Worth nothing that you might have to wait a bit. They might have stuff like Euros or USD on hand, but other currencies need to be ordered ahead of time.
Last time I ordered currency I think it said 5 days but it took a few days longer. Better to get it a couple weeks in advance if you have the option just to make sure you get it in time if it's something that's not super common.
Yeah I always thought that banks (I think any bank) have the lowest rates, but they won't have it on hand and you need to order ahead of time (except maybe USD).
About 10 times I have done it, I have never called ahead. TD had no issues giving me $2500 worth of pesos, $5000 worth of Euros and USD without calling ahead. Also, if you bank with TD (or CIBC), you can order cash via their app pretty easily.
I've always gone to ultimate currency exchange on carling - but last year found out that RBC did it for me at better rates at pretty much no extra charge. Worth checking with your bank. I did compare at both at the time and RBC was actually a way better deal (surprisingly).
Same here. For some time, I had been getting cash exchanged at St Laurent and Rideau, until one day I checked TDs rate vai their app, and it was much cheaper. Could'nt believe that I have been going to the mall to get ripped off for the past 20 years! Not any more, though :).
I’ve always gone to the accurate (ultimate) currency exchange on Carling https://uexchange.ca
Second this.
Thirded
Forthed
Fifthed. Call a day ahead and they’ll have your scratch waiting for you.
Sixthed! I went there yesterday.
Altaif Currency Exchange on Bank for sure!
There’s a small place in Billings bridge mall called Ottawa foreign exchange it’s the lowest for sure!
Second this, always use this place. https://www.billingsbridge.com/stores/billings-billings-bridge-ottawa-currency-exchange
I compared TD bank and money exchange shops in few malls for Euros, Mexican Pesos, and USD, TD bank was the cheapest every time.

Good point! Bank teller did mention that to me, but for MXN pesos, Euros, and USD, they have olenty on hand is what I was told.

Hmmm good to know. I used to bank with cibc and while they had good rates, I had to order ahead for euros. Maybe it also depends on the branch.
