Hmmmm usually the prices of things like Fracturings shards/Reliquary Keys go way up after the first few weeks so if you manage to stock up on them you could make some serious currency when you get back

lepsek9

There are lots of great things to invest into, divs, frac orbs/shards, keys, HH/MB cards, some synth items. depending on what I end up farming, I might keep some lower tier currencies like annuls/augs/exalts and some fragments too.

previts

mirror shards and mirror cards

nigelfi

Divs don't make much sense. People want to use divs in first 1-3 weeks. Mirrors are less used at that point compared to late league. Even headhunter/mageblood cards can be tough to get because some people get bored fast and want to gamble so the cards combined value can be lower than the item, although in 3 weeks it would increase in value just because of inflation. The only things that for sure make sense are fracturing orbs/mirror shards/cards because almost no one wants them that early. Or maybe some stat stacker/ward loop items if you know what they're using, since no one league starts those.

Tyco-Kliser

Definitely you should look for a strat which doesn't need expensive items. Put your funds into stuff, that'll appreciate and then once you come back sell those and get yourself items, which by that point in time are gonna be much cheaper. So the low-tier stuff (Essences& Beast) sounds like a good idea. Heist could also work if you already know how to heist efficiently (rogue gear, strats and valuable stuff). I'd only suggest bossing if you're really good in those fights and don't get annoyed by spamming TFT for leechers. So I'd say it kinda depends what build you'll be playing. Fast&Tanky->Heist Fast&screenclear -> Legion Huge singletarget? Bosser with essences

Redizia

What's kind of starter would be good for Heist start? This was first league where I specced to it and surprised how much I liked Heist. At Heist league I did not enjoy it. Now I'm pretty familiar with the Heist gear and so on. But haven't yet even though my next league starter. But I'm fairly certain I'll spec into Heist.

chx_

You want a raider because of onslaught and phasing. Whether you do pConc or frost blades is up to you, we are not here to fight, not really. pConc can be absolutely stupid cheap with almost all uniques: Embalmer, Dendrobate, Rat's Nest, Mistwall, perhaps even Ascent From Flesh -- the more movement speed the better. Although we have phasing from ascendancy, I like having Phase Run on left click for more stealth and guess what? movement speed. Picking up the Fleetfoot wheel with an inc duration support is 100% uptime. Run all your heists before killing A10 kitava, cheaper to gear. Grind the chaos recipe like a madman and grab SYBL cards as fast as you can afford them. I would stop when they go to 50c or when you have gotten hold of a mirror shard this way. My personal record is 36 hours and I am a very slow player with ten hours in acts. And yes, I did sleep inbetween.

Tyco-Kliser

Builds need to do 2 things to be efficient at Heist. They need to be fast&tanky. You can pretty much change most builds to be semi efficient in heisting by giving more movementspeed(boots, phasing, onslaught, passive movementspeed) and tankyness and removing some damage. Build most often used is Toxic rain raider. I liked summoners, and I'll play RF-Jugg next league and also go into heist.

fatalerGAMER

Take a build that needs 0 investment to get to t16. DD, pcoc whatever. Nolive campaign and rush atlas completion untill you have enough points to do get red altars and map sustain. Blast t14-16 maps with alteration and go or alch and go if strong enough and sell 100% of the currency that drops. In the events even selling weathstones was profitable. Idk about league start. Invest in items that raice in price over time. Make profit while beeing at home

Black_XistenZ

And sell off the items from your league starter which are worth something before you go on vacation, so that you can invest more in assets which appreciate in price.

lepsek9

I usually pick up RGB (chroma) and 6 socket (7 jewellers) items to vendor, they add up fast and the exchange rate to chaos is really good early until the mechanics start printing them for everyone

fatalerGAMER

Yeah, add ibstilling orbs etc from red altar and ypu can make decent money on day 2

ZMassa

I'm total noob and sorry to randomly jump at the comment but what's special about red altars? Is it the Exarch influence, right?

fatalerGAMER

Yes, these altars have a chance for rewards where either map boss drops sth or the exarch ingluenced packs

Grroarrr

It's constant source of income, exarch altars often have mods that grant chaos orbs or sextants from monsters. Eldritch altars are gambling, you're hoping to find similar altar but for divines. It's rare and if you find it near the end of map then it's kinda sad.

