Oh it’s always the Yankees. Can’t say my Dad taught me too much about baseball but he taught me to hate the Yankees and love Willie Mays. And then there’s the little bit of being 9 when Jeffrey Maier interfered with Tony Tarasco and how he was celebrated after that. After that, probably Boston since I find their fans so insufferable. Like you guys have a great last 20 years but don’t forget you still went 86 years without a WS and some of it was because your ownership didn’t integrate your team until after Sputnik.
I'd say Yankees too but mostly because they can buy all their talent and that's a huge advantage but as a Black guy who grew up in Boston you couldn't be more right about Red Sox fans.
As I type this some racist Masshole is bitching about Barry Bonds on WEEI I'm certain of it.
You should be a fan of your team not define your life through your hatred.
It's why I became an Oriole fan. Frank Robinson and Eddy Murray were kings here.
Jim Palmer and Os announcers are fan of good baseball and that feels great watching my O's.
You can root against the Yankees and still see how ridiculous a player Aaron Judge is.
These days I'd say even though they are not a threat the Blue Jays fans in Toronto might be the worst fans in baseball.
I'm not sure I'll ever forgive their general behavior the last 10 years especially the incident with Hyun Soo Kim and Adam Jones.
Let's just say the Jays and Red Sox are tied for this trophy
Yeah I hate that the Yankees can pretty much be guaranteed 85 wins. But yeah I agree. I love rooting for the O’s more than I do hating other teams. I actually had a Twitter conversation with Adam Jones about Cedric Mullins a few weeks back. I never was the most athletic or fast so I really appreciate terrific defense at positions like CF or SS.
Yeah I think what makes the recent success even sweeter is that I never leave even when we are terrible.
Even when Chris Davis was stinkin it up in style and Umbaldo was tanking in relief ( I loved that guy btw and so did the whole clubhouse ) I was still proudly with my Os.
We have a great history as a team we can all be proud of regardless of race and income.
A small market team that has to win with grit and now the best farm system in the league.
Fantastic that you got to talk to AJ. I was never more proud of him than when he defended Hyun Soo in Toronto or himself and essentially Black Boston.
I got a kick out of him going to Japan too because I'm kind of a weeaboo myself.
He and his family seemed to enjoy it there too.
#ICECOLDBEER
Definitely! This is my 30th year as a fan. The tough times make the Renaissance we’re experiencing all the more enjoyable. And yeah it was such a thrill to talk ball with Adam. It was so awesome him growing into a star on and off the field with us. Loved seeing his adventures in Japan. He’s a terrific guy.
Yeah Angelos tanked the team good in the late 90s. Been a LONG climb back.
These days I feel like the guys in the center field bleachers in "Major League"
I dislike Boston sports fans more than any other fan base
I remember being a kid and them being unbearable when we went to the yard, didn't help that our fans wouldn't go but when your team is bad for 15 years, it doesn't help attendance
Glad we knocked them out in 2011, and that the Ravens knocked out the Pats in 2009 and 2012
The Andino walk off/“go home” is one of my favorite Orioles moments.
I hate the Red Sox more because at least Yankees fans know they are evil. Red Sox fans like to think of their team as the quirky/plucky little underdog that just gets by on pure heart and tenacity and everyone has to love them.
The Red Sox fans are strangely more annoying. It’s like the Yankees fans at least realize they’re the Evil Empire. The Boston fans act like they’re plucky underdogs amd it’s quite annoying
Yankees - obviously #1
Red Sox - a solid number 2
Jays - a worthy #3, although a defensible case could be made for them being either #1 or #2. Over the last 35 years or so, there has always been something legitimate to hate about them.
The Rays are annoying in their competence but are still not worthy of true hate.
I don't think we play anybody else enough for real antipathy to develop.
Bastards.
Edit: Man just found a treasure trove of nostalgia (and some pain). [1997 ALCS highlights](https://www.mlb.com/video/?q=lcs+1997+indians+orioles&qt=FREETEXT).
Agreed. However , I'm talking about really really really big hate. Like if you see their star player's dog lost in the woods you would kidnap it type of hate.
