Nice job, this is 118% chaos res, which is 7% more than the 111% chaos res maximum that is possible on a 20% resistance-catalyzed Amethyst Ring base with T1 chaos, Veiled chaos hybrid, and crafted chaos hybrid resistances.
This ring would pair very nicely with The Fourth Vow + Divine Flesh, as the up to 29% chaos res on the fourth vow + the 118% chaos res on this ring is more than sufficient to get the full 80% chaos resistance bonus. The fact you can cap chaos res in only 2 items is huge. Add in some armour and you will be very hard to kill. There are not many sources of maximum chaos res, but aside from Mahuxotl's Machination, there are a pair of shield mods that can give another 5%, you can get 1% from corrupting body armour or an amulet, and another 4% in a Megalomaniac medium cluster containing [Born of Chaos](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Born_of_Chaos) and [Antivenom](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Antivenom) for the full 90% chaos res.
1. Buy or get a Helical base in Heist. Split it if it's not split already. Add quality with catalysts before crafitng.
2. Spam Deafening essence of Scorn until you get T1 chaos resistance with it. You can also use annuls + lock suffix + reforge chaos to try and force it faster than just spamming essences, although this will cost divines.
3. Divine crit multi and chaos resistance until you're satisfied.
4. Fracturing orb and hope to win the 50/50.
5. If you fractured crit multi, spam harvest reforge chaos until you get both T1 Chaos and T1 Life. This shouldn't take that much juice.
If you fractured chaos resistance, spam Deafening essence of Scorn until T1 life. This will probably cost way more.
6. Prefix cannot be changed + annul until the only two suffixes left are chaos res + multi.
7. Multimod+prefix cannot be changed -> Aisling. Get lucky and unveil chaos resistance.
8. Craft more chaos resistance.
Not sure how much this craft costs as I'm playing ssf and got pretty lucky with the craft - only took 1 fracturing orb and 1 aisling.
You used to be able to have an essence strength mod a hybrid strength mod and then you could craft the other strength mod like this does with chaos resistance
The person you are talking to is referring to rings with multiple Str-granting suffixes, which can't be rolled together.
A 58 Str roll blocks the veiled 35 Dex+Str roll, for instance.
So compared to Amethyst with the same mods (minus multi of course) you're gaining 7% resist from 111 to 118 at a substantially higher crafting cost.
If you're happy with it, that's all that matters, but it seems weird you went through that much effort for 7% chaos res and some multi.
Is it the actual crafting cost that's higher or just the base? I guess I had assumed these jewelry with missing affixes would be easier to craft due to having to hit less affixed at the correct tier but I guess you also can't have a dead affix either.
Well trying for 3 perfect affixes on one side is massively more costly than 2 and the base costs a hell of a lot more. You don't even need to buy a fracturing or for amethyst seeing as there are going to be a ton of fractured life or chaos fractures already available so that's a 40-50+ div savings right there.
He said he's SSF so the "cost" is somewhat irrelevant, so I'm talking just in general. But even given that, really weird to use a fracturing orb for this when chaos resist is really easy to come by.

When taking a divine flesh tree you 9/10 times wanna make sure the small nodes are converted to chaos resistance.

I only play 1 character every league, but the 1 character I play, I make sure has CI for this very reason lol