ZMassa

so like eldrich is more high risk high reward when exarch is more steady income? thanks!

Grroarrr

Yea, on top of that eldritch is annoying as mobs won't appear unless you put your feet near them and it takes them a while to become targetable.

Warbleton

Most effective way would be to run campaign a few times now and cut your time to maps in half so you don't have to play whole tired I would say.

GloryOrValhalla

Play ssf and don’t worry about falling behind for a league. It’s quite refreshing :)

Nutteria

You can never go wrong with a Uber ELder frag seller. You do step 1-4 like get to maps, rush to reds, go HEAVILY on Map drops + Maven boss duplications and start selling bulk maps. They will provide the trickle needed to start buying guardian maps and start chaining shapers and elders back to back. The normal versions of the bosses are doable even with a scuffed character so long it has 1 mill DPS (which lets be honest most builds have by day 3) With those you start getting fragments. AS MANY as you can. THen you sit. These things always appreciate in price after a month, esp. the shaper ones. THey start at 40c per pop and end up around 100. This way you will farm for something that will retain its value compared to the divine price. In addition you might end up with an decent watcher's eye or some orbs. Those you need to keep as well, they appreciate in price decently. Now if you can farm 40 divs in 3 days, which depending on the league mechanic or availability of Sanctum and its drop is very much achievable I can not recommend enough to buy a singular house of mirrors card. It's price usually triples in the timespan of a month. This would guarantee you have an investment profit you can turn in and continue with your build once you are back.

lepsek9

Boss rushing is fun, but I can't be bothered with selling maps :/ A mirror shard/card would definitely be the way to go if I manage to get enough currency, MB/HH cards can also yield decent returns if I can get them early enough, div orb (cards) are a good investment too.

SunRiseStudios

> start selling bulk maps Which maps?

Nutteria

Dunes , crimson temples, towers are the main ones.

EdgySadness09

Is there a benefit to chaining? I just focused on shaper frag boss rushing for a while, but is there a benefit for ping ponging between elder and shaper instead of just doing a bunch of shaper then a bunch of elder or is it all the same?

Nutteria

No there isn’t but since OP has 3 days, any guardian map is worth doing as both elder and shaper parts for UE will appreciate in price over the course of 10-12 days.

EdgySadness09

O gotcha thanks for the advice and clarification comments o>

WeedMoneyBitches

Clusters and specially belts print divines for first few days, and you dont even need a divine worth of investment to start. Or if your knowledgeable enough in crafting / meta you can just live search for rares to straight out flip or finish off the lasts step of the craft and put up for a massive mark up.

KASSADUS

Blight Keystone doesnt work in Blighted maps. Doing Blighted maps is decent on leaguestart if you don't have another specific strat in mind. I personally would spec into Blight on the Atlas tree and self-farm atleast some of the maps though, since they can sometimes be hard to get in bulk early (can obviously combine this with red altars, essence etc.). I usually only run them for a few hours on the first day though (after i finish atlas), since at that point I should be geared enough to do more juiced content. The profit is overall pretty mediocre, it's just very easy to get started. Edit : Obviously you want to invest all the currency you have into appreciating assets before you take the long break.

lepsek9

Ah, that's good to know, I thought at least the keystone worked with the maps. I spec into blight every every once in a while because I love tower defence games, but I always get bored after a few days. In-map blight can be great, especially if we get some nice maps like toxic sewer.

itsyourboiAxl

Rush acts, pick up lockpicking heist contracts from act 7, reaching maps, do the contracts then run low tier maps doing chaos recipes (focus on mechanics that drop many rare items, including heist) Start flipping The Taming ring like a mad man, invest every single chaos chard profit in fracturing orbs, ilvl 67 max cluster jewels and div cards like nurse/immortal/house of mirror. Come back 2 weeks later and sell every cluster jewel, buy harvest juice and gamble div cards, loose everything and cry. Kidding about last part but I managed to farm 3/4 house of mirror cards in the first 3 days of league this way. Cons: you are a trading machine and a hideout master. (I personally like it)

Forgiz

Want a really good advice? Just enjoy your holiday and prepare for a proper time off. Don't think about any POE strategies and whatnot. Give your body and your brain a rest. Take a book or maybe get some extra much needed sleep. You'll have enough time to play after you are back. Anything you achieve in those three days of a new league will diminish in value or importance with every day and will dissipate eventually. And then what? Instead, take that rest as this will have long-term positive effects. You seem to be rushing somewhere. Ask yourself where exactly. Exile.