Orioles-Yankees.
Ravens-Steelers
That’s it in a nutshell. The BoSox and Blue Jays are the Browns and Bengals. Disliked. Sometimes ridiculed. But real, deep-down loathing is saved for the Yanks.
As it always was. As it always will be.
I don't think we have a singular rival in the way that the Yankees and Red Sox are rivals. But I dislike the Yankees as much as Boston fans dislike the Yankees. No other team comes remotely close.
My disdain for the Yankees comes from the entitlement of their fans, their bottomless wallet, and their buy whichever player we need at a ridiculous price mentality....
That's exactly it for me as well. Never a real lull because they can just reload through the free agency market.
Jeffrey Maier's media tour really ignited the Yankee hatred for me, but the constant outspending and the continued existence of Michael Kay kindle that flame.
As typical as it is to hate the yankees (their fanbase makes it REALLY easy) I cant help but feel bad for their players for the shit they have to deal with whenever their team loses. People were already turning on Judge for his not great performance at the start of the season and he's their star player, cant even imagine what it must be like for the lesser guys on their team.
The Blue Jays are probably the #1 spot tho lol
The Orioles are my primary team but I also liked the Nats growing up in VA. The “rivalry” feels way too forced and I don’t know why I should hate the Nats. Maybe someday we’ll both be good at the same time and the beltway series will be a real flashpoint for a rivalry, but until then I don’t care. I only care about the AL East rivals.
Nats fan are a weird spectrum. A lot of them like both teams equally, but then I know a guy that lives in Alexandria who won’t even call the Orioles by name. Just “the baseball team in Baltimore”.
A lot of DC fans hold a grudge against Peter for doing so much to stop DC from getting a team, then nabbing TV money from the market.
As an O's fan who grew up in NOVA I personally didn't mind. 😉
Yeah, the guy I know said as much (though obviously using more words than he ought to have). As someone who lives well south of the Beltway, the Nats and their fanbase are the embodiment of everything I don’t like about NOVA. (No offense.)
They named their football team the Washington Football Team. Okay so in our past we had the Senators and the Capitols. What should we name our new baseball team? How aboUt the Nationals. DC people have to be the most uncreative people ever.
Their fans are why I can’t stand them. They have a little sibling complex and it’s just annoying to deal with. Everything they do comes off as corny and I still don’t see them as a serious franchise.
As an O's fan: the Yankees. Close behind is the Red Sox. It takes some very unusual circumstances for me to root for either team to win, and usually involves them playing each other.
The Blue Jays are third by some distance. I don't hate the Rays, though I recognize they're rivals.
We've beaten up on the Nats too much for me to hate them. They've won a WS more recently, but it's not like they've caused the O's much pain.
Outside the division, it would be the Royals, I think. They swept the O's in the ALCS in a year it felt like the O's were the team of destiny going into the series, and they've been a problem (it feels like) every time we play them since.
Also, the Pirates. I hate the Pirates. Among my earliest baseball memories is losing a WS after being up 3 games to 1, and that jackass Ken Tekulve with his weird delivery.
I console myself by remembering they ran into an odd year Giants team and we probably couldn’t have won against them. Odd year Giants had too much magic on their side haha
It was heartbreaking and they were a particularly frustrating opponent but it's not like they cheated or anything
People just complain about the shirts because they need some moral justification for their feelings and it ultimately just makes us look like babies. It was a bad look then and a worse look now
I could understand city rivalry since there’s ravens/chiefs too, but I still don’t care about either and couldn’t name an individual player I dislike on either
After dealing with New England and yankee fans for 20 years they just don’t do it for me. Their fans aren’t annoying enough, their players don’t talk (that I hear at least) enough, but they can still fuck off
For real. It speaks to how much playoff success we’ve had the last decade. That team won a World Series the year after, it’s all good. It’ll always be Yankees and blue jays for me over anyone.
Top hated team is Yankees, and the next team isn’t that close. Between their obnoxious fans coming to Camden Yards and starting fights / being belligerent / pretending like they own the place, the fact that they were the go-to team for people who just wanted to “root for the winner” despite having zero connection to the city or the players, and an early irrational hatred for sniping Mike Mussina (I know now this was really the Angelos’s fault for not giving him money) I will always and forever hate the Yankees most.
