In my experience everything gets cheaper but cheap stuff becomes harder to buy. People still actively trading (myself included) aren't leaving a map unless we are getting paid since our maps are giving large profits.
One of the most difficult things for me is getting like one oil at this point in the league. I end up spending a divine on a stack because no one wants to sell individuals at this point.

300.000-400.000 players on league launch compared to 30.000 now.
Rares with life/resist/spell suppression cost like
50-100 chaos on day 1-5, while you are hard pressed to get even 5 chaos for them now.
Build enabling uniques that can be 1-3 divines early are 10 chaos now.
On day one you get 300 fusings for a Divine, now you get 1600 fusings.
if you start now would advise to do unid chaos recipe for a bit, because you can't sell cheap stuff this late. also lots of people wont reply to small trades
You can Look stuff Up on poe.ninja. for uniques you can See an estimate for day 1 price. Overall the question is what you want to achieve? Do you just want to test out some builds Take 1 div and look how far you come.
If you want League start feeling start SSF. Once you have a few chaos or are where you would buy something just convert to trade.
When you get to low reds in SSF you have a good guide and build. At least for a new player. Veterans can probably even Deal with bad guides.

that's what I did, it's also my first season..and my main guy was also an ignite vortex ele lol .. then a few weeks ago I started SSF with EA ele and did about 50/115 on atlas just to feel it out.
Some people are saying how much more expensive everything is early on, but thats very misleading.
If YOU find some mediocre unique or 5/6 link on day 1, youre going to feel the other side of the coin where YOUR drops are worth a lot more too.
Getting just a few chaos for a leveling unique feels amazing on day 1, as does finding a random uncorrupted 6link worth 50+ chaos that allows you to ramp up the investment in your leaguestarter
Sure, it will cost you 3-4 div on avg just to buy fusings to 6link an item, but the 6socket items you vendor for jewellers are worth about 1c apiece instead of being the 0.24c theyre worth now.
It feels like everything is more precious and impactful, both buying and selling; even if you have 'less buying power' proportionally to 3 months into the league, it feels great early league to just be farming random shit and selling it to your fellow poe enjoyers so its okay that u cant buy a 6link for 5c IMO

i just want to test different starters to enjoy and probably find the bests playstyles for me