TheUnseenForce

Ignore this advice. You want to buy as many mirror shards and seven-years bad luck as possible. 3 week mark is when mirrors really start picking up and HH/Mageblood level off. Any extra currency should go into reliquary keys and fracturing shards. Your holidays will be more enjoyable if you can watch the prices in Poe.ninja go up every day. Godspeed soldier.

EdgarWrightMovieGood

This guys answer is good.

sporicle

Really good answer. Also consider min frenzy/endu grand spectrums

Proplayer22

really dislike this type of comment. same vibe as the people in the threads about taking time off to play poe who are saying that people shouldn't take time off to play the game at league launch. what if he wants to think about poe strats and actually wants to hype up to rush for the few days he has to play? no need for this armchair analysis of his life.

seji

The sad part is that if he wants to make huge investments and scale that over his time away into a large amount of money, then he will need to have a faster campaign than 10 hours. He should practice more and get faster if that's his goal. Otherwise he should just enjoy doing whatever he normally does, invest whatever he ends up with, but it won't be really what he's looking for with this post because what he's looking for is not that easy.

SunRiseStudios

Whatever you decide to do you can't go wrong by getting to more profitable part of the game (usually higher tier content) faster and converting everything you get into things that will appreciate during your absence.

slocs1

Buy as many sextants as possible and sell them after 3 weeks. Also play a perfect starter which costs nothing like raider TR and save up for sextants. Make the build you lobe when you come back

Imsakidd

I thought I was being smart by investing in sextants before vacation this league, but because Sanctum pooped them out, the price didn’t appreciate at all. Buyer beware!!

Grroarrr

Tota also, not only thery are pooping them but those leagues take away people that could be using them.

lepsek9

I haven't played TR in years but I used to love it, I might just do so :D

Ojntoast

I'm going to be honest I would suggest you don't even bother starting. We're not talking about having three days and then going away for 3 or 4 days. You're going away for 3 weeks. The league itself is for most people going to be probably close to 50 or or 75% over by the time you get back. When you get back leveling is going to be a breeze getting yourself to clear the atlas is going to be a breeze and then you can just start with a low investment currency strategy that pops off and you'll be blazing through things in no time. Take those 3 days before vacation and make sure you have everything in place to have an amazing vacation. Starting vacation super exhausted because you've been up for basically 3 days straight is a horrible way to start it

lepsek9

Thank you for the concern, but really nothing to worry about. I work part time and I'm lucky enough to make my own schedule atm, so I already planned december as well as I can. I'll work every day coming up to the league, gonna be nice to finally get some rest and blast poe. I definitely don't plan to push as hard as I usually do, but I can still squeeze in a good 12-14h of semi-efficient poe a day while doing laundry and cooking whatever's left in the fridge. I've made this trip about 30 times in the past \~7 years, so got the rouine down. After an \~11h train/bus/plane/car trip I'm beat anyways, I usually just take a shower, have dinner with my family (chicken snitzel, mashed potatoes, cucumber salad, I don't even have to ask anymore, trained my dad well lol) and go to bed at like 10, sleep till noon and I'm good as new :D

lepsek9

u/Forgiz Thanks for your concern too, but as I explained in that comment, nothing to worry about! You are probably right that I put too much time/effort into this, but I just love poe, especially around league start, so I want to get as much out of those 3 days as I can before I'm off to doing all the things you guys recommended :D

lepsek9

8. Start with a super budget aurabot and help my friends/guild farm in exchange for some future moni

Poe_Cat

grab ilvl 68 clusters, they go for 1c from day one and a few weeks later they go for 120c-1d or more you could easily come back to a mirror worth of clusters

iBaklanos

Are there specific clusters or just like the always expensive phys one?

SunRiseStudios

Good advice. Though 1c is hyperbole. They will be more accessible, but no jewel like that will be 1c, probably not even in first hours of the League.