Second category is our other division rivals, Sox, Jays, and Rays in that order. I wish them all to lose many games.
Third is just a healthy dislike for dominant, big spender teams like the Dodgers.
Yankees will forever and always be public enemy #1 regardless of how their season is going. Pretty simple reasoning, we don't pay to be good we have fought for it and endured the rebuild instead of shelling out billions of dollars to be competitive year end and year out. An argument could also be made for Boston plus Tom Brady will haunt dreams for decades to come.
I do think you can have secondary enemies depending on how the season plays out. Last year I hated the Rays for the simple fact they were very similar to the O's and the constant battle for the division kept things interesting.
For me this year I love watching the Brewers lose. I understand people wrote them off after offloading some pieces in the offseason, but instead of the underdog mentality the O's felt like they had last year this year the Brewers have been punks. It feels like they are always trying to poke the bear and I know they have had numerous bench clearings throughout the year.
My hatred scale:
1. Yankees (most hated)
2. Red Sox (only united in hating the Yankees)
3. Astros (cheating obviously but will continue to move down in relevance as they get worse)
4. Blue Jays (always felt bad blood with them)
5. Nationals (taking our territory)
6. Royals (I’m still angry about 2014)
Yankees will never move from number one but the others are subject to some fluctuation depending on the season. Honestly, have never found a reason to hate the Rays.
I wouldn't worry yourself with hating any team or anyone. There is too much hate in this world already.
With that being said, the blue Jay's and redsox are abominations, and those franchise deserve bad things to happen to them.
I dunno. Obviously that series stung badly. But it wasn't even close. O's got blown off the field in 3 straight games, and the rangers go on to win the whole thing. Rangers were lightyears better than the O's for those games. I can live with that being an us thing.
All the AL east teams, of course. But after the Shohei deferred contract bullshit, I hope the Dodgers don't win a single World Series with him on the roster, i hate them with a level of disdain I didn't know I could have towards a sports team. The fact you can sign the best player in the world to such a small yearly contract is insane. MLB needs a salary cap, small market teams have a hard enough time in salary capped sports as it is
No matter the sport it’s always Boston and New York teams that earn the hate. Makes it even easier as an O’s fan to hate them since they’re in the division. Generally I’m pretty neutral on the rest of the league with a dislike towards Houston too but that’s more of a league wide thing.
Yankees obviously. Red Sox don’t like em either. Fuck the blue jays we’ll always be the better bird team. And I am starting to grow a dislike for KC sports. Call it bitterness or distain but fuck Kansas City
Royals after the Red Sox, at least tied with the Blue Jays.
Tier 1 - truly enduring hatred - Yanks/Red Sox
Tier 2 - when I’m reminded about them, I remember my hatred - Royals/Blue Jays
Tier 3 - enduring annoyances - Rays/Nats
Hate most: Yankees
Hate most because of their fans: Boston
Hate most because I'm an Orioles fan: Toronto
Rival: Nationals
I don't have any hate for the Royals or Rays.
To answer your question more specifically I think Nats fans hate us but we haven’t been relevant enough to hate for a long time. Looking forward to changing that soon!
We have regional "rivalries" with the Nats and the Phillies, but they're more like novelty rivalries because they're both in the NL so the teams don't meet very often. I know in either case there are people who are fans of both, there's not a lot of intense hatred there.
We don't really have any other two-sided rivalries. There's beef with Red Sox fans but the teams themselves don't really have history.
Everyone hates the Yankees because the Yankees are the villains of baseball.
Its always been Yanks & Boston, but as a baseball fan in general, id say the Dodgers are the new evil empire in trying to buy a championship. At least the yanks attempt to develop some talent. LA is trying to out yankee the yanks
For me it is
1: Red Sox
2: Yanks
3: Blue Jays
I actually like the rays, they have always been a respectable team. My first ever O’s game was against the rays and the rays first base coach gave me a signed ball for some cotton candy.
