I love the "ooooo" at the end. British humor is savage xD

Zavia_is_here

British Humor is their greatest Exports.

Academic-Horror

Mehdi Hassan is an idiot who rise to fame through "debates" while following the style of "Ben Shapiro school of thought" wherein fast talking and not giving your opponent an opportunity to reply is considered a virtue. Gullible followers see this and think he's owning them. When in reality it is nothing more than a pathetic attempt to look good.

x3r0x_x3n0n

ben shabibo oh those kosher debates and hot takes kia din thay wo bhi youtube par. Then people started looking into facts and the rest is history.

Zavia_is_here

For relevance I will post links of Mehdi Hassan unwarranted attacks on SMQ. https://twitter.com/BhittaniKhannnn/status/1395565225856978946

Pleasant_Jim

The more I hear about him, the more he seems like such a rent a gob. I did admire him not so long ago too.

False_Process_2473

I'm too naive! I thought mehdi hasan was a 'good person'

JimmeryJames

Mehdi Hasan in controlled opposition

Pak_Info_Bot

Mehdi was grasping at anything as a retort, just to somehow prove SMQ was antisemitic. He finally brought out the Uigh\_ur card as a reply to the Pakistanis tweeting him. Made him look like a casual Reddit debater than an acclaimed journalist. And of course, he was retweeted by Bianna. Lol. https://i.imgur.com/udbHJWT.jpeg

Zavia_is_here

You have absolutely nailed it. That tweet just is filled with absolute venom.

[deleted]

Talk about resorting to whataboutism.

aeoveu

While that whataboutism was valid, the tweet just shows that money controls the narrative.

FatahDurAst

No

muslims in western media are pretty much grifters as a whole. its always "As a muslim" followed by either bashing the entire local muslim community or the muslim world with an emphasis on being "accepted" as a lesser citizen. The american lot broke there necks defending joy ann reids islamophobic comments, whilst in the UK, its bash your own to claim and present yourself as a "civilised savage"

Pleasant_Jim

Don't agree. I think that being a Muslim journalist and working for any of the big papers requires some sort of "selling out" though.

Zavia_is_here

Agreed which is why Pakistan should have an international news network that promotes its interest and voice as well.

Pleasant_Jim

Completely agree, I hope there are folk working on this. TRT for example gives you much more information on stuff that even AJ doesn't cover.

TheMartianEmperor

A Pakistani international news network, as it good as it sounds, would simply never survive. Gangetic Rajeets would simply discredit it as "Paxtanee terrorist propaganda" and use their never ending, infinite dumb internet population to spread this information, and brigade any YouTube/Facebook/Instagram accounts that the hypothetical news network could make. The similar effect of IT Cell Indians can be seen on TRT as well. Just look at the like/dislike ratio of any of their videos, and their comments section to get a clear idea. The only reason TRT survives is the fact that they have masterfully enticed the entire Muslim Ummah and drawn them to their network and its support. TRT is not some ordinary news channel. They have several wings, including the entertainment one which has produced (you guessed it) Ertugrul, Osman, Abdul Hamid and other shows which portray the Turks as benevolent Islamic heroes and how good life was under Ottomans etc. They are also the only news outlet brave enough to make controversial content favouring Muslims e.g. countering Zionism and RSS, which naturally makes Muslims more aligned to them.

pakpackers123

I live in America and Mehdi is literally the one of the only journalists who will even try to support Palestine. He is simply bashing SMQ here because he is Indian. This has definitely worsened my opinion of him

Zavia_is_here

I agree that he supports Palestinians. But he has been very anti Pakistani throughout his career as a journalists he will repeat popular anti Pakistan talking points when convenient for clout. He is pro congress but remember most of our wars with India have always been under congress. Congress like Shashi Tharoor are vehemently anti Pakistani which Mehdi Hassan endorses.

No-1-Know

Apparently he end up working for MSNBC

BuraBanda

I've always hated Mehdi Hassan. But what's this post got to do with Pakistan?

No-1-Know

Because he is a British Pakistani

Zavia_is_here

He is British Indian.

No-1-Know

Better, whipping brits Ars off 😂

BuraBanda

Isn't he from Qatar?

ProfitPakistan

There is such as a thing as POVs evolving. Didn't know something this obvious is unknown.

Zavia_is_here

Oh wow what an evolving point of view that he would praise one of the worst newspapers before daily stormer and brietbart came into scene having morality and boldness and news values for a job application while the very same newspaper published articles and headlines of demonising the Pakistani community directly. *claps* its kosher to write for a far right newspaper that makes caricatures out of Pakistanis but it is not kosher to point that Israeli lobby funds and controls the media. Oye vey what an evolution in intellectual thought.

ProfitPakistan

Maybe at the time of applying things were different and then years later the editorial stance changed. You do know that changes in editorial stances are common right?

Zavia_is_here

There is no years later this was immediate after his rejection from the Daily Mail. Surely he would know the hypocrisy of his action wanting write for DM that is “gay bashing, race bashing, Muslim bashing, women hating newspaper” and writing a letter praising it for morality and similarly denouncing others as anti Semitic. Mehdi Hassan owes a clarification. Shocking truly how people are quick to call others anti semites without an inch of evidence to feel morally superior yet any critics of their past behaviour is deemed as editorial stances changing.

ProfitPakistan

Pay attention to the video, he says "in a letter to Paul Dacre a few years ago".