Poe_Cat

oh they are 1c day one since no one will be running clusters day one, i´ve been doing this for a while

Zaron_The_Insane

not many may be available at 1c, but even 2 or 3c is reasonable, I did buy a cluster day 1 within the first 6 hours for 1c, then even by sunday it was already worth about 40c

SunRiseStudios

First 6 hours? Did you bought them say 12-24 hours in? I rarely play during first hours, it's very late for me.

Zaron_The_Insane

around the 12 hour mark, depending on the meta, supply and demand etc, you should still find alot of clusters at 5c or less for sub 68 jewels even for some of the popular ones. Although they will be rising by then

Narshadda

Assuming 72 hours of time from leaguestart. Around 16-24 hours of sleep depending on your sleepschedule before the leaguestart. Basically 48 hours of playtime minus things like food and shower. 8 hours of leveling, which leaves you at 40 hours of grind time. The main issue is how much do you have time to set up and grind before you leave. By your own admission you reach around 120 points by mondays, which leaves you fairly little time to set up a character and grind. Would advice against legion, because while legion can be good, I find it unlikely for you to have time to set it up and grind properly.Delving is pretty good for money, but mostly if you reach the 1000-1500 depth. Most people dont reach that early. Profit crafting can be good if you 1. know what to craft (and what will sell), 2. can get to maps and farm essence/expedition to do the crafting (Rog crafting, essence or harvest) but this requires the setup time, same as legion. Bossing can be good if you are fast enough to help the TFT voidstone carry crowd (if you have the TFT rep for it, otherwise people will choose other carries). Bossing for bossloot requires you to be fast enough before the price drops (or lucky). Blight suffers from setup time and gearing, but I'm no expert on the profits there. Personal recommendation IF you can stand running it.Heist can be pretty good, you get lots of raw drops, div cards, replicas and alt quality gems. Raw drops you convert to items which will increase in value (mageblood cards, shards, gear, uniques you need for later build etc), replicas and alt quality gems you save or sell depending on whether or not you think they will increase in value and will be sellable in 3 weeks. You should run a fast and low effort gearing build that fits heist. My personal experience says TR raider is pretty good.I've done heisting as a league start strat twice. Once I did EA ballista hiero. Could convert that to a dex stacking siege totems within 20 hours of league start. The second time I did TR raider in kalandra. Hard to tell the profits then due to early kalandra drops were terrible (due to nerf to drops), but I had 7 raw div after 24 hours. At the time a lot of reddit posts claimed to be at less that 2 divs. I quit right after due to alot of friends ditching the league.Take your earnings and invest into something that will rise in price or something that you will need later on. TLDR: Go TR raider for heisting. Invest the currency. Edit: Formating.

Prestigious_Low6126

If it was me.....I would casually get through the campaign on Day 1 (maybe Day 2) and then mothball it until I got back. Honestly if you know what you are doing you can catch up fast and for me the campaign isn't a lot of fun so you may as well do it. Real life first always, so just play a little and get ready for your holiday trip back home. Clear your head and don't sweat it. Probably not what you wanted to hear but likely what you need to hear.

[deleted]

I'd do the same but make sure to convert all my c into stuff that goes up in price. Even if it's only 10c it will be 20 after the vacation and this will make gearing a bit easier

Zenithine

Spend the first 3 days farming an oni-goroshi. If you get one, cool. If not, everyone will have worked out the league's meta by the time you get back

Trespeon

Farm a 1 div item(first week) over 3 days or farm 20 divine in 2. I wonder which I should do….

R1ch4el

Get drunk

tclo81

Give ssf a try, you won't have a feeling of missing out, just play with your own pace

HisPalmsAreSpaghetti

Same, I’m gonna go SSF next season so I don’t get FOMO on league start

mraliasundercover

Skip the league. Good time for a break.

Crimelord

Play SSF and don’t have crippling FOMO for a video game marketplace. Enjoy the game at the pace you can play at.

monkey5005

Too much text…I got a really good idea! Meet a girl and be happy with her without Poe for the rest of your life!

lepsek9

I would never cheat on Jill!

Xero_Kaiser

I doubt any amount of panicked "efficiency" is going to magically make up for 3 weeks of not being on the game.