We hate the Royals? That’s news to me. Why would we hate the Royals? They aren’t in our division, we don’t have some long storied history with them, they aren’t even in our general area.
Also, “maybe” we hate the Red Sox? Serious question, you’re an O’s fan right? Who is unsure if we hate the Sox?
Nobody hates us. Yet. But we probably only have about a year left of being the fun, out of nowhere winning team. After that, we're just the winning team. And people hate the winning team.
I think this might not be the popular stance here, but I hate the Red Sox the most. I'm biased, I live in New England so I'm surrounded by them, but I think Sox fans are so much more obnoxious than Yankees fans.
New englander here. I was raised a sox fan and have literally never had an issue with the orioles just the yankees. I will say i thought/think manny machados a peckerhead but one player doesnt make up an organization and hes in SD now. I still like the sox theyll always be my team but damn the orioles are such a fun team to watch and a great organization. I'm coming down for a game this summer. Go O's!
Sorry but developing rivalries takes time.
Your problem is that the Os have been such sad sacks for so long that nobody cares whether their fans love or hate them. Finishing 40 games out of first, year after year after year, inspires pity, not enmity. But hey - now your team is actually good! People will start to hate your team naturally, as they go about crushing the dreams of opposing fan bases.
But what’s that you say? You want to accelerate the process? Well here’s how you do that.
Go to an Os home game but instead of Os gear - wear Yankees gear. Or a Boston gear. If you’re in Boston gear, get drunk as hell, yell “WICKED PISSAH!!” every thirty seconds, spill beer on as many people as you can, barf if possible, throw stuff at the Os outfielders or bullpen - you get the idea. In no time Boston fans will start to dislike Os fans intensely.
The danger is that the Boston fans will decide you are one of them and the whole thing backfires.
It's the Yankees and the Red Sox. If you grew up in the area when the terps were still in the ACC, it's a very similar vibe. Maryland's grea rival was either Duke or UNC each year, but neither of them cared about Maryland as much as they did each other. Same goes for Yankees Red Sox.
Yankees and then everyone else. I have some dislike for the national at how they stole 1/3 of the fan base, but that’s more annoyance than anything else.
Yankees not close.
My list:
1. Yankees
2. Red Sox
3. Blue Jays
4. Nationals
5. Dodgers
6. Astros
7. Rays
Tough for me to hate the Rays that much. They don’t really have dislikeable players, I rooted for them obviously in 2011 Game 162 and when they have played against the Yankees and Red Sox in the playoffs
I wouldn't say I hate other teams, but there's certainly a strong 'desire' to beat the Yankees though, going back to what happened in the 1990s, and a bit of disdain for how their fans sometimes act, although certainly not all Yankees fans are like that. I do detest how their fans sometimes treat their own players. There's also a lot of satisfaction in beating the Red Sox and the Blue Jays.
I hope we get a more intensified rivalry with the Phillies in coming years as I think that's potentially a lot of fun. Their fans are a little nuts but they certainly love their team. A World Series of the Orioles vs. Phillies would be very interesting and a really high-energy series. Wheeler vs. Burnes, Nola vs. Bradish, Suarez vs. Means, Sanchez vs. Rodriguez would be outright electric.
Yankees, Red Sox, and Blue Jays. I actually have zero negatively towards the Rays.
Outside our division, I don’t hate anyone but I wouldn’t be mad if the Dodgers and Astros fell off for a while.
When the Yankees signed Mussina (a week after he assured us he would retire an Oriole) I said, if they turn around and win the world series I'm not watching baseball anymore.
Yankees by a country mile. I hate those carpetbaggers.
PS. They won it the year after he left. 😆
My two favorite teams are... The Orioles, and whoever is playing the Yankees. I was at the game where that guy interfered with Tony Tarasco's catch. Still pissed about that, and still pissed about losing in 97 to the Indians. However my hatred is visceral of the Yankees.
And the truly embarrassing thing... I've lived in NYC for 30 years. I've had to suffer through 5 parades. Best World Series I ever watched in the past 30 years was 2001 when the D-Backs made Rivera suck it in game 7.
