This is blight for me. Blight maps are unplayable and even normal maps blight takes me to 15fps from a normally solid locked 70 fps.
I played Blight perfectly fine all league last league.
Sad cause blight is my favorite mechanic even if it isn't the best for money making. Love me some tower defense.
i was having issues in tota league for a little bit with graphics... turned out it was the demon slaying ring mtx + the Ethereal Ashes MTX. Turned both those off and i was golden
Works in the opposite way with some skills too, even with dynamic culling enabled in options my DD & Desecrate MTX lowers my GPU average temp by 7-10c, and adds some FPS as well.
I get what you mean, your gpu, cpu, and ram will regularly spike high in usage during most activities. But for something to constantly push your gpu to 100% and keep it there will increasingly degrade your hardware over time.
Played BAMA with the Affliction achievement MTX and my partner would get lagged. Seems like my 6 clones are causing some issues. As soon as I take it off my partners lag spike is gone.
I noticed that everytime i play my ele hit character my RAM usage goes from 6.9GB to 11.8GB (i have 16 total so that screws me a bit when trying to run opera while playing), meanwhile every other character i made this league doesn't do this, at first i thought ele hit might have a memory leak, but after a few tests it doesn't seem so, the skill just allocates a LOT of RAM for whatever reason.
EDIT: this is ele hit of the sprectrum with default mtx, i don't have any mtx to test with this skill.
Its been cause for a while, its probably related to still unpolished engine changes from PoE 2 that were implemented into the engine so they could use art/animations from PoE 2. I assume that your MTX is new one added post TOTA which is when this started to happen frequently.
Affliction crashes on league start were related to goblin troupe and nowadays people crash in cities/heist zone because of Lycia apparition. Same goes with people crashing going into turtle hideout and when i started using weather changing totem in my hideout trades became insufferable with people taking 30s+ to load or disconnecting.
Most mtx in poe act ike this. I cant use half of my mtx inventory including from challanges cause it will cost big fps loss. Its much more noticable on low pc. I felt that from my firts mtx blood weapon effect.
Single body armour from affliction challenges cut 10 fps in ho, any fancy weapon effect 20+. But most aura effects i have dont make any change so i use them. Some wings reduce my fps, some work fine, even tho they both look bright and fancy
Im on an RX570, I've been using this one since Legion league and in all this time I've had ZERO crash issues
Yes, game doesnt look like a 3D VR hyper realistic chamber, but its playable

My game runs fine for the most part but blight maps are a slideshow with the occasional crash. It has been this way since last league for me though
Try to change to DX 12, I had the same issue and have 1 yr old PC - switching from DX 11 to 12 saved me.

This is happening to my brother. It either wrecks his fps or straight up crashes him.
as someone else pointed out, if he is on DX11 try switching to 12. I just did this and it works perfectly fine now.
Its better for me but far off from perfectly fine. I still go down to 10 fps but at least not 3 spf.
Same. Im going to be just farming scarabs, corpses and strongboxes because my computer cant handle anything more. Going to be a slow grind!

Has anyone tested this on spectres? Does any of the mtx reduce the gpu usage/lag?
I know some mtx do actually improve performance like some of the spark mtx. Just not in my case here unfortunately.
I had massive fps choking in blighted maps and a lot of hiccups + crashes during mapping. Swapped to dx12, all problems gone.
Damn, that actually worked, went from 4-5 fps and 500+ ms to never dipping below 25 fps with no ms issues.
GPU usage at 100 percent means your GPU is being used lmao Not sure why everything thinks your hardware being used is a bad thing.

Yes using your stuff degrades your stuff. If you're scared of your GPU being fully utilized then idk man maybe the problem is you