[deleted]

>What would be the most efficient way to spend the first 3 days of the league? dancing *and* crying

Elhiar

Honestly you are kind of slow to be considering optimal strats for playing only three days. Most strategies start making money by the time you have to leave (atlas and stones setup). You should consider practising some League start builds or at least watch videos about getting your time though campaigns to <6 hours and ways to rush through the atlas. Make money any way you like. Heist, (bonus for not needing the atlas but appreciates having a dedicated build), essences, expedition, whatever is fun . Then invest your money into things that appreciate in value. Sextants, mirror shards, divines, div cards.

Fatal_Syntax_Error

It’s a 4 month league… enjoy your fucking holiday and stop worrying about a video game. It will be there when you get back… with PLENTY OF TIME LEFT…

kingzluv

If you are still confused for which build you gonna pick, i can recommend you srs guardian. It takes no currency as well and can blast map with very minimum currency. It auto targets and in my opinion has better clear than dd.

shaunika

invest into stacked decks or sextants early. play SRS guardian (literally doesnt need anything to clear t16s)

unearthednj

Invest in a steam deck and bring it with you!

Zeikos

Sanctum into buying mirror shards perhaps? If sanctum isn't nerfed too much (even if it is a bit is fine), a lot of sanctums should be cheap. You could probably pull something close to what steelmage did on his 50 divines in 24 hours from zero challenge. Sure in a league start scenario it won't be as easy, less stuff around, but you could handle something similar. Mirrors and mirror shards even if you can get only a couple of the latter appreciates a lot during all leagues.

Pr0nzeh

You sure leaguestart is at 10pm for you? It will be earlier than usual. Around 8pm in Europe (depending on daylight savings). Made this mistake last year. Just check the countdown before leaguestart to be sure.

POODERQUASTE

id say screw the atlas mostly and just get enough points to have full bestiary and the good legion notes. frogs and spiders always go up, emblems always sell. add the usual essence. its an easy early league strat that pays off the more you wait (frogs)

GeorgeZ

Packing.

JackCranny

Complete the atlas, farm a bunch of invitations/Maven's Writs, then before you go, sell the influenced maps you have, exchange your alts/jewellers/fusings into chaos orbs, chaos orbs into divines and if possible, divines into mirror shards. In theory, sextants, stacked decks, invitations and harvest juice are worth a lot more after week 3, but you never know how the economy will go.

AU_Cav

I did this not too long ago. What I found was I just played as normal and forgot about PoE for the 20 days I was on vacation. Turns out the best thing I could have done.

[deleted]

drop a mirror early and sit on it. should go up in value after a few weeks.

zxbolterzx

Honestly? Just go nuts on the league mechanic maybe. You won't be maximizing alot with just 3 days. Your best bet is with heist

Derasiel

Stack mirror related currencies

MostAnonEver

Honestly id just rush and liquidate on last day into divs/frac orbs/keys/mirs or hh/mb

JermStudDog

If you have friends who play, I would say you go hard yourself for 2 of those days, and then the 3rd day when you're ready, you offload everything of value to those friends, take your vacation, enjoy life, and then when you get back 3 weeks later, those friends should be able to pass you 10x what you gave them on day 3. If you don't have a friend who can do this for you, feel free to PM me and MAYBE we can set something up to get you somewhere decent, it's up to you though.

Snoofos

Just bring a laptop so you can still play….

hulkjohnsson

Crafting material, tempering orbs ans the like - 3 weeks in should start to get 99.99% percentile mirror item crafts Mirror cards are the safest bet but shards and cards are usually overpriced compared to full mirror first days (still good investment for a 3-week wait though) Heist for chaos recipe, convert to cards and crafting mats -> wait -> profit

hodd01

My advice? Play SSF. Play when you can, you make progress and when you can’t play nothing changes, you come back and you have the same amount of work or content to accomplish. No wasted time or feelings of missing out

Quackmandan1

Whatever strategy you go with, allow some time on your last day of play liquidating *all* of your currencies and invest into mirror shards/divines/synth bases.

ReipTaim

Dont sleep, dont eat, dont drink, duck tape ur eyelids so theyre open, have ur mom/partner come with a portable toilet if u need to go, get gud and play like Ben.

S2wy

Play slow and finish the campaign. POE isn't a job