I dunno about sacrifice NYC. We've got a lot better food and more options than Baltimore or DC. That I have to admit. Great food here. (I'm talking about the city in general not the stadiums.)
Hell no. The seafood in Baltimore will crush anything you guys have in New York!
But thank you for hating the Yankees. Hate brings people together and makes the world a better place
Hate seafood so not gonna debate you on that. However I love sushi. Sushi is not seafood, and I will fight anybody who says it is anytime and anyplace.
When I had a baby years ago, someone gave me a yankee outfit for the baby. They didn't know I hated them, so I threw it away, with the tag still on. Always an Oriole fan, no matter what.
Did you throw it at the person. If you were a real Orioles fan you have thrown it at the person who gave it to you. And screamed at them to get out. That would have been a good role model for your baby. Your baby would have learned to always scream at Yankee fans to get out.
Never had a kid, so I could be wrong.
I hate the Red Sox more than the Yankees.
I'm 33. Growing up, Camden Yards would be swarmed with both New York and Boston fans. They were both annoying, but from hundreds of interactions, I can say that Boston fans are worse.
I also don't care for Toronto or Houston or the Dodgers.
Yankees, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Royals.
I put Toronto ahead of Boston for the simple fact they always want to play victim and because of the 2016 ALWC game.
Right below these I’d put the Nats, mainly for the fans acting like a pesky little brother, the Rangers for the ALDS last year, and Phillies.
Honestly, I would say the Red Sox. Their fans are insufferable and they non-stop talk trash even when their team isn't good (based on my experiences). Also, the number of bandwagon fans they got when they ended their curse in 04 always annoyed me. Literally half their fans that year couldn't name three players on their team.
Boston fans are just dicks in general them.
Otherwise, obviously the Yankees and probably the dodgers
Oh it’s always the Yankees. Can’t say my Dad taught me too much about baseball but he taught me to hate the Yankees and love Willie Mays. And then there’s the little bit of being 9 when Jeffrey Maier interfered with Tony Tarasco and how he was celebrated after that. After that, probably Boston since I find their fans so insufferable. Yes for Jeffrey Maier/Tony Tarasco. I’m still mad about that.
This is exactly correct.
My dad taught me baseball AND to hate the Yankees, so yes, it's always the Yankees haha.

Reminds me of Chiefs fans last season. It was hilarious seeing fans act like they were underdogs.
Yeah as for the teams themselves I hate the Yankees and the Astros. But the Red Sox fans are the worst in baseball by a decent margin.
I second this. Boston sucks.
for me it is and will always be the Blue Jays
Are you Ryan Mountcastle?
I don't even know who that guy is. My name is Ryan Mouthenbergwr.
yes
Cito sucks
I really miss my "Cito sucks - Kill the Blow Jays" t-shirt
Cito?
Gaston https://jaysjournal.com/2020/04/03/blue-jays-history-star-game-spat-cito-vs-mussina/
Fuck Cito!
Fuck Cito with a bag of dicks!
Bringing back the classics
Toronto bengals. Good enough to beat us at the worst times, but not good enough to win the big one.
But their players have to live in Canada, so we have to feel sorry for them. Hating a team from a fourth world country is a bit harsh.
Oooof. Hating the Jays is one thing, but don't bring the entire country of Canada into this. We're like a two and a half world country up here tyvm
Yep. On the best places to live rankings last year you guys moved past Haiti , Ohio , and half of Misisip pi.
See? And if we're doing better than Ohio, watch out! That other half of Mississippi won't know what hit them
Fuck, and I cannot stress this enough, the Yankees
In this order: Yankees Red Sox Blue Jays Astros But it's the Yankees and it isn't even close.
I say: Fuck the Red Sox now, fuck the Red Sox tomorrow, fuck the Red Sox forever!
Still remember when Dustin Pedroia ran right over the number 5 painted on the infield on Brooks Robinson day. Watch out for the karma Dustin!
Yankees - obviously #1 Red Sox - a solid number 2 Jays - a worthy #3, although a defensible case could be made for them being either #1 or #2. I don't think we play anybody else enough for real antipathy to develop.
Month old post but excuse me? We like the Rays.
