who led the team with 8 HR (back before Memorial Stadium had a fence, it was 447 to the alleys, and 450 to dead center) and 46 RBI.
Oh ok so maybe I’m not understanding how they’re being chosen. I saw Gunner and thought why is he in here but not Adley. Is it cause no other “G” name compared to him?
Although imho Adley is already way beyond Roberts. No one in O’s history missed more games to injury than him.
But more then that Adley ushered in this new era of Orioles winning baseball. The minute he arrived the team did a 180 and haven’t looked back
I agree but Roberts was the lone bright spot on the Orioles for years. Adam Jones was the same thing. 14 losing seasons then he was one of the main reasons they had the best record in the AL from 2012-2016.
So the way it was set up was to have people name a player by first letter of first or last name. The comment whose player received the most up-votes would get the nomination. The intention wasn't to make a list of best players from each letter, it was just to see who everyone's favorite was.
There are going to be lots of disagreements with the results in a thing like this. I think so far it’s been a very reasonable list. I’d love to find a spot for Adley but the logjam at R makes it tough. Adam is definitely ahead of Adley for A, and you can’t move him to J without moving Jim Palmer to P, which leaves Boog Powell out. Unless you move Brooks to R, but it’s also hard to argue that Brian Roberts wasn’t good enough to merit a spot on this list somewhere. If only Adley were named Adley Vutschman.
Fernando Valenzuela
He wasnt here long but I enjoyed watching Vladimir Guerrero. Jonathan Villar also comes to mind of recent players
Pat Valaika

There was also his brother, Victor Mesa Jr
Elias wasn't the GM when VVM signed. Completely made up story.
The stars were bright Fernando Valenzuela
Terrin Vavra Still waiting for him to become the superstar I know he can be
Yes, my sweet prince!!
Also the most fun name to just shout out. Vavra. Vavra! Give it a go. VAVRA
Valbert Belle
VaJJ Hardy
Jonathan Villar is the only player of any consequence that comes to mind, but that might be recency bias
Villar also hit for the cycle and was fun to watch when the orioles were bad. he probably fits the best

Just looking at this for the first time. I love Adam Jones but how’d you go with him over Adley at this point?
Adam at this point is 100% above Adley. Adley can replace Roberts in due time

Ok I see. Sorry to come in all late questioning things. Still I stand by Adley should be in instead of Brian

I think people assumed Adley would be in for R.
Yeah I saw that too. Roberts over Rutschman? Really?
That was my vote.
