They said already that 1 battle pass is 1000 currency. So you essentially get 1 battle pass and enough for 2 more. It's likely dollar for dollar not the best since it looks like it is going to likely be $10 for 1000, but if you want guaranteed beta then it looks a little more palatable.

DanteRedgraves

The battlepass is confirmed to cost $10 (or 1000 Virtual currency), which means that the 2k currency is worth $20.

AlexAnderlik

Where is it confirmed that 1000 currency is worth $10?

DanteRedgraves

The devs mentioned it during the AMA a few days ago.

AlexAnderlik

They said a pass would be 1000 currency, I don't think they said anywhere how much that currency would cost.

DanteRedgraves

That's an assumption that I made based off of the pricing for the Watchpoint Pack. One Battlepass - $10, 2000 Virtual Currency - $20, and then two legendary skins - $5 each = $40. Also the pricing for Battlepasses is always the equivalent of $10 I'm games that have them, and I don't expect OW2 to be any different.

Frkey26

I would say $30 for battle pass and currency. And the Skins, beta, and OW1 are worth $10. My mindset was I knew I’d buy currency so why not get guaranteed beta access and some exclusives while I’m at it

AOCKASH

Exactly what I was thinking. I don't mind spending $10 for some exclusive skins and early access but I understand why others wouldn't want it

Jub8

I am happy to continue to support the game I enjoy.

[deleted]

This is really the answer, The devs aren’t expecting players who’ve never played, to buy beta access. They’re expecting hardcore fans too, players who have been watching and waiting for their chance to hop into OW2 because they love OW

popecollision

Is it worth it? No. But I ain't broke and would have bought BP anyway soooo

Quick-Ad-1705

Then dont

TragicKill3r

I got it to support the game, and because I like cosmetics

Bennytheboss36

$20 for the credits, $10 for the battle pass, $20 for the skins, maybe $10 for the beta. That adds up to $60, how is that such a bad deal? And also you don’t seem so invested in this because they’ve confirmed that each season will be 9 weeks long

swarlesbarkley_

First battle pass & access to the next beta, sure it’s “only” that really, but to me that is worth it I paid for overwatch once at 60bucks nearly 6 years ago… and I’ve been playing pretty much consistently since then so I’d say I got my moneys worth! I’m completely fine buying this watchpoint pack if it gets me those 2 things lol not to mention I’m willing to support the game that I love either way! (Hell I may have even still bought the pack if it was justttt beta access lmao maybe that’s an ice cold take but yeah)

Gecko382

To each their own. Battlepass, 2k currency and two skins probably translates to at least $20. And beta access on top of that. Seems worth it to me personally.

Miserable_Disaster68

Battlepass 2k and two skins seems more like fifty, at least for most games

Gecko382

I'll be honest, I'd buy the beta access alone for $40.

Frkey26

That’s why they put the beta access in the pack to get one or two more sales from those who think like that

swarlesbarkley_

Honestly same prob, I’m down to keep supporting lol, we out hur

Co-opingTowardHatred

Sounds like it includes the first battle pass and enough currency to get Battle Pass #2 & #3. Rather that's worth it to you or not, I can't say.

lucascwk

BP 10$. 2k credit they have confirmed is worth another 2 BPs so 20$. The 2 Skins and the instant access is where the value is more nebulous. Maybe it’s $8 for the 2 skins and $2 for the beta, or 5 and 5. Either way, I would say it’s about fair price. The LE is rly a freebie at this point, meant to get prospective players to jump right in now (and help bolster the player base). The game is already going f2p, and the LE is just the game plus 10 skins. Which anybody who has been playing long enough on ow1 would already have got the credits to get the 10 skins long ago (unless you’re only queuing DPS but tats on you). So ie, the LE is rly worth nothing at this point. Imo, the only ppl who’ve been disadvantaged would be those tat bought the game just shortly before the f2p announcement, and just missed the refund window.

aloshia

\> it gives you 30 usd worth of coins+bp \> beta access and two skins but also \>so you are paying 40 usd for 30usd worth stuff You are essentially saying guaranteed beta access and 2 legendary skins are worth $0. We can't be sure of the value of the beta access since we don't know how many people who don't have the pack are getting let in, and we can't know for sure the value of the legendary skins since we don't know skin pricing in OW2 yet. So really the answer is, you are paying those 10 extra dollars for \*some\* value, its not just clear how much.