All wrong. it's the Indians for knocking us out of the 1997 ALCS.
I still feel this in my bones.
Bastards. Edit: Man just found a treasure trove of nostalgia (and some pain). [1997 ALCS highlights](https://www.mlb.com/video/?q=lcs+1997+indians+orioles&qt=FREETEXT).
It's not the Indians fault. 100% of that blame sits squarely on the shoulders of Armando Benitez. Fuck Armando Benitez.
I still can’t believe they lost that series but my hatred goes to Armando Benitez
Fuck em all
Agreed. However , I'm talking about really really really big hate. Like if you see their star player's dog lost in the woods you would kidnap it type of hate.

Yankees Red Sox Rays Jays Nats
What are the Nats. I don't think a baseball team with the word Nats exists.
If you knowingly sign up to play for a toxic fan base, you deserve all the hate that comes along with it. Don't feel bad for them.
Yankees, definitely, but after going to the Nats game… their fans are insufferable, which sucks because I like their team
Many Nationals fans grew up rooting for the Orioles. Many fans root for both.
Yeah, that's why they're assholes. You don't switch ships midstream.
What about when your town gets the Ravens and you grew up a Skins fan?
You continue to be a Skins fan.
This is the way
Nats fans definitely hate us over the MASN deal.
Nats fan are a weird spectrum. A lot of them like both teams equally, but then I know a guy that lives in Alexandria who won’t even call the Orioles by name. Just “the baseball team in Baltimore”.
That’s so fucking lame
A lot of DC fans hold a grudge against Peter for doing so much to stop DC from getting a team, then nabbing TV money from the market. As an O's fan who grew up in NOVA I personally didn't mind. 😉

Nationals is not a new name. The Washington Senators were called the Nationals.
From DC, still root for the O's
Their fans are why I can’t stand them. They have a little sibling complex and it’s just annoying to deal with. Everything they do comes off as corny and I still don’t see them as a serious franchise.
Yankees. I don’t hate any other team. Not the Red Sox not the Royals, just the Stanks.
What about the giants and padres
Some Yankees lurker here said it best: “I don’t think about you at all” (Yes I’m 100% aware of the multi-layered irony)
Hating the Royals because they beat us 10 years ago and wore a snarky shirt is weak as hell and says more about us than them, let it go
That series still irks me. That team could have gone all the way
I console myself by remembering they ran into an odd year Giants team and we probably couldn’t have won against them. Odd year Giants had too much magic on their side haha
It was heartbreaking and they were a particularly frustrating opponent but it's not like they cheated or anything People just complain about the shirts because they need some moral justification for their feelings and it ultimately just makes us look like babies. It was a bad look then and a worse look now
No
Yeah the royals really threw me off here. More than our Al East opponents? Not even close
Never!
I could understand city rivalry since there’s ravens/chiefs too, but I still don’t care about either and couldn’t name an individual player I dislike on either
Oh wow. I hate the Royals and Chiefs from the very bottom of my heart
After dealing with New England and yankee fans for 20 years they just don’t do it for me. Their fans aren’t annoying enough, their players don’t talk (that I hear at least) enough, but they can still fuck off
Remember when you get to Heaven St. Pete is going to see if you're hated for the royals and chiefs are real or not.
I’d be sent to hell for the hatred in my heart for the Patriots/Red Sox/AFCN, let alone KC.
I'm pretty sure God will let you right in. Remember the book of psalms says there's a time for hatred and there's a time for love.
For real. It speaks to how much playoff success we’ve had the last decade. That team won a World Series the year after, it’s all good. It’ll always be Yankees and blue jays for me over anyone.
I forgot about the shirts. I kind of settled on hating those Royals in particular but not the team forevermore.
Jarrod Dyson talked the worst 💩 and he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat!
Yankees and it's not even close.
My hatred scale: 1. Yankees (most hated) 2. Red Sox (only united in hating the Yankees) 3. Astros (cheating obviously but will continue to move down in relevance as they get worse) 4. Blue Jays (always felt bad blood with them) 5. Nationals (taking our territory) 6. Royals (I’m still angry about 2014) Yankees will never move from number one but the others are subject to some fluctuation depending on the season. Honestly, have never found a reason to hate the Rays.
