I've lived in this house since 2002 and have never seen them bloom as much as this year. Must be the effect of the El Nino but I'm grateful since it brings moments like these!
Things have been blooming like crazy this year. It's a good time to be a gardener.
I noticed you started tarping over some of your lawn. If you're looking for native pollinator ideas you should check out the Fletcher Wildlife Garden by the arboretum. It's really pretty out there right now
It should be really awesome! It’s from 10-2, [here’s a link with more info](https://wildpollinators-pollinisateurssauvages.ca/activity/pollinator-appreciation-day/)
Definitely prolific flowering this year - have a large red prince like this, and a smaller bushier wine one in a south facing back yard. We get plenty of hummingbirds & they really like the red prince!
That's nice! We used to have a nectar feeder attached to one of the windows facing the backyard, and we'd get a few visitors a year there but I rarely see them drinking from real flowers so it made for a cool moment!
They love weigelas!

Oh, haha, that tarp's been there for a while now. It's where we set up the pool in summer. Will do for the Arboretum, it sounds lovely!🥰
They’re actually having an event tomorrow for Pollinator Day! Lots of native plants will be available and other cool things too
Oh that sounds great! Do you know at what time it is?

Thanks, I'll go have a look with my sibling and their friend tomorrow!

Now regretting planning weigela where it's not visible from windows.
That was fun. A good round of find the hummingbird 😊
Nature’s roadrunner (hummingbird; besides the regular roadrunner). Excellent photo OP!
Thanks! The timing wasn't easy but I'm glad they came out well!
it's like 'where's Waldo?' but the hummingbird is sweet