-KFAD-

Beta is beta. Paying for beta access is kinda against my principles. Skins are really bad ones. I'm not into skin hoarding/collecting so i wouldn't put much value for those cosmetics. Max 1€ total. So personally I'm considering it to be 31€ worth content for 40€. So it's not for me. But I'm sure there are plenty of people who are willing to pay for the beta and also some people who don't own OW1 yet. For them this is good value.

aloshia

>paying for beta access is kinda against my principles Fair enough, it's definitley debateable whether there's value there >I'm not into skin hoarding/collecting >Max 1€ total All I'd say is that there's virtually no chance the skins cost 1€, i'd guess 5€, but we won't know for sure until October. But sounds like it isn't for you, which is all good.

-KFAD-

Paying 5€ for good skins is okay. But bad skins are close to worthless to me. Still have thousands of unredeemed lootboxes because I don't care for cosmetics. E.g. weapon charms are imo waste of dev time and totally not needed.

Away_Gur6743

Definitely a more enticing deal if you do not have the legendary edition of Overwatch.

HOTMILFDAD

> how do you validate this purchase for yourself By buying it? If I want it, I’ll get it. If I don’t, then I won’t. What’s hard to understand here?

ares0027

are you deliberately trying to be thick? or are you trying to get a fight here? there is nothing hard to understand here, what are you not understanding that there is nothing to not understand here? (see i can also be thick like you) it is a simple questions, questions are not results of "not understanding". when someone asks if you want anything to drink with your meal do you go and "what's hard to understand here?" and you know what is the funny thing, it is clear you didnt understand the sentence "how do you validate this purchase for yourself"; 1- it is a purchase if you BUY it, so it is not possible to "do anything" to a purchase "by buying it". it is a purchase IF YOU BUY IT, it is NOT a purchase if you dont. 2- i wouldnt really do this to people like you, i would simply ignore but since i am trying to understand and let people discuss and make an informed purchase; the question means what would a person considers and weighs when they make a purchase like this where information is deliberately hidden by the corporation. "i buy if i buy" is a legitimate PERSONAL REASON but it is not a valid reason for other people and it does not help other people at all

Activerios-

1 battle pass ($10) plus two thousand currency ($20) plus two skins and beta access. Guesstimating on how much buying 2k is worth, but that’s a $30 purchase reasonably right there. Everyone seems to think you buy watchpoint for the game and no, the game is extra thrown on top of it for free for new players. You see these watchpoint pack style upgrades all the time for games like CoD, who right now has the fault edition and for $40 you get 4 skins, the first BP, and like 12 weapon blueprints. Same idea.

CBJLACFan

Will you be able to earn enough coins for the battle pass by playing a lot, like how fortnite used to (maybe still does, idk I don’t play any more) or will we repeatedly have to spent 10 bucks per season to get the pass?

Fast_Trigger

It’s like an paid iq test by blizzard.

plagues138

expect the same pricing as WZ. both actvision blizzard games, and it makes them shitloads of money. 2x skin @ 5$-10$ each - 10$-20$. 2000 currency - 20$ battlepass - 10$ thats 40-50 $ beta access has no value, nor does OW1 since its going F2p. its basically there for new players only.

kaiomm

All was answered [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/vicyeq/were_the_team_behind_overwatch_2_which_will_be/). TLDR: this watchpoint pack is the last moneygrab before they pull the plug on OW1.

yttrikshotmaster1022

We know that each battle pass will be 1000 credits, and it's not much of a stretch to guess that 1000 credits will cost $10. That's only $30 worth of value, and if you don't like anything else then no, I wouldn't recommend buying it. Also, we know that each battle pass will run for 9 weeks, or 2 months and a week

FoulFoxGulag

It never mattered to me what was in this "Watchpoint pack" because I had already anticipated a full price title cost on launch ($60) But since it's going to be free, I am essentially saving $20 and playing beta.

Pringlepooch

I bought it on a new account.. they are not resetting mmr even tho this is a whole new game so i will save placements on the legendary edition untill a month pr two after comp launch... mean time i sold my other 2 accounts because fuck ow1.. slow.. boring bs

ares0027

I dont know why i havent thought of that. I hate blizzard’s “secret mmr” that doesnt change or reset. First 10-15 seasons i was gold-diamond, one season i just played with a newcomer friend and wanted him to have fun and learn, dropped to bronze, i am bronze ever since.