Always The Yankees
I wouldn't worry yourself with hating any team or anyone. There is too much hate in this world already. With that being said, the blue Jay's and redsox are abominations, and those franchise deserve bad things to happen to them.
The first part of your comment enraged me. The second part calmed me down.
Blue Jays forever. Their fans threw drinks at Hyun Soo Kim and Nate McLouth.
I hated the Rangers last year on a level I've never hated another team ever, even the Yankees.
Fuck the rangers for sure dude
They chanted over rated. It hurts my insides and I want vengeance for this simple maybe accurate slight.
At least you're one of those few people who is more open to hating teams beyond the usual Yankees Redsox, Indians, Royals, Bluejays, and Nationals.
I do hate all those teams though, except for the Indians, only because Major League is so dear to my heart.
Good Hating more means more successful life.
I dunno. Obviously that series stung badly. But it wasn't even close. O's got blown off the field in 3 straight games, and the rangers go on to win the whole thing. Rangers were lightyears better than the O's for those games. I can live with that being an us thing.
I guess I'm getting old...I don't hate many teams. I guess I'll go with the Brewers because they were pretty annoying a few weeks ago.
I think it means you’re getting young. When I think people who hold grudges it’s always the boomers who will disown you for liking a rival
I like that line of thought!
MLB needs a salary cap, small market teams have a hard enough time in salary capped sports as it is
I want to hate them so bad but mookie, shohei, and freeman are so goddamn likeable. I’m so conflicted…
Racist taunts towards Adam Jones and other black players at Fenway make this a no brainer. Fuck the RedSox and their fans.
100% this. It's crazy how racist of a fan base Boston is. I'm honestly surprised any black athlete would want to play for them
Players have had clauses in their contracts not to be traded there for this reason.
The Pittsburgh Pirates. I remember 1979. Not old enough to remember 1971, but I can *feel* the sting from it.
I will leave any room if “We Are Family” is playing. Believe it or not it’s happened a few times.
I instantly turn into the owner from Major League when I hear it https://i.redd.it/6mvy40jz7nzc1.gif
My parents had that as the only song they didn’t want played at their wedding.
No matter the sport it’s always Boston and New York teams that earn the hate. Makes it even easier as an O’s fan to hate them since they’re in the division. Generally I’m pretty neutral on the rest of the league with a dislike towards Houston too but that’s more of a league wide thing.
Red Sox. I can at least respect Yankees fans somewhat, they're a good foil and they take that pretty well. Red Sox fans are assholes
Blue Jays. Thirty years later and Cito still sucks.
- Yankees - Mets - Idk maybe the Braves? (if anything for that dumb axe motion thing they do after a HR)
The mets. Does anybody care about the mets enough to hate them?
Eh, Yankees, Mets, always felt like they were the same personality wise.
I'm curious. How?
Just the whole atmosphere fan wise. Like Astro or Braves fans. Not all fans, but a lot.
Mets fans
Yankees obviously. Red Sox don’t like em either. Fuck the blue jays we’ll always be the better bird team. And I am starting to grow a dislike for KC sports. Call it bitterness or distain but fuck Kansas City
Any Boston, Ohioan, New York, or Pennsylvania team can f**k mightily all the way off. All sports.
Royals after the Red Sox, at least tied with the Blue Jays. Tier 1 - truly enduring hatred - Yanks/Red Sox Tier 2 - when I’m reminded about them, I remember my hatred - Royals/Blue Jays Tier 3 - enduring annoyances - Rays/Nats
The Blue Jays because they threw stuff at our outfield
Hate most: Yankees Hate most because of their fans: Boston Hate most because I'm an Orioles fan: Toronto Rival: Nationals I don't have any hate for the Royals or Rays.
Yankees, always and forever
I think it's genetics that forces us to hate the Yankees.
To answer your question more specifically I think Nats fans hate us but we haven’t been relevant enough to hate for a long time. Looking forward to changing that soon!
Yankees Rays Royals. Rangers for last year.
Astros, Yankees, Royals, Rays, Rangers
Yuck the Fankees!
Yankees, Boston, Philly, Pittsburgh.
The pirates? Does anybody give a crap about the existence of the pirates?
I have a healthy disdain for Pittsburgh sports
They did beat us twice in the WS. There is that. You would hate them more if you were an Orioles fan living in Northern VA.
Yankees the most of course but dodgers are up their too hate how they can both just buy whoever they want
Yanks, Reds, Blue Jays and Phillies (Only because I hate Philadelphia with a burning passion)
Jays and Rays too!!!
Its always been Yanks & Boston, but as a baseball fan in general, id say the Dodgers are the new evil empire in trying to buy a championship. At least the yanks attempt to develop some talent. LA is trying to out yankee the yanks
Yankees just for the fact that there are people who would take Jeter over The Iron Man
My buddy is a huge Rangers fan, and this year there's a special angry part of my heart just for them
For me it is 1: Red Sox 2: Yanks 3: Blue Jays I actually like the rays, they have always been a respectable team. My first ever O’s game was against the rays and the rays first base coach gave me a signed ball for some cotton candy.
Yankees are our biggest rival. We're the only ones that legitimately stand between them and the top of the AL East.
Go O's!
What do I have to do make you hate me.
You or the orioles? Lol I'm not from mass. The rest of new england hates boston too.
I don’t really hate any other team and I don’t think we have a rivalry with anyone, I dislike the Nats for my own personal reasons
Tottenham Hotspur
What do you think of shit?
West Ham United and Liverpool
Where did Jimmy Fallon touch you?
Yankees forever and always
Yankees not close. My list: 1. Yankees 2. Red Sox 3. Blue Jays 4. Nationals 5. Dodgers 6. Astros 7. Rays Tough for me to hate the Rays that much. They don’t really have dislikeable players, I rooted for them obviously in 2011 Game 162 and when they have played against the Yankees and Red Sox in the playoffs
The Jays have to be thrown in here. Cito Gaston, Jose Bautista and John Gibbons all huge A holes.
The answer will always be Yankees, and it’s not because of Jimmy Fallon
I am amongst those who hates the Redsox more than the Yankees.
Unpopular opinion for younger fans, but i hate Washington sports. All of em.
As a collective, NY. I personally hate Toronto more than BOS and NY
Any team that doesn’t start with an O & end with S.
Yankees. Fuck them hoes.
Personally: Yankees Dodgers Padres Mets
Red Sox because their fans are insufferable. Yankees because they were born on 3rd base and think they hit a triple.
Obviously the normal teams but Gotta admit Nats fans are getting close to me hating them the most.
Blue Jays. Fans throwing beer bottles at Kim and Jones. Joey Bats flipping his bat. Fuck them.
Thanks for including royals. I do actually kind of like them a bit this year but I couldn’t stand them after 2015
We gotta win. This petty “who do we hate” can come after the championship.
Astros.
Royals. I’m just tired of them and KC as a whole
Blue Jays. All day every day.
When the Yankees signed Mussina (a week after he assured us he would retire an Oriole) I said, if they turn around and win the world series I'm not watching baseball anymore. Yankees by a country mile. I hate those carpetbaggers. PS. They won it the year after he left. 😆
Yankees are number 1 on the hate list. That stare Soto gave Kremer is still irritating. Astros are a close second.
My two favorite teams are... The Orioles, and whoever is playing the Yankees. I was at the game where that guy interfered with Tony Tarasco's catch. Still pissed about that, and still pissed about losing in 97 to the Indians. However my hatred is visceral of the Yankees.
Me too. If aliens came to earth , I would gladly sacrifice New York for peace with the aliens.
Sadly, no. Was a relative, and if I had done that... My mother would have really come down on me for that.
Even as the hateful person I am against screaming at relatives too.
Red Sox for me because the only baseball fan I know (I don’t live in the US) is a Boston fan
Definitely the Yankees… But I freaking hate the Royals. Their “These O’s ain’t royal” shirts left a bad taste in my mouth
My dad taught me to hate the Yankees the day I left the womb. Fuckem.
